  1. This is the one thing I really dont get about everyone and there "Great Solution" of either "perfect" capatilism or Letting you pick and choose. Where has anyone seen the "ideal" free market on an online game? Most peoples answers seem to be WoW, but thats just not true. All of WoW's auction houses (GE equivalent) are only done on a server by server basis, and every server has a diffrent economy. Co-ordinating the interactions between 200,000 players (minimum) at once would take up unbelievable amounts of server space. The kids at Jagx would have to buy a lot more, and a lot more expensive servers. I'm sure they would have loved to have made everything much more indepth, but they just didn't have the capabilities. They just had to keep a lot of this simple, and as much so as possible. The only two things that I would think they'd be able to do that would help the GE would be this A) The 5% thing is kind of ridiculus. 10% would even out whatever parts of the GE economy they've screwed up a lot faster. B) I'd personally like to see them make it so bidding higher has a purpose on a lot more things. This is how I would do it. Make it so that when the server "matches" orders, higher priced buyers are given first priority, and if there isnt a "perfect" match, then the server precedes to automatically take the closest match thats under what the buyer stated until the overpaying buyer has a filled order. It then completes the order as though it found a perfect match, giving both the overpaying buyer and the seller whatever money they originally thought they were getting. This would also filter money back out of the economy, and encourage paying higher amounts then necessary because it means you'd definatly get you're buying order filled if you payed max, assuming theres that many of whatever item on the market. I'll do an example. John is looking for Nature ruins to High Alch the yew longs he made getting to 99 fletching. He'll gladly pay the highest price in this condition, because even if he offers the GE's max for Nat's, he'll still make money. He wants 100,000 nats, and the GE's max price is 310. He'll be paying 31Mil for these nats. Bill and Kyle are both selling Nats, and there willing for a little longer wait, so Kyle puts his 40,000 Nats up for the 310ea max, and Bill puts his 60,000 up for 300 ea. This means Kyle will make 12.4 Mil, and Bill will make 18Mil. The GE's server matches John up with Kyle first, taking all of Kyles 40,000 Nats and giving him 12.4Mil in return. John loses 12.4mil but gets those 40k Nats. Now the GE server recongnizes John still needs 60,000 Nats, and see's no one else selling at 310, so it bumps it down to the next teir down, which happens to be Bill at 300 ea. So The server gives John Bill's 60k Nats, costing John all the rest of the money he offered, so its like he's buying at 310 ea still. Bill only gets what he was selling for though, 300 ea. The Server takes Johns money (18.6Mil) And gives 18Mil to Bill, then throws out or "deletes" the 600k diffrence. This takes 600k out of the economy, and helps balance everything as a whole. ~This is all just my idea though, I dont know if it'd actually solve anything faster. Comments are welcom :)
  2. I'm questioning whether to smith darts or knives, in iron of course. I'd get 42k darts, or 21k iron knives. But I'd have to get feathers for the darts, so I was wondering how many feathers each dart took? One? three? five? And how exactly are darts in compared with iron knives as far as ranging is concerned? Slower/faster? More/less powerful? Faster then magic short on rapid? ty, lastbreath
  3. Self explanitory. I'm getting to 70 mining, have 1k iron ores left to gather. then working my smithing to 60 with that and a few Rings of forging. In the end I'll have 16,500 Iron knives. I beleive this will be overkill, but regardless I was wondering how many knives I'd need for 66 - 70. I'll probably be training at fire giants, and be picking up whatever I can. all of this is on rapid anyway. Mostly I'm wondering how many I'll have left to sell for cash at the end, if any. thanks in advance, Last Breath
  4. Well, you could always buy all the runes to get a mage book at the mage training arena, I mean, assuing you dont just enchant all dragonstones in the enchanting arena, you'll make that 500 some thousand experience, and make money ontop of it. It'll take you about 18 hours of work though, but that still may be faster. Idk
  5. Another tip, from a healer- Please, dear god, don't mage in the last round. I'm tired of seeing attackers in black dhide bottems come in and get completly destroyed, then blaming me. I'm sorry, I'm not the source of the water of life, if you lose more then 80 hp in the time that it takes from me to run all the way to the pool and heal you again, well, sucks to be you. Its not my problem. Escpecially considering your not the only one on earth that needs the healing -_- and incase anyone was dougting, you do indeed need 2 healers for the last round, all the rest you can stumble through without 2, even though round 8 and 9 go by a lot smoother with 2. I got my team of 1 attacker, 1 defender, 2 collectors, and me, a level 2 healer at the time, up until everything but the stupid spawns were killed, and I just didn't have enough time to heal everyone, heal myself, dip the egg in poisen, come back, heal everyone, give egg to attacker, heal myself, and heal everyone again. thank god our defender was awesome. And well I do believe a safe area for all the kids to run to when they need healing is good, I beleive the pool is better then the cannon in round 10, Theres so much healing going on that even with 2 healers, the extra time it takes to run to the cannon and back risks death quite a bit. it also makes it so we can just drink out of the pool once and then keep healing everyone, instead of having to drink until high health to make the run to the cannon. but the main thing is having a safezone, and making sure your running to it when you have higher then 9 hp. If something can lucky hit you for the damage you have left, I think its a good sign that you should have ran to the safezone earlier.
