I've gotten past the circular area with troll rock throwers, were the guide says "go round till you get the the northwest paths, then take it." Don't know which path to take, because right now, I'm as far as the ice path, and the map of the game, says that I should have gone to the southwest path. were do I go?

once past the throwers you get the path that leads up to the ice cave, used in DT quest, or south to troll stronghold.
