October 18, 200619 yr my car sterio can use usb thumbdrives and sd disc. First question. My intructions dont tell me what i need to name the folder so that the sterio can play thumbdrives and sd discs. Second question. thumbdrives dont have any optical parts, BUT its still a usb port and there is plenty of power going to the sterio. Is it possible to plug in an external hard drive to that usb port? im guessing no but its worth a question. I mean come on why wouldnt it.

You won't break the stereo, all that'll happen is it won't work. 2: Usually USB hardrives require a lot more power than the basic 5V that the port gives out. If the hardrive only has 1 USB port and no external power supply, then yes it'll probably work. Unless your stereo has more than 1 USB port, then you can use a hardrive with 2. Notoriously Trollish.
