Google90
I can continuously hear a very, very high pitched sound coming from my router. Similarly like when you hear a tv from a different room, but much pitchier. What could be the problem?
Celt23
That's normal, unless it's very, very loud.
Google90
That's normal, unless it's very, very loud. Turn on your tv. Go to the next room. Listen to the high pitch, multiply the frequency by 5 #-o
Celt23
Well my router, network antennas and PSP (when it is using the network) make high-pitched noises, so I think it's normal. Unless it's around the same decibels as a TV with volume turned 1/3 to max.
Google90
The pitching just started this morning. I've had the router for like a year. The noise is intolerably high.
Celt23
I don't really know how to help then, maybe unplug the power in the router (while the computer is off), waiting 10 seconds and plugging it back in will help. That restarts it (I use this if method if my computer cannot get an IP and won't connect to the internet). Or maybe leave it off for a while.
