  1. I've been trying to get farming #5 all week and nothing :| Gonna resort to planting potato seeds..

This is indeed effective. You get a chance EACH time you pick a herb / flower / veggie. I personally just add sweetcorn / strawberries / watermelons to my farmruns if I need the rocks. Don't do cabbage (can't note that!). If you have white lilies planted, everything is protected anyway.

For the construction portal: Have a study near the portal. You can just make teletabs and earn money + magic exp while waiting. Don't just sit around.

The agility rock just got a whole lot more fun due to being able to get it from all courses. 72 agility in the process :)

But a big tip, due to a discussion earlier saying that alternating between rocks increases your chance. Here are some ideas:

Willows at Draynor --> Master farmer --> Willows --> master farmer (4 rocks easy to alternate)

Hunter at Piscatoris area (either falconry / box traps / dead fall traps, what ever you like) --> Monkfish (rinse and repeat)

Firemaking / herblore / fletching are all skills you can do near a bank.

Smithing / Crafting --> Smelt gold (with goldsmithing gauntlets) Turn these to amulets!

Construction is harder, but like I said, making teletabs is just awesome.

Mining --> Bring superheat runes and make bars on the spot. You can stay long, get some bars.

Also you could just mine iron and bank it. Later melt / smith it.

So many tips ;) so easy to combine!!

Actually, it's just the one patch cabbage can't be noted at. It can be noted fine at the others. And can you really blame the poor leprechaun that's north of the cabbage patch for not wanting to deal with the stuff?

  2. Question, what exactly is it that you can only do once a week?

I just completed my first statue, and I went back to WC'ing, got two more rocks so I tried adding it, and it worked.

So I'm not quite understanding what I can only do once a week?

Finish the entire statue. Apparently, when you try to add the last pair, you'll get told that one statue going blooey a week is enough.

  3.

They need to set some XP threshold which, upon reaching, if you don't already have your 2nd rock, it will drop.

    50k? 100k?

Some new controls need to be made, I agree. The disparity in difficulty of collecting agility and hunter to rocks like mining and firemaking is ridiculous. This is a process which should reward diligence, reliability, and faithful, steady play. Instead, right now it rewards bug / glitch abuse with things like the runecrafting single ess effort and agility rock practices.

They already changed single-runecrafting last week. It no longer gives a benefit over crafting your inventory-full but is actually slower now.

Also, today's patch notes say this:

Added the chance of getting strange rocks from a few places that were missing it.

Wondering what those are... (Ape Atoll, please!! )

EDIT: Here is what the knowledge base now says are the ways to obtain rocks. Looks like only completing courses now gives rocks for Agility, but I like that they added the courses! Only took me 3 or 4 laps to get my second Agility rock. They still need to change Construction rocks, IMO:

    * Agility: Completion of the following courses:

o Tree Gnome Stronghold course (basic or advanced).

    o Agility Pyramid course.

o Barbarian Outpost course (basic or advanced).

    o Ape Atoll course.

    o Wilderness course.

    o Werewolf course.

    o Bandos' Throne Room course.

    o Dorgesh-Kaan course.

o Brimhaven Agility Arena (one chance per 10 tickets)

    * Cooking: Cooking fish.

    * Construction: Visiting your house for at least a minute while not in build mode.

    * Crafting: Making gold jewellery; making items from leather or dragon hide.

    * Farming: Harvesting vegetables, hops, herbs or flowers.

    * Fletching: Making unstrung bows or crossbow stocks.

    * Fishing: Fishing with any net or cage.

    * Firemaking: Lighting a fire using any logs and a tinderbox.

    * Herblore: Combining unfinished potions with secondary ingredients, not including barbarian mixes.

    * Hunter: Tracking; checking box and deadfall traps; practising falconry.

    * Mining: Mining ore, coal, clay or stone.

    * Runecrafting: Crafting runes.

    * Smithing: Smelting normal ores; smithing items from normal ores.

    * Thieving: Picking pockets.