  6. took me about 1k reds to get from 55 to 62, if that helps. I suggest just killing red fire giants until 55. really, no one sells normals.
  7. My thoughts- I've gone through wave 6, and I've redone all the waves many times, as I never found myself confident enough to heal by myself after wave 6. Part of this is because our Defender was getting the holy hell beat out of him, and because one of the attackers was in his 70's. Me, being 79, found that healer was a pain role to get used to doing everything in (now level 2, hoping to get it to max eventually, then work on collector). I felt bad not killing the healers when I could, but meh. Sometimes you dont have time. You need to have a good team for this game, after wave 6, if you have one weak point, and that weakpoint just happens to not be a second healer, you're screwed. I do however, think that the previously stated 100+ rule was a little harsh. Honestly, 80+ should have no troubles, except for the attacker of course, who should be as high as humanly possible to make the game go smoothly and not cause severe anerisms in the healer. The collector is possibly the easiest role I've seen, as they don't really *need* to do anything, as most of the people are out doing there job for the thick parts of the action, not opperating the cannon. There main purpose is basically to yell out what the attackers supposed to do. And maybe collect the red eggs when they come around. The defender needs to get points in all of the four areas for his job to be worth it. Albiet, unless you run into the middle, you probably wont die, actually getting the little buggers to follow your trail is probably the equivalent of your computer lagging in Dharoks tomb. If you don't know how to do your job, and refuse to listin, The healers will hate you and you probably will die, but thats besides the point. Start this skill on wave 1, really. The Attacker should be using a whip, skimmy, dds, or something of such that gives the combination of all four choices, and he should be super high level, and willing to run back a little bit to perhaps not get the healer killed if he's getting down on his health. The Healer is the most awesome job ever, and its the hardest job on earth to do, with only the most awesome and prestigious able to do it ever, and no one else should even try it. Kidding, Healer isn't to difficult if you shout out to the defender what to do, and if you know how to use your vial of holy juice effectivly. Which given the bar that blocks up a fifth of your screen, isn't that hard to do until wave 6. then you have to pay attention to heal effectivly. Killing the Healers isn't really first priority, which is nice, because normally the defender just doesn't want to blow his horn as I've found. If you have to, you can just guess what he healers poisen is, as its not *that* big of a penalty. Anyway, Does anyone know if the points drain? As I've managed to go from getting 40 points a game to 10, albiet all I do is repeat the same waves over and over. I'll do this until I get 3 healer, then I'll start caring and beat the queen. I figure by then I should be good enough to actually help.
  8. Ty, I currently have 59 rcing, only a few thousand nats from 60, so yeah, I'm training that, and profiting off of it. (main money source) But thats kind of a cascade skill, I can buy 1k p ess, craft, us that money to buy more, ect. Construction is what I was leaning towards too. I have guessed that 3.5 mil would get me to about 69 pretty quickly. any more suggestions?
