Best in The Long Run?

Featured Replies

Well guys, I am planning on sometime in the future going for 99 woodcutting. I will be woodcutting, then fletching, then high alching right at the spot. I am wondering which would be better to use, Yews, or Willows, or maples? I will be 81 Woodcutting by the time I begin this process, and will be able to make yew longs. What do you think would save me the most time in the long run if I were to cut, and fletch. Also, if you think that at certain levels, I should switch to a different tree. Tell me which one. Example, at 90 switch to Yews and go from there. Thanks!

Personally, I would recommend woodcutting willows to 99. Then, buy yews for 99 fletching. Even at higher woodcutting levels, yews cut very slowly, and it would take a very long time to get to 99 off of them (although it is certainly possible). But that just might be my habit of buying everything coming out..

Should you choose against that, then I would say start woodcutting yews at 85 or 90 and use them for fletching. It has certainly been done before ::'

Stick with willows all the way through. Fastest exp you can get. If you want money, go to yews around 90 or so.

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

Thanks for the input guys. It just seems like it will take me years to cut almost 160k willows. :wall: Oh well, it has to be done hah.

But it would take even longer to cut however many yews you'd need  160k is a large number, but try not to become intimidated by it. To help encourage yourself, try looking at smaller numbers. For example, how many willows you will need to level 85, and then 90. It will make your goal seem more practical.

It's all a mind-set issue

I know I can get it done. I set goals and then accomplish them. I always do. When I get to about 85-90 I'll be making a blog for it. Hopefully will get some support. Plus, now I will just get 99 firemaking also with my willows banked. Thanks a lot for your help. Forget fletching.

Willows are certainly the fastest xp; however they are certainly not the most profitable. It may even be hard to sell large amounts of willow (100k+) that is required for 99 woodcutting. If you are using a rune axe I would suggest you just stick with the willows (despite the several drawbacks that exist in getting them); but if you are using a d axe I would go for the yews.
