Tutorial: Metal Wires (Intermediate)

This tutorial is for Photoshop 7+

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. Create a new document, make it 300x300

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Reset your brushes and chose the 5 pixel hard round brush. (Make sure the color is on black) Hold shift and draw a line down

3. Right click on that layer. Select blending options and use these settings

4. Now to rasterize this layer.. to do this, right click and select "group into smart object" then right click again and select "rasterize layer"

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

5. Go to filter>distort>shear and use these settings to get a wavy effect

6. Now go to image>rotate>90* CW

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And you have a metallic wire :P

What program is this? Photoshop? And what is the point of making what looks to me like a black line with intervals of black and white coloring about it?
