First of all, the place is called the Stronghold of Security. If you're fighting in Barbarian Village, of course you aren't going to get any scepter drops.
No need to be an [wagon], you knew what he was talking about.
Second of all, combat does not matter at all. It is all based on luck.
Actually you can kill more monsters per hour at a higher combat level so it attributes to a higher chance of getting a specific drop per hour due to monster volume kills compared to someone of a lower level.
And lastly, if this drives you mad, good luck on finding all 4 pieces of the scepter...
>Implying finding 4 pieces of the scepter pieces are hard to get

Good idea, would work well.
Supporting premise: RWT is great.
Seriously, (Almost) everyone wins.
3 classes of people:
a) People with jobs and lives -
Got to work all day anyway, it's inefficient to spend yet more hours grinding when you can buy 5 hours worth o green dragon killing for 1 hours worth of 'work'. Got to spend your excess somewhere, and you get great value for money by cutting out hours of the boring elements of this game so you can focus on doing what you enjoy.
B) Kids/Students with too much time on their hands and not enough money -
Spending all that time scaping anyway - Why not make a little extra on the side. Case in point - Duke Freedom, great guy. College is expensive, he has too much gold and not enough $$ - What sorta nonce values gamegold above his tuition fees, bed and board?
c) Sweatshop employees. Yeah, its a [cabbage] life for them - Painful hours and minuscule recompense. But HELL a JOB is a JOB. Don't try and kid me that your doing them a FAVOR by shutting down their livelihoods - I've lived in a third world country and seen true poverty, people are grateful for ANYTHING that puts food on the table - And although their income sounds ridiculous to us, it's a living wage. Where I lived people would do a full days work for £2/3.50, feed, clothe and house their family with that wage.
Who loses out?
Jagex - One of the reasons cited for the RWT crackdown was that membership pins where being bought with stolen creditcard details by sweatshops and criminals - Leading to a loss of profit as Jagex would have to give the money back. I don't care.
The 2007 Sunday Times Rich List claims that Andrew and Paul Gower are the 654th richest men in the UK, worth £113 million (US $217 million).[15][16] In 2009, the Sunday Times listed them as the 566th richest men, worth an estimated £99 million.[2] The Daily Telegraph also listed Andrew and Paul Gower as the 11th richest young entrepreneurs in the UK.[17]They can afford it.
Oh, what? It's not 'fair'? As your real life status plays a larger role on your 'ingame' status? Thats true. And I think that's great - Life is not a set of disjointed unrelated endeavors; Success is based upon initiative [And luck].
Working hard at your day job gains you advancement in your other hobbies [Gym membership, rounds at the pub, books to read, superior squash raquet, quality art equipment etc etc etc.] - It's natural and it makes sense.
inb4 cool story bro
I agree unequivocally. They should also allow a trading medium to be established which trades in-game experience for real life money, though they have almost no correlation and should be treated separately as such. What a great game Runescape would be then!

It's because if they made all the worlds LootShare it would be impossible to solo...
Edit: Also fix your grammar and spelling, it gave me a headache.
Fix'd
If you're going to criticize someone for a post that's completely comprehensible and legible, at least do it properly..

JAGEX LOGIC
in Rants
Seems like we have a serious case of pack rats in this thread, I can fit all the stuff I'll ever want in my bank and random junk and still be 120 cozy of being full. Actually I wouldn't mind having a full bank now that you bring it up so I can start using Deposit-All on some of the stuff I'll be using in the future..
But seriously you shouldn't need that much space 496 or whatever is plenty generous for any player that doesn't store random crap like Jester boots and the like..
-
Why you would stay there and attempt to kill Green Dragons with 3 other players not to mention that they all have cannons is beyond me.
-
Work in China is amazingly cheap, so cheap that hiring people is less costly in manufacturing plants than having machines do the job.
Not cheaper than botting however...
Imagine if your sweatshop consists of 10 workers, playing for 20 hours a day each and sleeping for 4 hours - Paid $2 per day?
Assuming each worker generates 400k GP / hour [This can be done without any stats] thats 4 mil GP
So ten workers would make a culminated profit of 40 mil each day
Gold sells at 2$ per mil
Thats 20$ a day outlay [Wages, at least] generating an income of 80$...
---
Bot costs $20, multiple instances can be run on multiple computers, round the clock.
Each machine runs 3 bots [Could probably run more, but i'd rather underestimate], each bot generates 400k GP / hour [This can be done without any stats] thats (400k x 3) = 1200k/hour pr machine
There's 10 machines [One for each previously occupied by a worker] so that means a total of 120mil is generated each day
Gold sells at 2$ per mil
That's $240 of profit per day [Minus $20 the first day, to purchase the bot.]
...
lolwut?
Hey cool statistics man you have a way with numbers. I especially like the way how would pulled them out of nowhere, sounds credible

