  1. Dead topic is dead, 4.2 today/tomorrow. Woo... Firelands, won't do it. Previous raids nerfed, won't do them. Quit Cataclysm to twink 80's and do Wrath content again. Working on Herald of the Titans. I miss faceroll puggable content.
  2. Wow. Should inform the "vocalist" that we can't hear crap. Maybe not cupping his hands around the microphone and screaming into it might help. I like metal, I just prefer it when I can hear words.
  3. Is God real? Post your thoughts. Oh God... Excuse the pun. Why won't you people just leave this topic alone, I guess this is going to be another one of those 150+ page crapfests that'll I'll see every single day on Off-Topic for the next 6 months until someone eventually has the nuts to lock it. To answer the question of the topic. No I don't believe there is some sort of superior being who has made the universe and everything in it. I believe it has evolved over several billion Earth years and we are alone. Simple as that. Next! :|
  4. Not exactly a hard question. :P CPU: 2x Quad core Intel Core's (Extreme Edition). Whatever's the fastest. Memory: 8 - 16GB DDR3 (Depends on board). GFX: 4x ATi 1GB 2900XT's. (X-Fire). Storage: RAID 0 1TB HDD (2 1TB HDD's) (For the OS) & an eSATA external 4 - 10TB HDD. Whatever you can get... Monitors: 30" TFT Monitor & a 1080p projector. All the other crap that goes with it, PSU (1KW), high spec soundcard... Etc. Obviously an expensive mouse and keyboard. That should set you back a few grand.

    Age..

    21. From September 2001 to ~October 2006 (on and off). WoW is what finally got me to quit. Never going back. Ever. :P As for being on this board, some of us like the community, it's quite small and friendly(ish). Most of us technically grew up talking to each other and we don't want to let it go that easily. :)
  6. It doesn't matter what card you have, you'll have better than a SB16. If I remember right the orignal SB16's came in an ISA slot format, which is REEEEEEALLY old. :P Assuming you have a semi-modern PC (One with at least an AGP slot to make sure) you'll be alright. If you happen to have a really old PC you can purchase any PCI soundcard for around $10 - 20? From just about anywhere. It'll have SB16 support at least. :)
  7. *shrugs* My mum made me a list... ... I lost the list. :wall:
  8. Ask for the speaker thing seen as you actually appear to want that... And ask for an IOU to be redeemed at any point. :P Jailtime? Use the IOU. Need a new left testicle? Use the IOU. iPod breaks down before your next birthday? Use the IOU. Lots of things can be solved with an IOU.

    First Car

3.0L Automatic for a first car... Try your best not to kill yourself. Like Merc my first car was a 1.1L, it was a mark 3 Ford Fiesta. Cheap to fuel but expensive to insure... Being only 18 years old and living in Britain that's normal though. Second car was a replacement car as I crashed my first into some trees. 1.0L Peugeot 205, lovely little car but incredibly slow. :P Third car was a 1.4L Peugeot 306, was a fun little run about until I crashed into the backend of a parked car... Fourth car was a 2.0L Vauxhall Calibra, BIG IMPROVEMENT. But a lot more dangerous for me to be driving in. Caught twice for speeding... Got fed up with having to repair it... So I got a small loan from the bank and have now got a 2.0L V6 Mazda 323F.. Not much faster than the Calibra but a lot nicer and smoother to drive. Let's hope I don't crash this one because I might not survive. ;) So that's 5 cars in 3 years... Every one of them has been a lesson and a gradual one at that. Admittedly the jump from 1.4L to 2.0L could have been made a tad bit smoother... But I got used to the power fairly quickly and didn't kill myself in the process. But seriously. 3.0L... FIRST CAR?! Your parents must be insane or they want you dead. :uhh:
  10. So is this why you never came on Skype with me and Andy? If you don't stutter when you sing, could you not.. I dunno pretend to sing a sentence? Yeah that doesn't make much sense. Sing it first, repeat it a few times and then gradually go to talking? I know what you mean about kids being cruel... Had a friend in High School called Andy who had a terrible stutter. First few years it was quite bad, but it gradually went away. He still stuttered occasionally but it wasn't as noticeable. We called him A-A-A-A-A-Andy... Luckily he had a sense of humour and took it in good spirit. In fact he was a very nice kid. Kinda wonder where he went... Think he went to work on a farm. :/
  11. If I was re-rolling with a friend to just do 2v2 arena I'd have went Warrior/Paladin. :P Let's hear it for... PLATE! :D But if you are gonna stick with a Rogue. You have to try out the Sub tree. Hemo spec, cheat death, Imp sap. Ish imba for PvP. The only two classes that I have a problem with is Paladins and Warriors. Everything else I pretty much tear through like a wet tissue. Unless of course they're in much better gear than me. Which isn't hard when I'm cutting about in greens/blues. :P Like you, I'll be gearing up in Season 1 Arena gear. Got 26.5k honor so far for my mainhand and offhand. Then I'll be working on getting the Vindicator's Leather set then the Gladiators armor. :) Locking down a caster is pretty easy though. Start with a Garrote, before the silence wears out you'll have 4/5 points for a KS, Be careful with energy but try and do as much damage as possible for the duration of the KS, garrote, restealth, re-open with CS, 5 points, Cold Blood, Eviscerate, should finish off any caster apart from maybe a well geared lock. Although I managed a 3.5k Evis on a 70 lock yesterday... So maybe. :P Any other class, open with a CS and do the same. If you want you can use blind aswell for extra energy and healing. Warriors and Paladins are a problem because of their armor and they have ways of getting out of our stuns. Especially annoying is that god damn bubble. -.- Blizzards idea of a joke... Let's make an already near invincible class completely invulnerable. :x DPS buffs for Paladins too... So even if you didn't want to heal your warrior friend you could still DPS well. :P
  12. Taking out and consequently chasing a level 70 warrior and mage out of the crossroads with a level 70 Rogue in fairly average gear. (Green quest items for instance). Sapped the warrior, killed the mage within 10 seconds. Flipped on Evasion and took out the warrior in a little over 15 seconds. Warrior logged out after that and the mage tried to get away but was being killed by a level 70 Undead Warrior everytime they rezzed. :P Another from way back in the day was a headshot killing spree in CS:S when it first came out. Out of 100 and odd kills 80 odd were headshots. I was psyched. :P

