  1. My server > your server. Pick Shattered Hand Horde! We are teh win. Or if you wanna hang with that loser Azvi, go Alliance. :P I've stopped playing though. Again?! You're like a yoyo! Then again I'm not much better when I'm trying to decide what faction to play on. :-k As you've probably heard or guessed both me and Andy are playing Horde now. ^-^; You should delete your rogue and come join us! >:) We need a healer for Arena, as it stands when Andy gets to 70 we'll be DPS/DPS... He went a lock. >.< I'll talk to you on MSN later if I have time.
  2. Next time you get a BSOD, try and give us some of the information from it, preferably the main line at the top. Also, doing a full memory test would be a good idea. Use http://www.memtest.org/#downiso or any other you like the sound of. They all do the same thing. If you get any errors at all, you'll want to either change the slots your memory is in, clean the contacts or more easily replace it altogether. Everything else mentioned by Blade and Clare is good too.
  3. Just download CCCP... Media Player Classic and a crap load of codecs should do it. Installing the newest flash player would be of benefit too. Also Quicktime Alternative and Real Alternative. After that you'll be able to play any video file through Media Player or Classic. FTW! Google the bold.

  5. Drinking alcohol has nothing to do with maturity... I know people in their early 40's who get wrecked and act like idiots (My mother being a good and annoying example.) Not to say I don't do it... In fact, I love getting drunk because it makes me care-free and happy. Quite the opposite from my normal doom and gloom personality. I've been drinking alcohol since I was 3 years old. This started with a half diluted glass of wine for Christmas and New Years dinner. Then gradually as I got older I got more and more. When I was around 13 my mum gave me a taste of Whisky and Vodka straight... Both of which made me run to the bathroom and wash my mouth out. Underage drinking is a problem but only when people make a big fuss over it. I don't see any problem with younger teenagers drinking in their own home with friends round. But when parents and non-parents crack down on underage drinking all it does is drives them to street corners, alleys and parks. There'll always be a way for them to get the alcohol (especially with the sort of culture in the UK) so why not let them drink it in the comfort and safety of their own homes? Another quick tidbit... For all the kids in the thread saying stuff like "I personally wouldn't drink for the sake of getting drunk. Plain stupidty, just throw some bricks on top of your head and it'll feel the same tomorrow. I wouldn't get high neither, seems pointless to look at flying random colours and forgetting stuff." Don't comment on things you've not experienced. Plenty of time after having a good fun night out (usually getting absolutely smashed) I've woken up with no more than cotton mouth. Although the last time I was out, I did scare myself... I woke up and found I had been sick in my sleep. Way to kill myself... :wall:
  6. The only thing the US realms have got that we don't have is more people and the majority speak English. Take the server me and Azvi play on. Most of the server speak Swedish. (I know Azvi's Swedish...) But even he finds it annoying when people walk up to him and say nothing but "swe?". As for your character choice... A holy Paladin as far as I know is based on healing. So you'll last a crap load longer but you'll struggle to kill things as fast. For levelling you'll want to go a Retribution spec Paladin (Anyone correct me if I'm wrong), then when you hit 70 you can respec into Holy so you can heal in instances and raids. Personally on the PTR I specced into what's called a Survivaldin, which is a Holy/Protection spec and with Tier 6 (as everyone had it) I was pretty much invincible 1 on 1. Hell... In Booty Bay when I was grinding Bloodsail rep I got attacked by both a warlock and a rogue at the same time as being attacked by two mobs and I still didn't die. The rogue was a laugh as I could easily outheal (with healing gear) his damage and the warlock wasn't exactly in control either. The mobs were more of an annoyance than a threat too. You want a quick killing solo spec? Go a warlock, hunter, warrior (fury/arms), mage (frost). If you want to survive an atomic bomb? Roll a Paladin or Prot Warrior. Personally? I play a Rogue. So we won't get into that...
  7. Download a dedicated Antivirus program first, run it. If nothing is found use trial and error to figure out the problem. Using Task Manager, keep shutting down non-system processes until it brings the computer back up to speed. Actually just close every single process one by one... Only one you need that I can think of is Explorer[Caution: Executable File]. Better yet, get another hardrive and install a fresh copy of Windows on it (Or any OS for that matter). If it still runs slow you know it's a hardware problem. If it speeds up you know it's either the original hardrive or a software problem.
  8. Skidding off the motorway (highway) at 70MPH (112KM/H) into some pretty large trees. Luckily (and I don't know how) I missed them and pretty much landed in between them. I had a bruised knee and slight whiplash. The thing is, it happened VERY slowly. But it couldn't have been anymore than a few seconds. That's about as 'scary' as my life has ever gotten. Thankfully.
