Athebaldt
Hello fellow Tip'ers! I am Athebaldt and I'm relatively new to this network but one question has been preying on my mind, and that is which P2P game should I play? I have just started playing RuneScape, a rather poor quality game but addicting nonetheless but I really need to spend my time playing games that are worthwhile and for me, they are the P2P games. But which one? I am looking for a P2P game which, a) provides game time cards and B) is rather easy to settle in to - friendly community, good economy. Can you help me decide? Lionheart_0
I would have to say, WoW would be your best bet. I costs the about the same as any other MMORPG, and thats about 15$ a month. There is a huge world to explore, not to mention a huge population of players. There are many things to do in the game, more then most games. Also, the PvP is also a good deal in the game. The game mostly revolves around the events after the third war, and the two factions (horde and alliance) are still kinda at war (Even if there is a truce). You can go places and have battles in the battle grounds (Like castle wars) or just go out into the world and kill the opposite faction. This also brings up a good point that the quests and basic story are also really good. Id also like to point out there is only 1 expansion pack (Coming out in about 1 week) and most other games have about 3-4 expansion out already (FFXI, Guild wars.) This should cut down on the costs alot more then other games. (WoW its self right now is about 20$ :P) Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! Athebaldt
Thanks for the reply. It was going to come down to Lineage II and World of Warcraft in the end. My friend plays L2 and he has bought in-game items with real money because of the high prices for items and scrolls. For me, this is a big turn off. I have my eyes on the Burning Crusade expansion for WoW, will I still need to purchase the original to access all of the features or does the expansion (collector's edition) include the original copy of WoW aswell? On top of that, is the in-game economy thriving? I really don't want to pay more than is needed to be able to advance in the game.

The special edition just comes with two copy's of the BC (one on cd and the other on DVD) I dont know really how to answer the question on the economy. Ive played only for a few months, and it seems to me that the economy is fine, and everyone is happy with prices. Most people end up not even buying much of anything in game unless they got a couple extra gold to throw around. Most of the time people get their equipment from the drops off monsters. Its not as hard to get a rare in the game as in RS. Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! Behave or I will send my Moose mounted Beaver launchers at you! Nadril
Deffinitly WoW over Lineage II, especialy for someone who is generaly new to the world of MMO's. Lineage II is a good game, I'll give you that. However retail for L2 is so screwed up these days with the tons of bots running around that it is nearly impossible to get your equipment. I managed to get to level 51 in Lineage II and it was getting to the point that I would have to grind *all* day for about 8-12 hours to get a level/close to a level. The game only gets worse when you get closer and closer to the games cap of level 78 as well, where mobs will start giving you something like .01% per kill. It really is not a newbie friendly game, and i would only recomend it to someone who can stick it through all of the grind to be treated to the amazing end game the game offers. Athebaldt
That's good to know. I'm not sure whether to buy the collector's edition as the only thing it offers is the free pet, wyrmling or whatever it is. Maybe I'm better buying the standard edition plus the copy of the original WoW from my local game store. Well, I have a coulple of weeks to decide as it is only released after 18th. Nadril
The standard is probaly fine. :) If you enjoy PvP (and are in the U.S) join burning blade on the horde side. :D
