But the ends don't always justify the means, and it's wrong to think of this woman as a 'hero' as the article states some people have. I know there will always be people who feel the law hasn't done its job, but it's not an excuse to go sorting things ourselves in this way. I think that's about as neutral as I can put it.

The rule ought to be that if a statement is likely to be challenged ('CLS is better than CR') or is actually challenged, you should have to back it up with non-original evidence. That's the only objective and varifiable way of making sure that: 1) Statements are accurate and verifiable, and; 2) There is no conflict of interest. A common knowledge sticky is pointless though, since knowledge itself is constantly changing and is liable to need reviewing periodically, thus removing its main purpose.

Char and Exca are going to die pretty fast. In the Subway it's more important to take damage than sweep since you don't get to switch, and what you've got there are three pseudo-sweeps. Try investing in a bulky sweeper (Magnezone, Salamence) or a tank (Conkeldurr). Of course that's just my opinion, but lack of durability was the glaring weakness in my Sawsbuck-Archeops-Dragonite team. EDIT: Conkeldurr isn't a sweeper by any stretch of the imagination, lol.

Assumption of guilt for a crime someone has yet to commit is hardly a valid reason for 'doing away' with someone. We've moved from thinking that killing this man is justified, only to realise murder itself is indefensible, to using tacit and flawed logic to justify someone taking law into their own hands. In which case, let's just kill all murderers, paedophiles and rapists right now. Why? Because we feel like it.

Well since you implicitly asked, given the choice between a woman who almost killed 50 people trying to burn one man to death basically beause she felt like it, or a man who's raped a 'minor' (as you guys call them) and hasn't shown any remorse for doing so, I'd choose neither. They've both done evil things and I'm really not prepared to base our legal system on 'action x was more evil than action y so action y is ok'. What I would say is that law is maintained inside a police station and a courthouse, not by an individual who wants to take law into their own hands, and the latter deserves to be punished just as harshly as those who have been through the former.

I'm not so sure what's wrong with the AoW that it necessitates basically being troden into the ground in the interests of metagaming. If the body of evidence is as large and concise as we all know it is, make a guide and hope it gets placed in the AoW. You could then refer to that thread in discussions. Another solution would be to grant posting privelages for the Metagaming board to certain people only, i.e. Clan leaders, guide editors. It works well for Smash Boards and Smogon. I don't think it would do well in this case but... the inspiration is there if people need it.

The law would not seem it a rational or justifiable reaction, and neither would I. End of the day, this guy raped a child, inflicting severe emotional trauma in the process. The courts, representing society's interest to serve justice, have sentenced that man to prison. Killing him isn't going to reverse that, therefore I fail to see how it can be deemed either sensible or 'right'. I'm sorry, I won't be made to feel emotionally guilty about thinking that premeditated murder - a vicious criminal act - is anything other than wrong.

As far as I'm aware Jagex would refuse any scripts being posted on RSOF, regardless of legality, and from a policing point of view you can sure as heck understand why they would have that attitude.

No no, I agree. I hate the way society sometimes has this bloodthirst for people who have served their considerable amount of time in prison. What I don't understand is how people can treat rapists as though they're inherently insane and should be burnt like a witch in feudal England, but pouring petrol over someone, setting them on fire and then watching their flesh burn without even a second thought about calling an ambulance is apparently sane behaviour. As I said in my OP, all I see is insanity vs insanity.

Because they can't leave. If they could they would have carried out the multiple threats they've made through various ultimatums by now. Pouring water over somebody's bonfire just as they've been promoted takes some doing though. I mean it's pretty low, but it takes balls I guess.

I'm overweight, but I'm still fit and healthy to do the tasks my life requires. I've been slightly overweight for my whole life so I can't blame video games, especially not when I play football during my free time as well. Does it bother me? Nah not really.
