Solarlioness
Hey everyone, Now, it's been a while since I've seen something that made me stop and go "whaaaa??!" but I've been noticing lately that many people now have interesting little decorations on their shields and armor. What are they called?! And if you may know where I may find one of those fun yet useless things let me know. Thanks and fun always!
wurmskin
They're crests which are painted onto either Steel or Rune Kiteshields. To get a family crest you must first get at least level 16 construction then speak to a person on the second level of the White Knight Castle. Once you have one, grab your shield and then go to a house in which the owner has a painting stand to paint your shield there. You can look for house parties or have a friend invite you over. For more information on it go to the RS Knowledge Base under the construction skill guides. It should help :) . On another note welcome to the Tip.it forums! ^ Refresh for a new signature ^

Solarlioness
Wow...a sudden reply! Thank you! And now I must ask one more question: are the ying yang things just an ammy? And so they changed the God armor to have little designs on them, huh? Bummer; I kind of wanted a little blue squiggle on my rune(t). And I was wondering if you kept the shield or if it still worked if/when you stopped being a member. Though I would understand if you didn't know; it is a random question. Thanks for the welcome and responce!
celebelian
yeah, the yin yangs are an ammy, I dont think they have any stats. You can buy one from the makeover mage i believe. Painted Stuff is members only, so you can't weild it in f2p.
Solarlioness
Well, I might get in trouble or something for saying this but if you are not a member any more, you can still wield a member's item. But that is only if you never EVER take it off. I have only done this with boots and capes. And they do not help your stats at all when you do wear them so it probably would not work too well if you kept the shield. Unlike a cape and boots, you do need that! D. V. Devnull
Uh, from what I know, the painted shields are ownable by both P2P and F2P alike (F2P can get them through trades or losing member status...) as well as wieldable. They will have the stats of their base metal (Bronze, Iron, Steel, Black, Mithril, Adamant, or Rune) ... Please don't confuse that person. ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... Someone was actually able to trade me a Black H5 Kite on F2P... This therefore leaves certain that other ones will be tradeable... It is more like the two of you do not know what you are talking about... ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people...