    Crysis

I use 1680x1050 as it's my native resolution on my TFT's. Set everything to high and put 6x AA on... I reckon at a guess it was running at around 3 - 5 FPS. Very laggy and stuttering badly. My "rig": AMD Athlon X2 4400+, 2GB PC4000 DDR, 512MB Radeon X1900XTX. It works fine on medium settings, no AA @1680x1050. It also looks mighty fine too. On par with HL2 @ Highest settings (1600x1200). Lovely game visually, fun to play to an extent but not my sort of game. I just downloaded the demo to test out my new GFX PSU tbh. :P I'll give it a 85%
  14. I'm not too bothered about the Shadowstep changes, but Hemo is waaaaay buffed now. :D Before on low level mobs (nearly no armour), I was hitting between 1100 and 1350~ crits. Now I'm hitting between 1400 and 1700~crits. :D Oh yeah, it's worth trying out the new Cheat Death now... 3 points for 100% immunity to an attack that would otherwise kill you? Not to mention any attacks on you get reduced 90% for 3 seconds immediately afterwards. I tested it on the PTR. Was at 250~ health and I attacked a level 67 mob. It hit me for 200 or so.. Then Cheat death activated. It's amazing how long 3 seconds is when you're doing 500+ DPS. *Smiley removed* Sadly on live I couldn't spec into Cheat Death. :( My Seal Fate Hemo spec doesn't allow it. Not that I really need CD when I mainly kill my target without them ever being out of stunlock. : Blind! 1.5 minute CD with talents and "unlimited" uses, LOVE! It suffers from diminishing returns, but the CD is so long you'll never notice it unless you and another 5 rogues team up to blind one target over and over. *Smiley removed* Finally the buff to Fleet Footed... GOD DAMNIT I LOVE. :P Now is a good time to play Horde in AV too. I played 3 matches last night and we steam rolled the Alliance all 3 times. My only guess is to why... Is Alliance were still trying to play AV the old way. (That way, they won 90% of the time. At least on my BGroup). As a rogue I can now ninja the bunkers, towers and GY's. No elites and especially a drastic decline in mobs that can see through stealth. Levelled my Paladin up to 19 too, gonna play a few WSG's and see how a normally geared Paladin does against the Alliances 45003988875 twinks. Once I get to 20 I'll be testing out the new benefitted levelling and I'll probably get back to you all on that. Then again, I've never like levelling. So I'll probably go back to my Rogue. One thing I've not tried out yet is WSG on my rogue. Apparently there's a new debuff when you drop the flag meaning you can't pick it up again for 3 seconds. One of the ways for a rogue carrying the flag to get out of roots or snares was to Vanish, pick up flag, sprint. Now you're not supposed to be able to do that? I'll check it out. Anyone who plays/played a Rogue kindly let me know if it'd be a major benefit to me if I replaced Premeditation (which I never EVER use) with Vigor. I dunno if the extra 10 energy will be worth it and I don't wanna spend 50G finding out. -.- My usual opener is CS -> Hemo (35 energy) to 5 points then KS, if CS runs out before I get 5 points I KS with only 4 -> Blind -> Restealth -> repeat. That's the basic idea. Would having 10 extra energy give me an extra Hemo do you think? It'd be nice... My Seal Fate build does really well on non-pvp geared folk. But with the Gladiator set being available for honor more people will have more resilience and I'll not be critting. It's just to get the initial 5 points. *Smiley removed* PS. WHAT THE F**K IS THIS?! "The number of smilies in the post (13) is over the limit (10)" Tip.It not think that maybe someone would be writing a crap load with lots of sentences and wanting to express themsleves aswell? Artards.
  15. Do yourself a favour then and uninstall Linux. This is just the first of many simple tasks that are made hard while using Linux. Or choose a better distrobution. Ubuntu is the fan favourite at the moment. I'd also suggest Fedora. If you really want to keep Mandriva, you'll have to buff up on computer terms. And you'll probably be using the console (text typing thingie) a lot.
