  1. Been doing some research about updates since I havne't played is so long. I guess this varrock amour stuff is pretty good. So I am going to just do the easy tasks and see how smelting goes in edgeville. Ill get a bank picture up once I finally get all the iron from the exchange.
  2. Well I am back! Haven't played Runescape forever. I decided to sell everything I had. With this new thing called the Grand Exchange that was so easy! Thank goodness for the grand exchange. With all that cash I wasn't sure what to do, so I bought a Santa hat. Ok still have half my gold to spend. What will I do? I know, get 99 smithing. Next thing I knew I was buying 8k rings of forging and 100k iron ore. Have enough rings for 99, not enough iron so ill have to smelt sell and buy more iron. The only downside to my plan is if my iron bars aren't selling or if iron bars decrease in price then I could get screwed. So I am on my way to the one ghost town and going to try to time how much exp I can get in an hour. Any suggestions on better furnaces?
  3. a good way to find out is to just do some test runs... Just an hour on each should give you a rough idea of the performance
  4. suppose to rate my performance ^^; 15k an hour 1/10 if you ask me ^^;
  5. So how is this... On F2P with range level of 55 I was getting about 15k exp an hour in range experience. How is that? Should I expect more exp per hour when I get a higher lvl? Thanks, --Nate
  6. Steel -- 13,169 Smelt and Smith for lvl 70 Bronze -- 38,731 Smelt and smith Lets assume you are lvl 30 because you did some smithing and knights sword quest. So now the question is, what is the easiest way to get smithing up? I would say bronze... 26,338 Coal and 13,169 Iron or 38,731 Tin and 38,731 Copper Which would be faster? Copper and Tin is really fast to mine, plus there isn't much competition for it! Until you get into the mining guild coal is going to be an issue. Also, lots of competition for Iron south of varrock... So personally, I say go for bronze!
  7. Think I will do bronze arrows at crafting guild. That sounds pretty good. Can I assume an average of 2 hits per arrow, is that fair? Is it 3 exp or 4 exp per hit? Thanks
  8. At 50s I stopped I nearly stopped burning trout. Maybe 1-2 every load or so. The rate it a little larger for salmon...
  9. Good place is crafting guild hob goblins! Not sure on how many arrows. Any estimate wouldn't be too accurate. You can never know how much you are going to hit. Guess you could try to assume an average hit per arrow. Then calculate how many arrows by that.
  10. Yes I have read the guides. But those training spots just do not see good enough. Haven't really look around much but Im on it. Any tips for training range on F2P would be appreciated. Here are my stats:
  11. March 16th I haven't played at all today. Tomorrow I will be making nats and caughting up on making my steel bars!
  12. March 15th Today I made 4k cannon balls and mined 5k rune ess. Tomorrow I will be making 5k nats. At first my plan was to use them to superheat. However, I have 10k yew logs I need to take care of. So I will be high alching some yew long bows today and smelting bars the old fashion way!
  13. Yeah, I keep saying 500 a bar for some reason. I don't know why. Maybe that is what I want to believe. Still 200gp a bar is still better than a negative cash flow... So yes, 300gp a bar!
  14. 70 mil not too bad eh? Ill probably save several thousand cannon balls for myself hehe... Thinking of setting a bigger goal. Since I am making runes I think it won't be too boring and I could do my routine for a good while. Lets see if I can get to 100k cannon balls by the end of this month!
  15. Did I say March? I meant the end of June! I finally got to 66 magic so I am going to stock up on rune ess and then stock up on nature runes. Going to make 5k nats at a time. Using super heat to make the steel bars seems to improve the speed a lot!
  16. I won't give up. Just realize it may take me longer than 66 days ^^; Maybe I should define a date where I will have it done... Lets say before March I will complete my goal!
  17. Well I have arrangement with a seller of ores. Glad that is taken care of. Now I just have to get ride of these cannon balls. I am going to start the first day off with a bang (March 15th) and do 8,000 Cannon balls today!
