nerdattack16
It's my first, and I just sort of wrote what came to my head. It's not totally based off RuneScape, but it's got references to it. Please, PLEASE critisize. I don't care if it sounds mean, I'm pretty much used to it. PART ONE I slowly stepped past the charred archway, my guard on at all times. It was quiet in the old wreck of an arena today. Not like usual days, where the yells of pitched battle filled my ears. "Our quarry seems to have hidden well... " I told my companions. "Let's hope the old man's tip was right." Zach, the mage with me, nodded, while gripping his staff tighter. Gil, the archer, grinned fiercely and nocked an arrow on his string. "Shall I try to 'shed some light' on our situation?" Zach asked. "Go ahead," said Gil, "and we'll get 'im if he comes out." Zach nodded and lifted his staff high. Immediately a bright glow exuded from its tip, clearly illiuminating the area further. All I could see was blodstains from battles past, rubble, broken statues. "No sign of him," I muttered, "but he's gotta be tricky. Guy paid too much to put him out..." Let me stop to explain myself. My name is Jorden, and I hunt for a living. Not for animals, or deadly monsters, but for people. You could call me a bounty hunter. My team of three had been hired by a strange man who hid his face from view. He tipped us off about a man who had apparently tried to assassinate the king! He said he had withstood battle with him, but had almost died to his might. The man said that the would-be killer escaped deep into the wilderness, and was "more powerful than we could imagine." Well, he offered the right amount of money, and hey - we've never lost a bounty before! - so we took on his task. Anyways, back to the story: We slowly stalked through the old arena, keeping out for any movement. We had searched nearly the entire arena, and were about to give up. "There's no way he's still here." Zach said. "Musta telepored off while he had a chance..." Gil grinned. I replied, "I guess you're right. Let's go back and--" Suddenly, a huge armored man materialized before our eyes! "I hear you're looking for me," he growled. His voice had a horrible sound to it - like the screech of metal on metal. I checked the sketch our employer had given me. "Actually, yes," I replied smoothly. "Will it be the easy way, or the hard way?" "I'll take the hard way," he said, while drawing a wicked, curved sword from his belt. Suddenly, with remarkable speed, Gil shot an arrow aimed directly at the gap in the man's helm! FTTTT!-- It came within an inch of his face before stopping suddenly - he had snatched it out of thin air! "Well, if that's your game... so be it!" he yelled. He sheathed his sword and unhooked a bandolier of knifes from his belt. With supernatural agility, he leaped tens of feet in the air and threw his knifes blindingly fast at us. Gil managed to weave between, but he caught one in his leg, causing to grimace with pain. Zach quickly threw up a wall of super-hot fire, quickly melting all but one lone knife - aimed directly at my face! END OF PART ONE. I'll write and post the other parts if people show fairly good interest. Justin742
I like it so far. Moved into the battle a little faster than I expected but an interesting idea you have so far. Continue! Gattree
Doesn't really deserve a rating although I am curious where this story might go if you get your thoughts and word choice in order.