  9. Well now, I'm curretly about level 60 magic, and am planning on spending about 450k on p ess to runecraft into the runes I'll need to get a mage book in the training arena. This will net me about 500k experience, enough to get me to 70-71 magic. Besides this, I can sell the book for a little over 4 mil. My question is, what should I do with this money? (1)I imagine that 4 mil would be enough to raise m construction from 1 to 69, the level needed to get a guilded alter and all that jazz, assuming I used all the boosts I could find. I'm tempted to go this way, but theres many more I can choose from (2)I could cannon my way to 70 range, I'm currently at 62 range, and have absolutly no idea how much money this would take, but I imagine 4 mil would be enough. (3)Runecraft a little and buy a fury. That'd be fun to lose (4)This is the idea that I need some help with. I could blow all bu a little of the 4 mil in some fast experience mage training. Really, I'd love to choose this option, but I have no idea what the fast mage training would be. I could curse train, considering I'd have the money for a mudstaff, or I could high alch, anything such as that. My goal in this account is to get to 85 mage, then much later, to 92, or whatever the level required is for ice Barrage. Notes- My RS name is Entranti, I'm level 78 or 79, don't know if the pray level upped me or not. I have a whip already, and have had one for quite awhile. I have 55 slayer, and 43 pray. Thats all I can really think of off the top of my head that you would want to look up my stats for. so all help is appreciated BTW- if you have ideas, tell them please, really, past getting that mage book and selling it, I'm clueless as to what I want to do. If you do have an idea, p[lease say why it'd be useful :) thanks Lastbreath
  10. i did level 27 minotaurs in stronghold of security from 44-50. But i juxst did them because of the iron arrow drops. There still not terrible experience. Anoku's arent terrible either, just a bit trickier
  11. I remember hearing that each god spell from the mage arena in wildy had a special effect when used against other players, like Zammy reduced attack, Sara reduced def, Guthix reduced something non important like range, and such things as that. I was woundering if this was true, and in all, what they were, because I have gotten the Sara and Zammy ones, and would like to know the diffrence, and if its worth it to get the guthix one. TY- lastbreath
  12. I died in the middle of it, and need to get the pendant of lucien back. I've talked to lucien in both his spots, niether version will give me one back, I've checked the quest guide and the item database, and theres nothing. please help
  13. I've gotten 10 pc points out of a world before I've had to switch, albiet I know that pc would be my best bet, I've pc'd enough, and I will be pc'ing a lot more. I'll do it if I have to, but relaly, I'd just like a break. So any other suggestions? Edit: Lessers eh? I'll try that, depending on how my luck goes with these fire giants edit2: Nevermind the fire giants, unless I feel like going back to brimhaven, which I don't, there out of m spectrum. I really dont feel liike getting that glrials ammy back. in other news, My father offered to pay half of the diffrence on an 80 gb Ipod video, I have a 100$ giftcard, so that would knock it from 350 to 250. Is an 80gb worth $125?
  14. that would require roughly 75 pest points, which, being only level 77, would take me like, 4-5 hours to get. I've tried it, and I don't like it. However, ironicly enough, I'm training for 55 so I can use red chinchompas at pest control, which is how I plan to get to 70.
  15. I have 52 range, and would like to have 55, I know this isn't a large jump, but I was woundering what the best training spot would be. my combat level is 77, if that helps anything. Brimhaven's firegiants have been suggested, but the dogs are too annoying for me, I was thinknig waterfall fire's, as I only need to kill 88 accourding to the tip it calc. But meh, suggest away.
  16. your spending a total of 850gp per alch you do, and you recieve 768 gp back (assuming your talking about strung yew longs) So thats a diffrence of what, 82 gp? 82gp multipled by 100,000 is 8,200,000 or rather 8.2 mil, which will be your total amount of money spent by the end of this journy. Your going to have lots of fun doing this, buying all the materials in 10k amounts at a time, and later, in 5k amounts. But all that is up to you. Yes it can be done. Ps- With the runecrafting method, you would get to roughly 80 rcing. or you could do it later, and simply make 45mil. (30mil pure profit, or rather, 30.3mil if you count the pure ess you already have)
  17. Google it. thats what I did for years in school, with just about every website ever. not that hard.
  18. I meant for your entire time there you have a less then 10% chance of getting one, not in general. Getting half shield drops suck because of how low the chances are on most monsters, because most monsters that drop any form of gem, also drop left shields. Good luck though.