  16. I don't think this'll be of much help, but I'll give it a go anyway. As you know by what seems like a good bit of knowledge of pinging and tracing websites. The way to sort this out is trial and error. Try the following. 1) Phone your telephone company and get them to test the line (Assuming you're using ADSL). 2) Remove all computers from the router apart from yours, test accordingly. If it happens again, you have at least removed your dad and sisters machines from the equation. 3) Borrow someone elses ADSL router or buy a cheap one. Test it again with only your computer connected. If it lags you know it's not your router. 4) Replace the CAT5, should be cheap to do. Unplug all computers from the router apart from your PC. If it lags again you know it's not the cable. :P I suppose you're getting it. These problems are rarely anything you can deal with personally. I've been experiencing slowdown and lag [bleep]es like these for a few months myself. In my case it's the cable company. Recently it's picked up again and I'm getting full speed all the time. You might want to change ISP's too? Like I said, I don't think this'll be much help. But do your best to narrow it down, that way when you do figure out what the problem is you know what you're talking about. :D
  17. Post a HiJackThis log. This will not only display rogue programs running but it'll also tell us whether or not Norton's is running. Worst case scenario, uninstall Nortons and run the Norton Removal Tool to remove all traces of it. Reinstall Nortons. :) I assume because it is already installed you'll have the disk for it. If you don't, phone Symantec and see if they can help you. As long as you have your key you should be OK. Personally I'd use freeware antivirus and firewall like Clare suggested. But if you're already paying for Nortons, I don't see why you should use it. :) As for antivirus programs slowing down computers, I've never had any trouble with Nortons personally or in a professional environment. McAfee on the other hand I've had countless problems with. All the exact same thing. It makes a computer grind to a halt. Admittedly this has only been experienced in slower computers. <1GHz, 256MB RAM, 5400RPM HDD. But it does happen. So lay off Clare guys. :P
  18. I'm surprised no ones talking about 2.3 hitting... Americans got it yesterday. We get it today... I'm still at work though. >.< Looking forward to the Sub tree improvements for rogues as I'm hemo specced for PvP the now. Also... Improved Fleet footed FTW! :D Full walking speed in stealth now. Will be levelling up my Paladin too. Apparently Brian Kopp (someone said it was him) has managed to level from 1 - 60 in 5 days and 5 hours Alliance side with the new patch. Which isn't a record I know, but I believe his best before was around 6 or 7 days. So us mere mortals (especially Horde) should see an improvement in levelling. :) Oh yeah, I'm only level 16 on my Pala... But the changes to Ret DPS is a bonus too. I'll be like a fury warrior... But I can heal. :D Or better yet. A Rogue in Plate that can heal.
  19. I remember being permanently banned. :-#
  20. Or he has a dictionary/thesaurus... Sentence structure and intelligence are facets of the written word that cannot be garnered from dictionaries nor thesauri I'm afraid. These are tools that have been used by writers throughout history to improve spelling, definition and vocabulary. Having said that, and leading from your uneducated insinuation, anything that can be used to enhance the writing skills of an individual should not be frowned upon, but embraced with open arms. Wow that made you sound like a pompous arsehole. =D> I am a pompous (and self righteous) arsehole, it has taken you all of two posts of mine in "Off Topic" to work that out, good work my son. :D Actually one, I didn't read the one prior to the above quoted. :P And thanks, I guess.
  21. Aye, me tae. I can speak proper English, but most of the time I slur and destroy it with Scots slang. :P I can count in German, count up to 20? In French. Say a few words in Japanese... That's about it. I'm too lazy to learn another language, most people speak English anyway. :-#
  22. In my experience you can only add so many filters for spam, eventually you start catching real emails. :/ My suggestion would be to allow only people on your address book to send you emails. It's the only way as far as I know that you'll definately be spam free. I get around 3 - 6 spam emails a day on hotmail, but I'm so used to deleting them after work that they don't bother me anymore.
