Newcomer suggestion ( and discussion )

Featured Replies

I recently began a pure ( who somehow has 2 defence...... ) and I noticed that split-private chat is off. So I said, " so thats why my friend never saw anything I pmed him " ( my friend just started ( lvl 40 in.....3 days ) and I pmed him and gave him advice and he's all like " you never give me advice, and you never talk to me!!!". But I guess he just doesnt see it because split private is off.

Now, has this happened to you? you add someone to your list, and you tell them something, but since split-private is off, they dont see it? Well this is my idea, make split-private chat the default chat mode. This way we can help newcomers.

MY REASONS:

1) see above

2) A lot of people I know quit because they couldnt understand the game ( I know wierd huh? ) If They can see the advice others give to them, maybe they wouldnt quit. That means Jagex gets more potentail members.

3) Notice it says split-prvate chat on/off. This is already inferring that Jagex wants new players ( or players in general ), to use split-chat.

4)Many times one player types something at someone else, but the other player types something before them. With split, you can see that message before you type, and In many cases this saves time.

5)Unlike many belive, split DOES NOT completely block the lower left screen corner.

THE SUGGESTIONS:

1) make split the defualt

2) Have the monk on tutorail island teach about split chat.

This should give Jagex something to do during that lunch break ( at least for 5 minutes ), doesnt take long, and helps them, and us, a lot.

Thank you, and If you do post, tell me if you use split or not ( thats the discussion part, not much but I dont know what else it counts as ). Also im curious to know why peope dont use split, so If you dont, please tell me why.

PS-For everyone who is about to flame, Ill have you know I have a very handy bucket of water next to me, so flame away.

I always use split..that's so I can still "hear" my friend at world 16 air alter.

thanks to everyone who made me a sig

Lol, I've always had it off. On crowded worlds/places, I just put my public to hide...And besides, I don't have THAT many friends in RuneScape.

I don't know about the part with split being default, but having the monk describe EVERY BUTTON on the options interface is good.

Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.

Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu.

I'll switch to the normal way if i miss something my friend says on the split. (since it only has 5 lines of text)