    * Woodcutting: Cutting any wood or ivy; training at the sawmill.

I smelted about 700 or so ores last night and no rock. >_< (Combo of mith and addy. I'm now out of both, aside from what I use for placeholders.)

Keep one inventory spot open and see what happens :P

I had been keeping spots open. Also uh, there's coal involved so more spots kept opening due to the coal getting used up. At any rate, I'm currently sick of Smithing and should probably find something else to do.

  5. Uh, you don't want to use Torags. It has a magic defense of 'What's that?' and mith dragons use magic. That's why the guide on the site says to use Karil's. Or black d'hide if you have to, because you don't have/want to spend the money on Karil's. (In my case, half my bank would go byebye if I got Karil's.)

  6. I was hunting Implings in Puro Puro, and after looting a spirit impling, i discovered that i had recievced a guthatrice egg from it. I didn't see this loot on the main site, so i thought i would see if i could get it added to the loot list through this post.

Thanks for the input! Do you happen to have a picture of the loot? It can be very helpful to us.

Just wanted to add that I got 21 (noted) tinderboxes.

From a Spirit Impling? Once again, pictures can be a great help!

Here's the link. (http://firebird.darthcricket.com/tinderboxes.png) Figured you probably wouldn't appreciate a huge picture messing with the post.

  7. How come these new updates always confuse me? So each week, you can get 30 rocks, 2 from each of the 15 skills. Then you take them all to the museum and build a statue, watch it explode, get a replica part from the curator, and start building it in your house? What's this about bonus exp? This is very confusing

When you add the rocks from whatever skill to the statue in the museum, you get some extra xp in whatever skill it was you were training when you got them.

  8. Damn, i've only got one after over an hour of agility. Maybe i should go somewhere else.

where'd you get your first stone?

The werewolf agility course after about 5 laps.

Lucky you. I used that for over an hour and got no rocks. (I gave up both because I ran out of food and I was getting sick of that course. XD; )

  9. In case you didn't know, cannons are nerfed now.

Still, like others said, try other places. (Unless YOU are the guy who melee'd the dragon...)

Oh really? How? Just last night I saw a guy with a cannon blowing away greens as soon as they respawned in the Wildy. (All I wanted was a chance to get a tailbone for the Odd Old Man.) I had to worldhop to do my quick bit of dragon hunting.

  10. Well, excuse Jagex for wanting it to be possible for the people who actually have them as tasks to be able to get a crack at them instead of campers hogging them all. Just be patient. You'll get them sooner or later.

  11. Why you would stay there and attempt to kill Green Dragons with 3 other players not to mention that they all have cannons is beyond me.

Slayer task? It's pretty much the only thing that would get me to bother with dragons because I know that they're crowded just about everywhere.

  12. RuneScape was working fine before the update, now I can't get on at all. I get this error message, which I've never had before:

Please read the following text to understand why you are seeing this page

You are seeing this page because we could not load RuneScape on your computer. There are a couple of easy steps you can take to try and immediately resolve this:

Create a new directory called c:\rscache or /rscache. If possible, set that directory to have full read and write permissions, so that all users can write to it. RuneScape should then detect that directory and use it for its files.

Login to your computer as an 'administrator' user and then try loading RuneScape again. This should give RuneScape sufficient access to update itself.

Upgrade to a newer version of Java by going to www.java.com and downloading and installing the latest version.

If you are unable to complete any of the above, then you may continue to play the game in 'unsigned' mode.

Loading and running the game 'unsigned' like this takes much longer, as it must re-download all the content every time you play; you will also be unable to use RuneScape's high detail graphics mode or use the in-game world switcher without reloading the game.

To work around this, you may use this page to manually select a world and then load the game. Please be aware that loading the game from this page will always load the unsigned game, so you should only use this page if you really have no other option.

For further help, please read this article, which can be found in the Customer Support section of our website.

I get that stupid message loads. -_- Just keep trying, you'll get on eventually.

