Dave4got Posted December 31, 2006 Share Posted December 31, 2006 I have a gateway laptop model MX6121, the screen isnt working buto on the front the batery and power light are on. But usually when the power is on the light around the power button is on but that isnt working either, Ok i tried that power drain thing. didnt work but now the power button light is working. The monitor still isnt. So i pressed the fn+f4 thing, that did do anything. Also, I just hooked my desktop monitor to it and it wont work either. If so, did you by any chance have a problem with bad weather in your area (thunder storms etc.) and is it on a surge protector Also, how long have you owned the computer? Cruiser Posted December 31, 2006 Share Posted December 31, 2006 If the screen has gone black and doing hard restarts (dropping power, pulling the battery) doesn't bring it back (no POST messages on the screen during boot), you most likely have a dead LCD.
