February 4, 200719 yr Okay, so I've decided to save myself millions and cut my own High Alchemy for 99 Magic. I'm not worried about the time consumption of the situation, I just want to save as much money as I can. Now here is some things I need to know about: 1)What level to stop cutting Maples/Willows and to start on Yews? 2)Where is faster cutting/banking area - F2P & P2P both? 3)Will Dragon Axe make alot of difference? 4)How many Yews can I cut average on an hourly basis? Plus any other suggestions/advice on the situation would be great! Thanks!
February 4, 200719 yr 1)What level to stop cutting Maples/Willows and to start on Yews? 60... if you rly want to save yews, then start on that asap, it will be slow at first though 2)Where is faster cutting/banking area - F2P & P2P both? edgeville 3)Will Dragon Axe make alot of difference? Not when your around 85+ 4)How many Yews can I cut average on an hourly basis? idk, depends on level, i never actually had the patience to wc for an hour straight =) i buy my lumber
February 4, 200719 yr I think you're making a very common mistake, thinking you're making more money by doing something yourself, when you should actually be doing the thing that makes you the most money per hour. Lets say you craft Nature Runes and make 100K/hour. I have 75 WC and cut Yews, and cut 200 Yews/hour. At the end of that hour, you can go buy 200 Yews, and still have 40K left over. Who is actually saving more money? EDIT: But to answer your specific questions: 1) At 76 WC it took me 10 minutes to get a full load of Yews with a Dragon Axe. That was 170 Yews/hour. 2) P2P Tree Gnome Stronghold, without question. 3) I think it depends on your level. It makes a noticeable difference for me in the mid-70s cutting yews 4) See above.

February 4, 200719 yr 1. 70 2. p2p 3. alot of diff prob 75+an hour 4. about 300-400 Forgive me for questioning you, but what are you basing this on? I'm actually cutting Yews right now with a Dragon Axe, with 78 Woodcutting, and it's about 9-10 minutes per load. That's maybe 160 yews/hour, and that's with little-to-no competition, and using my own home-grown Yew in the Gnome Stronghold (as well as three others over there). Am I doing something wrong? Because everyone I"m cutting with is getting similar production...

February 4, 200719 yr Author I think you're making a very common mistake, thinking you're making more money by doing something yourself, when you should actually be doing the thing that makes you the most money per hour. Who is actually saving more money? Don't get me wrong, I understand that. However, this is a good motivational to pump my skills and save money I don't even have. What I mean by that is the fact that I'll have to buy the yew longs/natures in sections at a time due to financial issues. Whereas if I cut all the yews, I'll not only get all the longs at once, but also pump my Woodcutting. It would make more sense to buy it all, and save alot of time .. but I figured doing it myself would be the best way. So, from the advice given .. should I get a Dragon Axe early on, but then sell it after I get a certain level? And where are the Yews from the Gnome Stronghold Bank?
February 4, 200719 yr personally i would say that using a daxe is really helpfull early on and to maximize ur profit i would buy it and keep it untill your goal is done. I say this because even though it doesnt make much of a difference past 85 wc, it still does make a difference. To tell the tructh though i would reccomend the yews behind seers bank instead. 26M Crafting XP
