March 20, 201313 yr So I was given a Nexus 7 tablet on my birthday at the start of March, but it has now suddenly died. It will now not turn on. When plugged in and I press the power buttom, the screen simply flashes white lines every so often, stopping after a few seconds. Holding down power + volume down in a bid to open the boot system does nothing helpful either, just a different sort of flash to the previous one. Has anyone encountered this problem previously, and found a way to fix it? March 20, 201313 yr This happened to one of my cousins, and I fixed it by unplugging the battery for a few minutes. You just have to unsnap the back of the nexus and you'll have access to the battery wire. When I fixed my cousin's Nexus that did that, I started it in the bootloader but I don't think I needed to. Interestingly enough, this has never happened with my own Nexus 7, and I use it a lot. Did you install the latest system update? It's supposed to have fixed this issue. March 21, 201313 yr Tbh I don't know if it voids the warranty or not, since it doesn't break any stickers I'd say it doesn't but still we shoud check first.
March 21, 201313 yr Yes that would void the warranty. Best bet is contacting the place you bought it from for a replacement. My Android tablet is actually a HP Touchpad so it might be different for you but try holding the power on button and the volume up button for around 30 seconds. This will attempt a reboot.
