Player Owned Property (Different to current ones)

So this is my idea:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There are certain buildings or areas of land around the whole of Runescape, ownership of which can be traded between players in the form of a deed/contract.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

With the current POH's, all players go through the same portal to many identical plots of land which they can each edit. I am NOT suggesting to remove this. With my idea, there would be, for example, a house in Varrock which everyone can see, but only one person can own, and only they can edit. If the player then wanted to sell their ownership of this house, they could either sell the deed to another person, (as a regular tradeable item), or there could be some sort of system which the Estate Agent would handle.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For someone who owned one of these houses/plot of land, they could make it public or private, and choose whether or not their name was displayed publicly.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This idea would give some people a chance to stand out; that is, if you own one of these rare pieces of land or a house, people will know you. Of course, there could be the problem that the richest people in Runescape would own all the properties, but the owner at any time is under no obligation to sell should someone offer a high price for the deed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As for who would be the initial owners of the properties, the deeds could be selected randomly from a prize draw which you would have to enter in order to win, or they could be dropped by monsters, or something else. Any suggestions on this are welcome.

i hope you realize there would only be about 100 of these people, thus the prices would be way high, and it would be quite a pointless affair.

It wouldn't be pointless, as I mentioned, it allows people to stand out from the crowd, as currently every single thing in the game can be achieved by everyone, there are no limits. The only thing that is similar in this respect is the rares market.

The problem is then we would have to expand all the runescape land we have completly to some point that the area of varrock and falador combined would only be 1/10 of the new area of varrock..

 

 

 

So this would mean more walking and more use of law runes. Also how would this affect f2p since Jagex would never do this for f2p.. F2p willl be walking their behind off to get from point A to point B.

 

 

 

Then again, runescape would have a new edge and it would make it more of an adventure.

Make it so each world has different owners for different places. This would stop 2 things.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A) It would stop the price being ludicruously high for a plot.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

B) If someone wants to be in there property they can only be in one world at a time to show it off.

To be honest I don't think this is the kind of thing Jagex would ever put in to practice.

I dont think it would ever happen. I love this idea, i think it would make people stand out alot more. I think you should be able to change the exterior too. But this is the same thing as a house aint it? So, how about, a shop. You can buy your own shop, put in your own items, and have people buy it, without the items respawning. you can have your pipp killa general store of rares. So, I would just put in my items, and people buy them, and i put in more! or make, some thing. this, woulbe be very interesting. You should tax, land tax, like 10k a week, and if you were to sell the place, you should be able to. but, then again, this will cause jagex to change and update the game every time soebody buys, sells, and logs into the game. Becuase jagax has to change the terrian for the 6 million that play the game.

Good idea pipp! But I'm not sure they would have to update the game every time, it would just be an automatic change, the server wouldn't need to be taken offline.
