Done entirely by astrals (and a load of deaths when repairing pouches). That's 81k Astrals made, which is enough for 96 mage stringing amulets (102k -> 97, 129k -> 98, 159k -> 99). Task 33: Gargoyles (127) [summona] Drops: Rune Full Helm, Clue Scroll, Adamant Boots Charms: 9, 9, 5, 10 Notes: I expected these to be bad, but they weren't. They range easily, are easy to get to (Chaos Tunnels), and drop stackables. I look forward to doing them again!
Task 30: Elves (65) Summona, for the big points. Can't effectively melee, so I'm cannoning. Drops: Lots of crystals, 40k of alch fodder, Clue Clue Results: Z page 2, ~360k. Finally, a decent clue! 308 Points! Time for slayer rings! Also this: Task 31: Jellies (105) Drops: Rune Full Helm (2), Charms (7,29,2,1) And this! Task 32: Kurask (162) [summona] Charms (16,41,7,3), Clue Clue Results:
Task 26: Ice Warriors (80) Pretty boring - but I did get 33 gold and 3 crimson charms. A few ranarr, too! Task 27: Shades (83) Yeah, no drops. Did Phirins in the shade tunnels @ Morton. Task 28: Harpie Bugs (64) Again, no drops. First time I've done them though. Task 29: Shadow Warriors (111) ~20 charms, a few gems and mith bars, but nothing cool.
Finished my Aberrant Specters task - good drops! More than enough ranarr to cover the prayer pots, plus 2x Lava Battle and a Rune Full Helm. Clue too, but I haven't gotten around to doing it yet. Edit: G Page 3, 37k. <shrug> Icre Warriors are up next. 86 of them, not too bad. I did make a few thousand essence, randomly. Didn't keep count, but I'd guesstimate 4k.
Another 3k essence made. Done with Vampyres. No good drops, and a sucky clue: And a Turoth task - did get a Mystic Bottoms, but those aren't as cool as they used to be. 25 charms, and a snapdragon seed. Ooh, speaking of herbs - Abberant Specters next! Only 64 though.
More, same as yesterday. Task today was Bloodveld. No good drops, though 6 Gold, 25 Green, 6 Crimson, and 2 Blue charms. Next task? 108 Vampires? Sigh. However...
Had a nice quiet night at home - got home, helped the wife make some very nice split pea soup, cleaned up, and then played RS for a little while. I decided to start on the mountain of Astrals I have to craft. I did four "sets" of runs. I define a set as the time it takes for a freshly repaired Giant pouch to degrade again. I think that's roughly ten trips to the altar, which I count as 500 essence. I then make an Abyss run to repair them. Up until today, I would make a load of laws while at
Well, with life being pretty busy, my play time has been cut back to a minimum. That's not a bad thing at all! I log on after 7PM EST, buy my seaweed, get my sand and essence, kill Bork - you know, daily stuff. I might play a little longer afterward, which is how I got my 85 Hunter last night. I tell ya, those Pawya and Grenwall are horribly annoying to hunt. I go hunt them once I get around 100 papaya banked - and it's so frustrating when 20 papaya nets you 8 Pawya, which gets you roughly 3 G
Sometime on Saturday, I re-injured my lower back. Not sure how, but experience tells me the smallest thing can set it off. This is the worst it has ever been, meaning I sat in a chain in pain all Sunday. Missed church, dang it! So, I played RS. I decided to quest. I must have done ten quests! All novice quests except Wolf Whistle are done, all Intermediate except Spirit of Summer are done. 256 QP! "Only" 22 quests left, several of which I can't do due to lack of Summoning.
86 Mining - Concentrated gold ore from Living Rock. 86 Smithing - The gold I mined from Living Rock. 86 Agility - Advanced Gnome. 80 Slayer - Mainly penguin points. Once I rolled 80 Slayer, I went and used a load of pies at Abyssals. When I walked in, I got a lot of "get outta here noob", but as soon as I started hitting 20s on the demons, I got some respect. Haha. Not a bad 15 kills - got a clue and key half. Clue Results:
So, I got 2000 total tonight, 88 combat. I invited everyone, but only my (real life) friend Ard Choille came. I can remember when I got 99 FM and like 50 people came. It was awesome :-) Guess that's what I get for taking a two year hiatus. Oh well. :-) 2000 Stats: 66 Attack 66 Strength 68 Defense 85 Range 69 Prayer 90 Mage 84 Runecrafting 84 Construction 78 HP 85 Agility 99 Herblore 99 Thieving 99 Crafting 99 Fletching 79 Slayer 84 Hunter 85 Mining 85 Smithing 99 Fishing 99 Cooking 99 Fi
Well, 98 Woodcutting today, on Ivy. 99 WC + 99 Craft = 2000 Total Level. According to consensus, this will be be second time someone has hit 2000 total @ 88 combat. The first was a no-defense low-prayer pure with 99 attack, strength, range, hp, and mage. In other words, a few hundred combat-related levels more than I have. So my skill-related total is higher. I wish now I had gone the "pure" route so that I could max out a little higher sub-90. Oh well.
I'm trying something new - and that's treating RS like a game, and not a job. I still have goals, but I'm tackling them in whatever order I feel like. That means doing things that, GASP, might not be the best XP, XP at all, or an inefficient use of money. I've fished some Rocktail. I've hunted Pawya and Grenwall. I've made extreme potions, and used herbs that I could have sold (since I don't need the xp). Soon I'm going to do a solo KBD trip. I'm having fun, more fun than I've had in RS fo
Today, I decided I wanted to do the new Elf quest. I hadn't done Catapult Construction, so I knocked it out in a hurry and moved on into the Light quest. It's exciting! Looks like we might get access to the Elf city next time! The quest itself was relatively short, though challenging. The puzzle was enjoyable, and this time the shades weren't horribly annoying (like in ME2). I also got 97 WC, but there's nothing to see there.
Mining and slayer today. Got 85 mining, did a 120 Kurask Task (Summona). Drops: White Top, Leaf-bladed sword. Started 130 Aquanites task, ACK! They're hard at 88 combat. Done about 40, no good drops. Nice to get props at Aquanites, what with me being low combat and wearing a Herblore cape.
