February 16, 200719 yr i own a laptop with a wide screen and i also like viewing this site and wikipedia while playing runescape and doing things like alching etc. i have been trying shrinking the rs window down to say, 80% size so i can still alch but have more room to view pages. i have tried changing the screen resolution, the dpi settings and using ie7's zoom feature to zoom in the screen. but none of these seem to work. is there some way i can do this?
February 16, 200719 yr I dont know about shrinking Runescape i Think it depends on your screen but if you use ie7's tabbed browsing you can switch between your windows with almost no lag.
February 17, 200719 yr Author tabbing isnt the problem, i need to be able to alch and read at the same time, without using my desktop which has 2 screens
February 19, 200719 yr 3rd screen? You cant minimize the applet (runescape in this case) lower than the set width. So, you are S.O.L. sorry!
February 23, 200719 yr How about using the runescape client to play the game? It used to have a much smaller window about the size of the game. Just stickk that in the corner and you should have some room for other applications. Or i saw some people used HTML shortcuts to get into busy worlds. Some of these codes display the screen not in the centre, but in upper left corner of your internet browser. I have no knowledge about HTML, so i can't tell how to do that exactly.
February 24, 200719 yr Author i can shrink it down to the minimum runescape size and remove all the black, i want to shrink the size of the runescape applet
February 24, 200719 yr If you're that hell bent on multitasking so much, I think it's time you invest in a second screen if your laptop has a output for it. There is no way I know of to shrink the java applet without actually modifying RS itself (which you can't do without taking Jagex hostage). I think you'll some how survive not being able to do both at the same time. :?
February 28, 200719 yr So you're alching? Simple. MAke the window smaller (using the "Restore Down" [middle] button in the top right corner). Shrink the window really little. Now scroll the window with the scrollbars and find the "Alch" button. Now open a new window to read your Wikipedia and occasionally maximize the Runescape window to check for random events.
