October 30, 200619 yr Hangin out for this album for a long time now, and im quite happy with it. Its lost the heavy singing, still retains the guitar and drumming, which now gives it a heavier, technically sound, and better than metallica sound. With hints of progressive metal, Sonata/DT'esque guitar work, it really is a fine album. My fave tracks are Ignition and The Rising. Share your thoughts here :)
October 30, 200619 yr Yeah I thought it was a good buy. I feel they went a bit too metalcore with Ascendancy. I liked the thrashiness of Ember to Inferno. This CD reignited that, thankfully. I could care less for the screaming as well, so that was a plus too. Metal fans, check out my band!Still the King....

October 31, 200619 yr I really hate it, i was mad about Ascendancy, but i turned the album off and gave it away after i heard the first few songs. :|

Share your thoughts here :) There is no way that this new stuff is better than Metallica. There's a difference between being the next Metallica (which Trivium aren't) and being the next wannabe Metallica (which Trivium are) And i agree with firepixel, the new stuff just isn't Trivium as i know it. Ascendancy is the Trivium i know and love, not this new stuff - bring back the screaming.
