Runecrafting

fastest way is buying the essences and using runners (see many guides on that)

Now if money is an issue, Mine all the essence you want to RC in magic guild or in varrock) and bank them.

Then start RC them (through abyss if you can use it,with pouches when you will be able to use (magic requirement)

If you train well you will reach the magical dubble nats level and make like 4k nats /hour :3>

From level 2, a few loads of airs will bump the levels quickly. You can move up through the altars, though minds are a hell of a walk if you're only getting 1 rune per ess, and definitely not worth the trip for only 0.5xp more per ess.

Waters from Draynor bank or Wizards tower mine, Earths from Varrock east or Aubury, Fires from Al-Kharid (or dual arena teleport if member), Bodies from Edgeville.

Using cash-paid runners at low level will be fast but expensive XP. You cannot use runes-paid runners at low level, as you would not make enough runes.

Use lightweight kit, so you can maximize the amount of run you use - if you cannot bank everything, wear the lightest - random event clothing usually has no weight. Avoid combat, though the only combat random you are likely to meet while runecrafting is an evil chicken.

NB. The Rock Golem seems to have been removed from the essence mine, at least, since several updates ago, I've not seen one there at all.

Notes from me about this issue:

1.) Use "Edgeville Wildi Route" to runecraft mind runes at the "Mind RC Altar". Admittedly risky, but it saves an INSANE amount of time. You'll bump to Level 5 runecrafting pretty quick from there. :)

2.) I have seen "Rock Golem" at "Rune Ess Mine" a few times over the past several updates. He AIN'T gone... :(

3.) Now that "Lumbridge"/"Lumbridge Swamp" route is open, it is faster to runecraft from "Lumbridge Castle Bank" to "Water RC Altar".

4.) AVOID COMBAT (Unless you have "Protection Prayers" and a "Rune 2-Hander" with a minimum 'max hit' of 15...)

5.) IF you have like 20 mind/air/water/earth/fire/body tallys in bank, then go ahead and runecraft a tiara!!!

6.) I agree with Doomster on the Earth Rune Routes (From "Varrock East Bank"/"Direct from Aubury Rune Ess Teleport" To "Earth RC Altar"), Body Rune Route ("Edgeville" direct to "Body RC Altar"), and Fire Rune F2P Route ("Al-Kharid Bank" to "Fire RC Altar")...

7.) Once you hit RC Level 2, making airs is no longer a major necessity. Go buy an Air Staff!

I hope all this info helps...

Another thing, if getting runes matters as much or more than getting XP, then:

Always craft what you need and watch the multiple rune points.

Level:

1: Air

2: Mind

5: Water

9: Earth

11: Airs (2x - continues at multiples of 11)

14: Fire, Minds (2x - continues at multiples of 14)

19: Waters (2x)

20: Body

22: Airs (3x)

26: Earths (2x)

28: Minds (3x)

If you need an assortmen of runes, you should normally be doing the last one you reached the level fot, or the last one you reached the multiple level for - if you use a lot of airs & minds plus a staff, then airs from 11 to 14, minds from 14 to 20, a burst of bodies from 20 to 22, airs from 22 to 28, minds from 28 to 33.

You reach the point of needing to do 1-2k of ess between the "switch levels" if you stick to them, but careful switching will generate the highest numbers of wanted runes from the ess used.

You must have an interesting time training magic then, Doomster?

Personally, I just make the runes I need only, either in order of what I see I need, or from highest exp gain per ess to weakest exp gain per ess... I guess to each his own on exp-gaining styles... :-s

[Off-topic: Doomster, what a coincedence... I'm listening to music from the old "DooM" games, and I end up posting after you at the same shot!!! (Bah, *Boom!*, punned! #-o ...) ...]
