So I've been thinking about just buying a cannon and getting it over with. But, what exactly would I have to do...do I set it up close to the demon and then just stand there with mage protect on, drinking prayer pots? how many cannon balls do you think I'll need?...

dont bother with cannon...i ranged demon and i was only lvl 41 range...just take several p pots and food and tele runes..good arrows, let the gnomes do some of the work and u will be fine

With your prayer and range levels you only need range the demon from a distance with magic bow and good arrows while protecting from magic attacks. You will have no problems killing it as mcneilp said above.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

One hint though; you needn't be on Ape Attol when you equip the sigil to be teleported to the arena to fight the demon. Bank your gree gree and monkeyspeak amulet before teleporting so that if you die (in your case highly unlikely) you won't have to go through all the heartburn to get those items back. :D

When I did it, I brought 20 sharks, 3 prayer pots. Turns out: I only needed two sharks. I was 47 Ranging, I brought a Yew Shortbow. I expected it to be super-hard, but it was really easy. I was in the Castle Wars arena... and I clicked my sigil. Too bad I forgot to click Protect From Magic. So I got there, and the demon started to hit me with magic. GAH! It hit me a 27, then a 22. So I worked the magic of my one-click teleport - the Ectophial! I ate my shark, put on my sigil, put Protect From Magic, and I didn't get hit a bit during the fight. It took me a minute. The trick is: stay far away from the demon so you can't see his HP. Range at him (I brought mithril arrows), and he will only hit you with magic, which you're immune to. Believe me, the gnomes did at least 3/4 of the damage. =D So that's my story. Good luck!