  18. Thanks for the good luck... Right now I am looking for buyers and sellers. So if you have iron and/or coal for sale post here. If you want to buy cannon balls post here as well. My current prices are... Buying Iron -- 100gp each Coal -- 200gp each Selling Cannon Balls -- 200gp each
  19. --Current Stats-- Cannon Balls Made -- 4000 Cannon Balls Sold -- 2000 Coal Bought -- 2000 Iron Bought -- 1000 Nature Runes Made -- 0
  20. Hello everyone, I am going for 85 smithing. I am going to be doing this by smelting steel bars and then smelting cannon balls. This seems to be a very profitable way to get your smithing level up. If you can manage to buy coal for 200gp each and Iron for 100gp each then you should be netting 500gp per steel bar! Since it takes some time to make the cannon balls I will try to conserve time by smelting my steel bars with super heat item. This will add additional time to my training because I will be making my own nature runes. However, I do not mind doing such because I will be raising my magic level and rune crafting level! As of now I am about to hit lvl 64 smithing. So that would mean I will need 66k steel bars and thus need to make 264k cannon balls. My plan of attack is to make about 4k cannon balls every day. I may not stick to it every day. For bare minimum I will do 4k cannon balls every other day and if possible every day. I will be buying my coal and iron and selling the cannon balls. If I can manage to do this it should bag me 18 mil (assuming I make 280gp per bar) So if there is anyone out there that is selling iron and coal regularly perhaps I can become a preferred customer. I will buy iron for 100gp each and coal at 200gp each. I will buy 2k coal and 1k iron at a time. I do not want to get too invested in this project. As time progresses I may double my order or maybe even triple it. However, my maximum order size will be for 10k coal and 5k iron. For now I will start small. So wish me luck. I will be posting everyday on my progress as to what I did that day.
  21. If you are making steel plates it would cost you 60gp a bar... If you are making iron plates it would cost you 33gp a bar... This is assuming you are buying the ores and high alching the end product. If you are making cannon balls you would make 500gp a bar! If you have time, making cannon balls. If you have money make steel.
  22. Personally I super heat all my bars. It is just a really fast way to make bars! The only draw down is that you need nats. However, I make about 1k+ nats in about an hour. I think the fastest and cheapest way to get smithing up is to either mine iron or buy iron and use superheat! That is 3k iron smelt and smith... So 3 hours to make the nats. The ores would cost you 300k or could mine them. The down side to using iron is that you can only high alch a plate for 336 gp. So you would be losing about 200gp a plate... I think one of the better options would be to buy your iron and coal. Iron for 100gp each and coal for 200gp each. Then make your nats and super heat them. And then go make cannon balls and sell those. May not be the fastest way. But a very profitable way! Think of it this way, you want a positive cash flow. If you have a negative cash flow then you are limited to how much money you have. So if you do not have the money to spend on the skill then you most defiantly need a positive cash flow. Making cannon balls is very profitable, especially if you are smelting your own bars! For you it would take 2500 steel bars. So you would have to have enough money for 5k iron and 2.5k coal. Then have 2.5k nats made. Using superheat is really fast though, that should make up for the time making nats! But it is ridiculously slow to make cannon balls. But on the plus side you would have a 2:1 profit to spend ratio. And you can keep on doing this over and over so long has you had the initial 750k to get going. The beauty behind positive cash flow is that you can keep doing it over and over, and you will be making money! I am considering doing it up to 99 lol!
  23. I think it is important that we all set goals and achieve those goals. However, trying to get to 99 fire making in a few sittings I think would eventually lead to burn out. What if you only do it 1 hour a day? If you can do 1k logs per hour then that would only be like 63 days. So in 2 months you would have the satisfaction of getting 99 fire making. On the other hand you can do it for 8 days straight (8 hours), assuming you have 8 free hours in the day! And have immediate satisfaction within a week. However, I think it would be likely for you to burn out. Maybe if you want more immediate results but not do it in 8 days. Perhaps move up to 2 hours a day lighting logs.
  24. Would you mind sharing with us why you are regretting it? Just isn't working for you? I have always been one of those types that raises each combat skill 10 and a time. So it is only during training periods that my str, att, def are not the same.
