Make a professional sig-shop (Guide)

So Ok, you have been making sigs for a while now and you think you are ready to be able to sell them? As to say "get pro".

For me, as an outsider there isn't much more unprofessional than say you have a sig-shop, and then the forum is hosting it.

So to get a more serious and professional look, my main advice is to create your own webpage!

This might sound hard but it isn't at all. I will guide you through the basic steps:

1.Create your own site

2.Get it hosted

3.What now?!

1. Create your own site

To be able to create a site of your own, you must know what a website consists of. A website usually contains a couple of html documents, some pictures and maybe something more. These sites are linked to each other in one way or another but more on that later.

What we are going to do now is concentrate on making a very basic site. So load up a text editor, preferably Notepad. Now comes the most important thing, whenever you save your document save it with the file extension .html

Well now should have an opened document in front of you, saved as ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åsomething.html̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

Nice guide! I am myself a sig artist and interested in web design. I do however not like your selection of free hosts. Try The Free Site's section on free web space. It is the best I know of, and has links to even bigger directorys of free web space providers.

Also, you might want to post some links on HTML help.

Lissa Explains (Somewhat girly, but good and simple).

I was thinking of writing another guide, that would go a little more deep into html and introduce css. If it is wanted? Or can I write a guide exclusivley to something else, you show me idea of what you want to know :)

bah, buyers dont want to go to a different site for a freaking sig.

i assure you 50% of your business would be gone because of that.

i could careless about it looking professional, as long as its organized and your getting customers then its fine.

It's nice to see someone contribute to the community, but.

How can they bid on sigs on seperate site? You cannot know who made the bid as it hasn't got the same user database as TIF. They would have to register on your site too? Or would it be only for the purpose of showing examples? Where do you need the site anyway?

Yeah, good point. I never thought of that.

1525, Yea I'm back!, Only at the Media and OffTopic board though. :P

If you guys really are interested I might try to create such a script?

It would be nice because I need something motivating to do in school, because I'm going to class for Php, but isn't allowed to attend, because me and some other guys are reading it from home as we say. So it will be in php.

Please post here if you are interested.
