  1. This. Hell, you made money at any slayer level that dropped unique slayer items. You could easily making a couple hundred K a trip starting at mid level slayer, which is complete chump change now but back then was a nice amount of money. I agree with some of the people here in that slayer (and all skills for that matter) should offer untradeable items only obtainable through doing the skill. The item should also be something actually useful and not just some beacon network ish type thing that more or less only benefits that certain skill. Also, while stepping out of my room for a couple minutes it came to me that slayer could have some evil tree/shooting star type event, where some sort of monster appears on runescape and must be defeated while using your slayer skill. Like the existing events, the slayer event would be immobile so that it doesn't rampage across the map. Rewards would be similar to the existing events, with a slayer/combat twist, of course. This is a very rough idea and it would probably be a bit corny to have a monster trapped in one square getting killed by a bunch of players. Perhaps the monsters could appear on an alternate plane, which you could teleport to from the slayer masters, who themselves would be present at the battle to kill the threat. How about every 10 slayer skill levels giving some sort passive (present at all times) combat bonus. You and that dude might have the same gear and combat level, but his 80 slayer gives him an edge and his max hit is 80 points higher than yours Just rough ideas here, trying to come up with ways in which there could be more to slaye than just the ability to kill monsters that have better alternatives for combat experience and or profit.
  2. 147 days.. pretty surprised actually. Would have expected it to be a lot more. As someone said, I wonder if they include RSC
  3. Or you can stock up on slime beforehand, which isn't all that slow and is semi afkable since buckets fill automatically Using a familiar allows you to do more than 13 ashes per trip as well
  4. Last time I checked I wasn't in a clan, much less a clan leader, yet I was able to vote.
  5. I'm fairly certain that it will be possible to lower the volume of voice chat all the way down to zero, temporarily mute it, or just not have it enabled at all. Which means- all the people freaking out over being forced to hear every 11 year old on Runescape's moans and grunts can calm down. Also, to the people saying that TS/vent/etc's features are better than the RS voice system's freatures (how something can be better better than something that currently doesn't exist, and as such whose features are not currently known, is a concept I'm not sure I can fully understand, but that's another issue) I'm pretty sure that there will be some degree of customization by the user. Perhaps disabled(muted) during combat? During movement? Certain skills, activities, or areas? I'm also pretty sure that if there were to be privateish channels, similar to clan chats or TS/Vent channels that, like CCs, the leader would be able to grant certain ranks and administer settings about the channel. Why could they do it in CC but not in a VC channeL? In the end, who knows. We can't make judgment about something we know nothing about. Plus, as someone before me has pointed out, a RS based voice chat would eliminate issues of external software compatibility. BRB downloading a certain program because I want to VC with someone for a few minutes Not only would it remove compatibility issues, but it would also (as someone pointed earlier as well) remove issues such as sharing other personal information or private channel information, which could be abused by someone with malicious intents. Also, those saying that it's a bad idea because users would be forced to abide by Jagex's rules, aren't you having to abide by their rules in playing runescape in the first place? If it would be problematic to follow their guidelines for VC (whatever they may be) then you are just as free to pick up a third party voice program. RS voice chat and third party voice programs are not mutually exclusive. I personally think it would be fun to be able to speak with anyone in the area also willing to speak. Here are some of the pros and cons that I've come up with, anyone can be free to come up with their own list Pros: no software issues, no private information shared, new avenue for forming friendships Cons: possibility of increasing lag, Jagex could be putting effort into more arguably important content (quests, skills, etc) I'd be very wary of including speculation about certain features, or lack thereof, into a list of pros and cons, as they are only speculation.
  6. f1 - inventory f2 - equip screen f3 - prayer f4 - magic menu f5 - attack styles/special attack. Oh and for the lulz. Alt+f4 = gf'd RS client window can't be closed using alt+f4.
  7. Can you get a strange rock from thieving the desert phoenix? I haven't been able to find any positive or negative confirmation about this.
