[Stormhammer] Landscape collab.

Featured Replies

Well, since Nadril is too much of a lazy noob (keeps logging out on me!), I will be the daddy f-word billy goat and post this.

It was to begin with a projekt between 1252 (aka ". Scott") and Nadril. 1525 did the base render, sent it to Nadril who did... uh... something to it in Terragen-or-whatever-it's-called. Either way, I figured the result was pretty badass, so I asked if I could go crazy with it.

Anyway, here's the NadCal-render (before I laid my filthy hands on it):

And here it is after I'd worked my magic:

Whether or not it's better, I frankly don't know. But I like it, and so do others I've shown it to. So... yeah...

Feel free to... do your thing.

Pretty nice editing :D I think its a bit bright and soft for a realistic landscape, but its kinda looking pretty 'fantasy'-like right now :P Great job on the clouds, though!

And it would look great as a sig or avatar, especially if you added a little bit of darkness with Curves or somethin.

  • Author

I tried making it a sig... but, like you implied, everything just looks... like it melts together; possibly 'cause of the lack of "dark" spots, there's no real distinction between the sky and mountain.

And "fantasy" was the look I was going for. :)

Thanks.

Sweet! Good job mate. Proud to see something I helped with turn into something so wicked.

Heh, thanks a lot man! But you really don't have anyone to thank but yourself. That's one killed render.

And that's coming from a guy who isn't a fan of landscapes at all.

Kudo's my friend. :)

You didn't really do anything other than duplicate a few overlayed gaussian layers, slashed some brush streaks across the show, and banged some clouds in the back there. Maybe if it was pulled off better it might have had a better outcome. My conclusion, it was rushed, and your magic wand is broken.

I love it!

  • Author

Entangle, well, believe it or not, I did a lot more than duplicating a few layers.

But maybe you're right, it could've been executed a lot better. But maybe it's 'cause this was my very first landscape piece.

As for my "broken magic wand", I didn't use that. :P

Anyway, thanks for the honest critique, I guess.

Thanks 2u2 Armour.
