You need to optimize/compress the image in some way. What program are you using?

im using firworks at the moment but next week hopefully moving o adobe photoshop 7.0

Sorry, I'm not farmiliar with Fireworks, I can help you when you move to Photoshop, though..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the meantime, search the fireworks help file for either compression or optimization, and see if anything turns up.

Fireworks is actually great for resizing. When you want to export your image, do the following.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. File >> Export Preview

 

 

 

2. You can then select either .gif, .jpg, and several other options and sub-options.

 

 

 

3. If you choose .gif, you can reduce the number of colors. If you choose .jpg, reduce the quality.
