First Pixel Drawing o_O

So I've never done pixel art before and tonight I decided to give it a go. It's not finished, obviously, but it's 1:30am and 1:30am = movie time. From this experience I have learned that pixel drawing is so incredibly devastatingly boring. Digital painting pwns it :P I will probably do a digital painting of this same subject once I finish this pixel piece (if I finish it :XD:). The composition would be slightly different though. I wanted this pixel piece to be signature size so I had to screw with the composition.. I don't like this as much as how I see it in my head XD

Also, I fail at muscles and anatomy and all that jazz.. I wanted this guy to be ridiculously muscular but in a weird rocky way so I tried to grab a bunch of reference images from Google but I still failed and every muscle in his body is probably [bleep]ed up lol.

Anyway go easy on me because I've never done this before D:

Wow I think it's really cool, I the guy's face, and the detail of his skin. He does have a bit of no-neck going on though. any Plans for the background?

Well he is supposed to be kind of hunched over so he has a neck but you can't really see it :) Maybe I could have conveyed that better though! I have started thinking about the background but I haven't 100% decided anything. I've thought about fire/magma or some sort of rock environment.. anyway I guess we'll see!

better than my first attempt at pixel art haha

Hehe  Having experience in digital painting probably gives me a leg up though :P

I really like it especiallly the creature

one of the legs on the girl looks odd to me but that might be me. However for the first pixel sehr pro +)

I've seen worse pixel art. This is a pretty good first try. question, is her sword supposed to be SGS, SS, or are you just doing your own thing there?

It's very cute to say the least. Haha, it's like a pre-requisite of pixel art !

Lol :D

It's a... simplified SGS. I started out making it more true to form but it was hard to make it look right when it had to be so small D:

It's quite good for a first, actually it is great for a first, but here's some CC:

Firstly, even though the movement of the female is great her figure is a bit off, her thighs are too big for her body and her legs are entirely off.

Add more definiton on her left leg by working on the kneecap and below and make the right leg a bit farther away from her [wagon] so you can see it better.

You will need to practice making her boots several times I imagine.

For the monster, to make him seem muscular in a 'rocky-way' you need to roughen your shading around his muscles, and make the creases seem much deeper(shade darker&bigger). Also work on his chest as right now it looks like saggy man boobs and I doubt that's what you're attempting.

For him to be "hunched over" you need to dark the area around his mid-upper neck much more, and make the shading large too, raise his head a touch, and perhaps make his shoulders a touch lighter or darker depending on where the your lighting.

Overall your shading on the big guy is fantastic, your structural drawing is quite good, and the general result is looking to be promising.

Thanks so much! Those are some fantastic tips and I will definitely take them all into consideration.
