If AUD is anything close to the dollar it seems high though. 260 for the GS? Edit: Nvm at newegg it's 206 dollars, so that doesn't seem bad. Try looking at benchmarks at tomshardware.com (It's not working atm for me :s) but I'm next to positibe an ATI card would be much better for your price. Alternatively, if you've got DirectX 10 hardware support in mind, the 8000 series has it. They should be releasing the low-cost 8000 series cards very soon. Not all do. Or, at the very least, they don't all support Crossfire. I didnt look down the lane too deeply for motherboards because i found the perfect one for me quite quickly. Joe you were right in the begining, if you have a PCI-E Slot, and the card is PCI-E, it wont matter the brand name... the only thing you have to be sure of is if the card is AGP, PCI, or PCI-E, and that the power supply will support the card. ... But you're not doing that, so forget i said anything :P I have one question for you though, would you be comfortable building your own system from scratch? However, by researching and reading a view guides i managed to put together my comp :-) Easy peasy! Honestly i was shocked how easy it was while i did it systematically. There are a few precautions though you'll need to read about. And there is a little work reading your mobo manual beforehand. In the end it's definetly worth it and was really happy so many people hounded at me to build not buy. However, i don't know if aussies have any individual parts sellers. In US it's *DEFINETLY* worth it, but i wouldn't know how easy it is to get the parts in Roo'land [i can't say say Aus**** because I'm jealous you live there. Stuart_G Posted November 20, 2006 Share Posted November 20, 2006 Add to that an Antec TruePower II-550 Watt PSU, which will take the total price up to $2334.50 and you've got something that will pretty much equal the computer listed in the original post. It has the same 12 month warranty as the other site aswell. Personally, i would go with the set up i listed as its a Core 2 Duo rig and i feel the parts i listed would be better than their system.
