I just picked up a "new to me" laptop -- it's a 2.0 Ghz Celeron (hey, it was free!) -- and for some odd reason, it won't run the Java for Ruescape on either I.E. or Firefox 2.0.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I can install Java just fine, it seems ...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I can get to Runescape, but after I select worlds, it either tries to re-install Java, or tells me I need to install Java, before it will work.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I've tried a variety of settings in the detail section, includng all the signed and unsigned Java selections.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I have tried uninstalling Java, and letting the browser do it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I've fiddled with a variety of "security settings" in I.E. to try to get the darn thing to work.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'm stumped campers -- any ideas?

uninstall java i know it sounds stupid, after uninstall run scan disk and defrag and reboot. after this reinstall java. It could be that the area java was installing on is corrupted or the file was corrupted this should fix the problem and if not you may want to consider the dreaded f-disk of the system... hopefully the person who sold it to you gave you the system disks

Is there anything that blocks your Java program {like a script blocker?}

 

 

 

There could be something that wasn't set up right or that stops you from using that program.

If none of that works, you may want to consider switching the default to Sun Java.