  19. I heard the odds on monsters below level like, 50, was about 1 in 541,000, and above 50 I believe it was 1 in 133,000. there are monsters (shadow warriors) that drop the shild half a lot more often, but chaos druids are not in those catagory of monsters. So you havel ess then a 10% chance
  20. I currently have 56 runecrafting, and am crafting laws through the castle wars to entranta method using baloons and dueling rings. while doing this my large pouch degraded so I decided to go to the abyss for one run. I did so, and as has happened very often of the time, I died in the abyss, simply because the game placed me on the wrong side of the map and I had an unlucky spree of failing, luckily, unlike the last time, I was able to get my glory back so I have 7 again, and thus have enough to craft about 1k ess before refilling. thing is, is tha every other time I've gone to the abyss to get my pouches back, I've gotten them all using just afull load of salmon or cheap food and my normal abss attire of full green D hide and a dlong. It normally takes an hour, but I do it. I wear a ring of wealth, but I don't think this helps. I just spent an hour in the Alternate abyss, which is gottten to through the coordanates ALR on fairy rings. this is a nicer place, but my question is, was it just me, or was there no way to repair my pouches here, and Do the leeches here in the alt abyss still drop pouches. Because I haven't gotten one yet, and I want them back soon, so I can keep crafting my 6k p ess to laws and get my whip finally. thank you for the help LastBreath
  21. well, i havent actually used the forums to sell laws, but its just because i have been able to sell on busy worlds fast. so now i guess that its just a question of how fast i could sell 2k laws for 1kea, or how fast i could make 6 or 7k laws..... Stupid whips costing so much
  22. With all pouches its possible to craft 2k p ess to nats an hour, which turns out to be 4k nats. Meaning 91 runecrafting pumps out 1.2 mil an hour at max However, I do beilieve gettng to 91 runecrafting is something such as 600,000 crafted nats. Requires a lot of concentration
  23. Hello all, I have a few questions, but the first thing that you should know is that m entire goal with all of this is to get a whip, which I imagine I can get with 1.8 mil, however, to make things easier, I'll refer to my target amount as 2 mil. If you don't want to read, just skip to the three ---- markied paragraphs. I'm a law crafter, albiet not a vetran one (55 runecrafting only) as I've only made possibly 3k laws. I make these through castle wars to baloon to entranta method, which yeilds a grand total of 42 per run, or, about 1100 an hour, so to make it easier, 1k an hour. I do this instead of abyss because my current computer lags sometimes, and I figure its better to be safe then sorry. This is where the first problem comes in, I have been selling laws for 350ea, which has been going fine, they sell about as well as nats, they would sell better, but I don't feel like selling to the kids that go " I wanna buy 27." So I make it an all or nothing deal. And as I've said, this has been going well. The problem is that I've never seen someone sell for that low, its always been 400ea at the lowest, with 500ea being average, and 1000ea being close behind these. I sit back and wounder how these would ever sell at these prices, but aparently they do. So, finally, the problem ----What should I sell my laws for? And how should I sell them. I have a feeling all or nothing is a bad thing to do, but at 350 ea, I feel like I'm giving a very good deal with what I've seen all the time, in the years I've been playing. ----For the 2 mil goal I have, would it be faster for me to make 6k laws and sell for 350 ea, (a total of 2.1mil, so good enough to give me mone to make more laws, and get more money with the whip) ----Or should I make 2k laws, and simply sell for 1k ea until I sell them all, making the 2 million, after what I imagine will be a long, annoying, noob filled wait. I have a feeling that by the end of this "I wanna buy 27" is either going to be a rejoicing factor, or a hated devil. Last Breath
  24. Flaming for various homework workloads is an unfair way to judge. All countries have severly diffrent work requirments for a lot of things, including homework in schools. Eh, most schools have diffrent homework amounts given then other schools. Taking someone else and putting them in your situation and expecting it to be exactly the same shows a small knowledge of the world and subject your doing it to. Don't critisize, its just an open invitation to put your foot in your mouth. Edit: And it'd be best to not get onto topics such as "why won't time last forever" because all that will end up spawning is various religous and scientific responsises. These are neverending fights, because normally the people who talk most know the least, and the ones that stay quiet are smart enough to realize no ones going to change there mind.
  25. You could always just get into the command prompt, run various files to go to the internet with a proxy site, disconnect from the network, and play runescape. thats what I do if I'm ever ridiculusly bored in computer class, and have everything done. Unfortunatly I don't believe that telling you how to do any of this would be the right decision, as most schools will suspend you if they find out. Everyone else is right, schools more important.