  13. But also, I think that it would be far to difficult to include a drop log from the box. As far as I know, you can be given any two Summoning seconds (assuming you have the level for it to be used), which, last time I looked, was mentioned in the guide. However, it might be useful to mention the price range of the ingredients that are given out, which is commonly 50-150k. With a drop log, it would just be listing all of the seconds, and researching the number of items you can get, which would take a very long time to do so.

My summoning seconds ended up being for something I don't have the level for and dreadfowls. Something I'm ridiculously high level for and am best not wasting the time making. (Why oh why couldn't I have gotten something useful like snakeskins? I currently need those.)

Oh hey, guess I read that somewhere. Sources can't always be correct ;)

It does say it only gives one you can use.

What was this second? Odds are it has a lower use than you realised.

Fire tally. When I skimmed the list to see what I could use it for, I found it was for Fire Titans, which are level 79. I'm level 65--was 64 at the time. I ended up using them to make and sell fire tiaras for the RC xp.

  15. I have a new problem with MicroHelper. That being the drop-downs from the Item Database, Bestiary, and Coords Finder no longer loading properly. I'd been going nuts trying to figure out what the problem was and I think I may have worked it out. You guys might want to check how compatible it is with the newest version of Firefox it is and update it accordingly.

Argh. OP, disregard. There's a specific thread meant for MicroHelper problems and I didn't see this wasn't it when I ran a search for that word. Mea culpea.

  17.

And thank you PereGrin for actually being constructive and not just saying that everyone is a lazy slob because of their connection. Might try meleeing him latter when i get some spare cash.

If you pull it off, let me know :) I know how it is too, i used to play with dial up >.< Now that's laggy.........lol

Oh god. No kidding. I actually gave up playing RuneScape for a couple of years because between the lag and disconnects, it just got too frustrating to play. >_< Now I have DSL.

    Not that I plan to make any tries for Jad anytime soon. Partly because I don't feel like it, and partly because I'm nowhere near level 93 in Slayer yet so it's not like I actually need the cape. Fighting wave after wave after wave of monsters doesn't really sound like my idea of a good time anyway. XD;

  18. Shh. Don't point people at Brimhaven. I do my Fire Giant tasks there. :D

The timer is so that people can't steal the runite ore, yes. When I mine addy ores at Keldagrim, I often see worldhoppers appear and leave because all they want is the runite. Of course, since I don't do the worldhop thing unless I've got lagging issues or there's overcrowding, I usually get the ores first. :^_^: (Not that I currently have the Smithing level to use that one. But when I do, I'm going to be glad for the stockpile.)

  19. There's also combat potions. Sure, they aren't as good as super attack and super strength pots, but they give you points in both, which'll save you a bit of space.

Since I haven't seen anyone else mention it, you may want to use a mind shield to help with magic defense.

  20. Well money is a slight issue for me. I was planning on buying about 1 to 2 mill worth of dragon bones and figuring that should get me a up a couple of levels ... but is construction more expensive to raise? I figured that it would be but i have no personal experience with that skill as all i have is an empty house.

Construction is designed to be a moneypit, so yes, it's expensive to raise. You may want to use the lamps on that. Although Summoning is also a pain to work on levelling. Particularly if you haven't been fighting things and getting charms due to being busy with other skills.

Playing Tears of Guthix and hunting for Penguins are other good ways to get your xp up faster, BTW. So's Circus but that's for specific skills.

  21. I'm with the people that want the circus clothing to be stored in the costume room. I could definitely use the bank slots they're filling. -.- While I do have a few spaces open right now, they're gonna get filled with something sooner or later. New quest or clue rewards, if nothing else.

  22. The Runescape Dinosaur article perfectly describes the way I play, no I don't want to friend you, please don't talk to me and please don't bother my training.

Ditto. I mean, I don't mind answering a question or helping someone out real quick while I'm at the bank or something--like if someone needs a potion I have the level/ingredients for--but while I'm running around doing stuff? I'm not gonna lead your behind to some location way the heck away from whatever I'm doing/going. -.-
