February 15, 200719 yr You can't protect an actual file with a password, unless you have some kind of third party program added on. You can however make a folder private, so that you can only view the files when logged on to your user account.
February 15, 200719 yr Add the files that you want password protected to a zipped file,( NEW > compressed) then open up the zipped file and click FILE, and it should say something about a password there, if you add a pass it will affect all the files you put in this zipped file. *note, im not EXACTLY where in FILE it has the password options because i recently downloaded winrar and its a bit different. February 15, 200719 yr Using a compressed folder still allows you to view the contents of the folder, just not open the files individually.
