Player made guides- sub forum

Featured Replies

I was going through some of the Player-made guides, and noticed quite a few really short ones. So I was thinking, why not make a "Tip forum" All the small guides, such as making money (if there's only one way given) or leveling firemaking by buying willows.

Also, there are quite a few barrows guides. Could you make a separate forum specifically for them?

These seem like the two biggest problems in that forum.

Thank you for considering my suggestion,

I think that if subforums for the Player Made Guides were created, there should be more than just those two. Maybe catagories such as:

-Skill Guides

-Monster-Killing Guides

-Money Making Guides

-Mini Game Guides

-Other Guides

Or something along the lines of that :P Might be a lot of work but would certainly make that section of the forums a bit more organized.

yeah, those 5 seem pretty good, if they are combined with my 2. I think that that forum is too chaotic as it is now, and it's too hard to find what you need.

Hrm.

I won't argue that it's difficult to "find what you need" in the Player Made Guides (PMG) forum.

I'd be delighted to consider suggestions on how to make this forum more usable - deleting all of the guides in it doesn't seem to be an option .

Generally, the most effective Monster Killing guides are already in the Archive of Wisdom (and several of these are slated to be added to the website, like the recent Dagganoth Kings guide).

Except for Barrows which requires strategy/planning (several guides are already included in the AOW), I don't see the need for most of the minigame and quest guides in the PMG forum. If a Tip.It website guide needs changes, users should post in the Website Updates forum topic so we can add them, not write a new guide :(.

I've not been excited by any of the "money-making" guides I've read, but that may just be personal prejudice on my part. Other than "buy low, sell high" they don't seem useful. And any price data becomes obsolete as the market changes.

That leaves Skill Guides, which is basically all that's left after my categorizing above ...

I'm open to additional suggestions for the PMG forum.

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.