  9. No , you really can't. IDE drives plugged in while the operating system is running would NOT be usable even if they didn't fry themselves. True dat, but you can still plug em in. =P~ I actually forgot... We never did plug in an IDE drive when the system was on... Just the power cable. :ohnoes: You've actually all made me curious. I'm thinking about trying this over the weekend. I have a spare 10GB IDE drive lying about and an old 1.2GHz Duron. I'll let you know if I blow it up (or kill myself). Edit: I reckon the only way possible if it works at all would be to use a true plug 'n'play OS like XP? Also plugging in the IDE cable without the power cable in and then attaching the power cable. This might actually allow XP to detect new hardware as if it was connected via USB. Then again, if it's not set in the BIOS... Maybe keeping it all on Auto settings? I wouldn't mind knowing how Shippou used to do it, just to keep me right. :P
  10. On a more serious note... NEVER! Honestly... NEVER! (Probably ever) plug in or remove a piece of internal hardware when your computer is running. Although what Shippou says to an extent is true, you CAN plug in IDE/SATA devices while a PC is running. It's just not advisable at all, and only should really be done while troubleshooting an existing problem. Ahhh the good old days, plugging in a seized hardrive (with the computer on) and hitting it with a hammer. :-$
  11. Yes, what they told you is true. Although you should believe them more than some random strangers over the internet... :-s I'm not exactly sure about ADSL2+, but ADSL used to have limits on cable length... And the filters on ALL phone sockets is a must. Just move the computer nearer to the line, or get the phone company in to move the socket nearer to the computer.
  12. I thought it was crap. No pun intended, had to have been one of the worst episodes I've seen.
  13. Madusqi! :ohnoes: Me? Oh... I'm bored. Oh so bored. Waiting in anticipation for breakfast time, then I'll want work... Then I'll definately want to go home to watch the latest episode of Smallville. Mmm Kara. Did I mention I was BORED! :wall:
  14. Any idea if 2.3 PTR has hit yet? I'm interested in seeing how much of a difference it'll make to levelling... If it doesn't make much difference I'll go ahead and level my level 18 and 55... If it does, I'll wait till 2.3 goes live. :)
  15. Like the Alliance really needed another FP in Azeroth. You have Westfall and Darkshire FP's to use! I suppose the only good thing about this, especially for Alliance lowbies will be the faster reinforcements when the Horde takeover Nessingwary's Camp with like 5 level 70's... :P
  16. Oh my! What are you thinking?! Playing a family friendly handheld console at school! You should be out getting drunk and taking drugs like all the 'cool' kids do. As for choice of games... Pokemon ftmfw (I play at work when I'm bored... ) *cough* 21 years old *cough*. :-w
  17. Several nice looking wimmins, super powered chicks... Already on my list of things to obtain every week. :) By the time it's released over here it'll probably be on the third season (If it takes off in the US). 8-)
  18. I was looking forward to this movie although I thought they put too much time into scaring the audience rather than continuing the storyline. To be honest I was hoping that Alice would have complete control over her powers after what happened to the security guard in the camera room at the end of the second film... Obviously if you're a zombie fan, you have to watch this... If you're looking for a movie to watch with friends or family, I'd give it a miss unless it's in the bargain bin. :|
  19. 600W in SLi mode then. 750W if you want to make sure... Although in my opinion it's WAAAAAY overkill. If you're gaming on it you might wanna look into getting a 10K raptor drive? Again, grossly overpriced.
  20. Much different, yes. Source is much more realistic in terms of graphics, but in terms of gameplay 1.6 is the one that's more realistic, mostly because of the way each weapon sprays. When I was actually good at Counterstrike... I remember going from 1.6 to CS:S. I was godlike. :P Pick up the M4 and headshot came flooding in. Just because it's so much easier to aim. Although now, I suck at both. Don't have the eyesight or reactions for games like that anymore. :(
  21. What a load of crap. You do know that computer components can just die? Usually due to overuse or heat. And if the computer was on all the time it might have just been too much for the stick to handle. There doesn't have to be a specific reason for it, I had to laugh at the technical explanation above though. You stick it into a slot, you switch on the PC. If it works who cares about voltage settings etc... Admittedly if he'd been overclocking with higher voltages it may have caused the RAM to give up quicker but if he had OC'd then he'd know a little about computers and wouldn't be asking questions in here. If you're going for new ram, go with identical pairs and buy branded memory. Corsair, Kingston, Crucial, GEIL, OCZ etc... I'm just rambling now... Have a nice day.
  22. Is there a reason for choosing a SLi board? If you're not gaming on it, selecting yourself a non-SLi board would save you a little of those precious dollars. Apart from that, pretty solid choices as I'd expect from you... :P Only thing I can suggest is maybe going for a Core 2 Duo instead of the AM2 AMD. Encoding videos in particular benefits from using the Intel chip. Might wanna have a look at some AM2 Vs Core2Duo reviews to get an idea of similar speed processors though. Only other improvement I can mention would be to get 2 1TB hardrives and RAID them. Probably put you way over budget though. I'd say a true 500W PSU should be enough for a system like that. The only time you really need more juice than 500W is if you use a second graphics card.
  23. I don't know how you came to that conclusion. Every server I've been on has had a much higher percentage of nice players (one's that help you if you're lost in Elwynn...), in fact I was quite shocked the first time I played the game and someone told me that I should start doing quests because it's faster than grinding the level 1-2 wolves in the starting zone. If you're stuck on a quest you get into general chat and ask. Usually if there's a higher level in the same zone they'll help you out. If you're about to die while attacking a mob and someone's passing, they'll help you kill it.
  24. Yeah, I've done that at least 3 times since I started playing on the PTR's... I think you could be a little more patient though. :P Not like it takes too much time. :ohnoes:
  25. Is it just me or does that look like a badger? I'm pretty sure it's just you Matt. :XD:
