everytime the update icon pop up, i click install, and guess wat.. nothing happens.. after 2 mins it just disappear.. adn next day the same icon pop up again... i tried to disable norton but didn't seems to help.. any1 know wats the problem? can i get the update from java website? is so.. where? cuz i didn't find it..lol

I think it's actually Windows which needs updating when that comes up.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I installed it from the Microsoft Website, and it then stopped.

i did update..my computer is up to date..still cant install...

same thing is happening to me ill tell you if i can figure it out

You both will most likely be best off just uninstalling the current version and reinstalling fresh with the latest version from suns website. It'll save the headache of trying to troubleshoot why and gets you to the same end, an up to date Java install.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sun's java installers are found here. You'll want "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 10" (5th item down). Click download, accept the licence on the page and install one of the two options (they're both the same thing, one is an offline install, the other downloads while installing).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After installing you should be good to go. :mrgreen:
