March 2, 200719 yr I can continuously hear a very, very high pitched sound coming from my router. Similarly like when you hear a tv from a different room, but much pitchier. What could be the problem?
March 2, 200719 yr Author That's normal, unless it's very, very loud. Turn on your tv. Go to the next room. Listen to the high pitch, multiply the frequency by 5 #-o
March 2, 200719 yr Well my router, network antennas and PSP (when it is using the network) make high-pitched noises, so I think it's normal. Unless it's around the same decibels as a TV with volume turned 1/3 to max.
March 2, 200719 yr Author The pitching just started this morning. I've had the router for like a year. The noise is intolerably high.
March 2, 200719 yr I don't really know how to help then, maybe unplug the power in the router (while the computer is off), waiting 10 seconds and plugging it back in will help. That restarts it (I use this if method if my computer cannot get an IP and won't connect to the internet). Or maybe leave it off for a while.