Because you, believe it or not, agree to pay taxes, at least in a democratic society. You vote for representatives who support taxing, therefore you support and agree to pay a tax. If you do not like to pay a tax, then vote for a candidate who does not support taxing.
I voted for the Green Party over here in Canada and my grass isn't any more greener than it was before. That doesn't mean I automatically support the other side..
-
I have it (halitophobia, not bad breath)
-
Strength > Attack > Defence, that's the order of how I got my melee 99s and how I think they rank
-
I didn't vote, but if I would've voted Dark Bow because it means more profit for my slayer task.
-
Fire cape for any Player versus anything, Spottier cape for any skilling. Skill capes suck and are ugly

Even if you hide the images the page needs to load them, don't see what everyone's complaining about :???:
Anyways, nice drops

If you're gonna outright to refuse the best weapons and attack styles on some random principle. Then just skip it.
You CANNOT effectively kill waterfiends AT ALL without using a decent crush weapon and even then they are slow as heck.
The defensive crush option on some weapons could be usable be defensive attacks do less damage than accurate, aggressive or controlled by a long shot so your just gonna take a slow monster and make them slower.
Hi I killed 100 waterfiends with whip in an hour while I kill around 110-115 with Z spear/Saradomin Sword per hour. Don't assume you can't kill it effectively at all without a crush weapon when you probably haven't gone out and tried it yourself.
EDIT: This is at max stats with a Unicorn and on a slayer task
You are full of it lol. Even with max stats, x pots, etc etc, and turmoil/piety, I max out at ~110-120 crims/hr with ZS. There is NO WAY you get 100 kills with a whip ^.^
And Paw, you are full of it too. The difference between attack, defense, and controlled is VERY VERY small.
Uhhh Aasiwat got 120+ crimsons an hour EVEN BEFORE Extreme potions AND turmoil were released. Also Lucipher6 is known to WHIP waterfiends as even though it's less effective than a ZS/SS, that doesn't mean it's completely defunct at waterfiends

Wow, she makes me feel like a noob for killing Jad and 11 Kril's
You're jealous... of a bug abuser? Hell, if you are, I want to be Durial321
Uhhh pretty sure that he/she never said that they were jealous and that also sarcasm is implied..

actually, he couldn't have, you need 61 range for rune cbow. :D
nice hit too
Well actually you'd only need 41 range for the Addy C'bow, which can also hold ruby (E)s. :ugeek:

Curses generally drain marginally slower than their prayer counterparts.

Why don't they make a option to sell items back for points...
Because then people would just sell back helms and be able to interchangeably obtain whatever helmet they wanted at any given time.
Going to cut you some slack from the insults on my end, I see you've received quite a bit already

You can have multiples of the ferocious ring at any given time.

Frustration
in Rants
Why would there be hard tasks for an area that is designated as being the starting area for all players? Think about what you're saying.
Because without "Hard", there is no challenge. That's exactly what F2Pers need more of.
It's a LUMBRIDGE Achievement Diary though, designated for both free players and P2P members. Why should they create any hard content for an area that's represented as a haven for newcomers? F2Pers don't need any hard game content simply put, because it's only a teaser for members, where the real challenges are found

Frustration

I'm a F2Per so it's a different story.
The Lumbridge Achievement Diary is the only one with "Beginner-Easy-Medium" - no "Hard"? What, Jagex thinks F2Pers are stupid or something?

Whip isn't that bad at Waterfiends as everyone thinks if you have decent melee stats.
At 99 attack and strength I killed around 100 Waterfiends per hour (piety) as opposed to like 110 with a Zamorak Spear
Anything other than Zamorak Spear/SS and maybe a Godsword isn't worth using at waterfiends. There's a lending system out for a reason if you can't afford those things (like 4M for a Zamorak Spear is even expensive anyways), and if you're using things like Verac's flail and Ancient staffs at Waterfiends you shouldn't be there in the first place
