I just managed to dual boot Ubuntu and windows 7, so right now I couldn't be happier. In fact, I'm typing this using Ubuntu. My main reason for installing Ubuntu is I love having a ton of free software, especially awesome video editors. Also, I want to be a game and program programmer, and Ubuntu is a much better operating system for practing due to so many FOSS (free open source software) programs to work with.

After a year of having 70+ attack, strength, hitpoints, range, and mage I finally got off my lazy but long enough to get 70 def and finish the hellhound task I've had since January! Now I'm going to go to barrows to make some money/get some armor!

It took about 2 1/2 hours at yaks and 6 sacred clay helms, but here it is:

I set up a wordpress blog on an old computer I had, and I'm trying to get it working better. I'm updating the computer to xp sp3 right now (I told you it was old), so the server might be down, but could you please look at it and give me comments.

ok guys, I want a new video editor, and i was thinking adobe premiere elements. the top of my price range is about $80, so nothing to expensive.

I am looking for... well, lets put it this way, 1 is beginner software, 10 is advanced, I'm looking in the 5-7 category.

Quite a bit more than beginner, and a little less than professional, in an -$80 price range.

so guys, in 3 days i've done a few things with linux, i'll list them in cause and effect order.

found an article about Linux--> wanted to try a live CD ---> successfully burned/booted from livecd--> wanted to install it on a partition (make my computer a multiboot system--> shrunk my windows7 partition-->tried to install the puppy versions of linux on a partition--> it didn't work--> tried to install ubuntu--> it worked, but i decide i didn't like it--> deleted ubuntu partition--> made my computer unbootable because grub was my boot loader, and it had files in the ubuntu partion (oops)--> reinstalled ubuntu--> booted into windows 7--> needed recovery CD to remove grub boot manager--> didn't have windows 7 recovery CD--> get recovery CD ISO and burned it using my laptop (iso found here)--> booted into windows 7 recovery CD--> ran bootrec[Caution: Executable File] /fixmbr command from recovery CD command prompt--> command removed grub and made windows 7 boot manager default again--> booted into windows 7--> removed ubuntu partition--> rebooted to check that it worked (recovery CD at hand)--> it worked--> rejoiced--> made this cause/effect list.

wow, learned a lot in this time, at least if i ever come across a boot problem again, I know how to fix it.

also, just some definitions for non geeks (proud geek myself)

HARD DRIVES are like houses, because each house (hard drive) has its own rooms (partitons). Houses come in different sizes, and may contain any number of rooms (partitions). They can also be expensive, and some are built better than others.

 

Adding a second hard drive to your system is like buying a vacation home at the shore or the lake. It could be used to store all your digital Media, such as your MP3 collection, your lossless audio files, or photographs.

 

PARTITIONS are like rooms in a house, because they separate different parts of a house into distinct areas for different purposes. For example, the kitchen for cooking, bedroom for sleeping, gaming room for playing Counterstrike. Likewise, you can create a partition for all your Games, and another to store your Back-ups, etc.

 

FOLDERS (also called directories) are like areas sectioned off by room-dividers, because they are simple to set-up (create), and easy to remove (delete). They can be changed around without much fuss to suit your needs. But they also have limitations.

Dual-Boot- A computer with two operating system (other Operating systems can be installed on a new Hard drive, or a partion)

Multi-boot- same as Dual boot, but with more than 2 operating systems.

I still have about 1/2 of my hellhound task left, but decided to post my levelup pictures.

I just got a task of 176 hellhounds, and I decided to cannon them. I'm taking around 1k cannonballs, hope it's enough, if it's not, I'll meele the rest. Cannoning really takes some cash, but it's so much faster it's worth it. Any advice is still appreciated! And agian, check my goals block at the side of the screen to see my progress to my goal!

EDIT:cannoning is two expensive, going to get my range stuff and some mithril arrows. I have 134 more too go and used about 500 cannon balls. also got 72 range and 45 slayer, I'll post the screenshots with the news of my next task.

I just finished my task of # (the reason I put #, is because I spread them out so much, I don't know how many i was supposed to kill! LOL) harpie bug swarms, and went to Sumona for the first time, and she gave me a task of 160 dagannoth's, so i'm going to buy a cannon (I sold mine after I stopped slaying) and about 500 cannon balls. Any advice would be appreciated. Hope 500 cannon balls will be enough. check in my goals block at the side of the screen for my progress at my goals, mainly slayer.

EDIT: and thank you all who suggested i take 1k cannon balls! I'll do that!

I Just finished smoking kills, Didn't get my prayer on and died the first time i fought banshee mistress, but I got it on the second time

Now i'm going to start on slayer, I don't know what level I'll Try for, Check the Goals Block at the side, i'll put it their when I choose!
