Remnants Posted September 12, 2006 Share Posted September 12, 2006 As of today I've been unable to load runescape for some odd reason and I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem... cause I know its not my anti-viris or spyware software as I've turned them off and still doesn't work so... Possibly something with Jaugx servers that time? I tried rebooting and nothing helped. Came back 3 hours later, and it worked perfectly. Must be there servers or a hacking attempt (such a DDOS). Bonus computer geek points if you know what that stands for without googling it :-) Distributed Denial of Service (zonda missed the first D :P ) attack. It's nothing special to know an acronym. Now pay me. It was most likely just some routing trouble somewhere on the net. It's happened may times before. Anyone with the power to bring servers down with a DDOS attack doesn't waste their time on RS servers. They have bigger targets to go after. Same goes for anyone that can truely hack a server. The data centers Jagex will also have competent staff that know how to mitigate a DDOS attack.
