RuneScape Information

  1. Now, the second article makes a good point, but I disagree with it completely. Why? Because the new potions are SO powerful that they make it possible to kill your opponent, even if he had 99hp, before he had a chance to react. Sure, that may have been technically possible before (I've lost track of the max hit), but if so, barely, and only with incredible enhancements. And not everyone has 99hp. Heck no. Way more people have their Strength level in the high 90s than their HP level. The problem is that max hits have gotten so high that peoples' hitpoints simply can't keep pace with the problem. I appreciate the potion that raises players' maximum HP, but that's not good enough, to be blunt. You shouldn't have to drink a super-powerful potion every several minutes to avoid being potentially KOed without a chance to react. But do players with high Herblore still get an advantage over others? HECK YES, but in a fair and balanced way. They can now kill God Wars bosses and the Corporal Beast faster than those who can't, and power-training combat and slayer is far, far easier than it used to be. That's a hugely significant difference, but unlike the few few days after this update, these players get an advantage that doesn't cost other players millions without a chance to defend themselves. And is that fair? Yes. Yes, it is.
  2. The Ourania Cave guide says that you can craft "any runes here, even blood and soul runes." It ought to be just soul runes, since blood runes are now craftable normally.
  3. I found a few things that could be added to the Mithril Dragon Hunting Guide. First, in the first or second paragraph you refer to a mithril dragon as both "he" and "it." For ideal form, the "he" should be "it." There are two other ways of getting to the Mithril Dragon dungeon that are faster than either Ardougne or the Fishing Guild, two of the three areas you mention the possibility of leaving from. The Skills Necklace, an enchanted dragonstone necklace, can teleport people outside the Fishing Guild who do not have 85 magic and/or the Lunar spellbook active. An even faster way to get to the Mithril Dragons' dwelling area is to teleport to the Grand Tree (via Grand Seed Pod, Gnome Glider or Spirit Tree) and use the shortcut to the northeast to access the Waterfall directly. This requires 37 Agility. The Beginner section of the Lumbridge Achievement Diary specifies that those tasks require "No quest requirements" and "Low skill requirements." More accurately, there are "Few quest requirements" and "No skill requirements," as no skills are required and one quest, The Restless ghost, is needed for one part of the Beginner section.
  4. Hi, I just have a few things that could perhaps be added to the Mithril Dragon Hunting Guide. First, in the first or second paragraph you refer to a mithril dragon as both "he" and "it." For ideal form, the "he" should be "it." Also, it would be helpful to say that the Skills Necklace, an enchanted dragonstone necklace, can teleport people to the Fishing Guild who do not have 85 magic and/or the Lunar spellbook active. As a third addition you can make to the guide, a faster way than either leaving Ardougne bank or the Fishing Guild's place of deposit is to leave the Gnome Stronghold (many ways exist of getting there, from gnome gliders to spirit trees to Grand Seed Pods) and use the shortcut to the northeast to access the Waterfall directly. This requires 37 Agility. (Frankly, I think the Games Necklace is cheap and useful enough to eliminate the need for any alternate methods, but if you want the route from Ardougne available, it's only fair to put in a faster way. ) Cheerio!
  5. 2-7 Pearl Bolts 3-8 Mithril Bolts 2-14 Fire Runes Hopefully these will help at least a tiny bit. ;)
  6. The Magic Comp/Longbow special is said to "definitely inflict damage." It's only more likely to hit, not certain to hit. :(
  7. The monsters that drop Draconic Visages are Iron Dragons, Steel Dragons, Adult Black Dragons, the KBD, and Skeletal Wyverns. Just in case you didn't know yet. :) [Darkblade986 - 18 June: I've already informed the rest of the Bestiary Crew about this and the Bestiary was updated previously to reflect this. Thanks for the attempt at least.]
  8. I noticed one thing wrong - the Gout Tuber is listed once as having level 27 Farming instead of 29. And in the table of monsters that attack you while thrashing at the bush, you could add that Bush Snakes hit 11 at first with poison, and Tribesmen hit 13s. : That would be a great help! Thanks! :) [pokemama 9 May - thanks for the tip on the farming level. I think adding the poison hits is a good idea. Am also adding Safta Doc's prices for machetes  since we suddenly need them for the achievement diary, lol.]
  9. ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅYou were only the master when I was held captive, and I never knew you then,ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  10. Part Five: A Treasured Friend Part Five: A Treasured Friend The sun set on another lazy day. The two men on the huge fishing dock pulled out two sleeping bags, grumbled about the dayÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s catch, munched on a few fresh, roasted swordfish, and went to sleep. Until recently there had been nothing to eat but a few shrimp, anchovies, and the occasional tuna, but over the past few days a school of swordfish had passed by the dock, and the fishermen had seized their chance. The moon rose and set, like the men had seen so many times over the past two weeks, and finally the bright light of dawn streaked over the eastern horizon, heralding yet another new day. Ranous yawned, stretched, and crawled out of his sleeping bag. It was nearly summer, and the balmy, subtropical sun shining down on them gave a great deal of warmth even at the crack of dawn. He grabbed his fishing pole, staggered over to the edge of the dock and reigned himself to another long, fruitless day of fishing. His snoozing companion, Redbeard Frank, had repeatedly assured him that somewhere right off this dock was a huge metal ring disguised as a normal section of the ocean floor. If they could only find it, the eccentric pirate continually lamented, then the Ark of ZamorakÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s vault would be discovered and they would be able to swim down, pry it open, and somehow drag the Ark out onto the dock where they could read the map to the demonic temple. Ranous shuddered. He had heard about demons from his mother, and what he had heard was not comforting. Imps were the pettiest of the demons: even his mother could have easily defeated one in combat, though they were hard to catch, and their main deadliness was in thievery. He thought back fondly to the day when he had killed an imp thief in the WizardÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s Tower and recovered a wizard named MizgogÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s precious beads; it was almost a pleasure to kill an imp, if you were fast enough to catch it before it escaped. Other demons, however, were different. Far more powerful demons, called ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅlesserÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  11. It's good, though rather simple. I wish I could write poetry like that.
  12. Suddenly, a previously unnoticed slender blade dived between two normal Black Knights to gouge a wide slash through The Old NiteÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s unprotected thigh, causing severe bleeding. With a cackle, the leader of the troops (DaquariusÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s lieutenant, Blogshot) edged between his two soldiers and grabbed The Old NiteÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s shoulders, dragging him between his men, who parted for him like human curtains. With a squad of sixteen of his best men, six of them splashed with the enchanted potion, Blogshot burst through the thin line of White Knights, still carrying the fallen Champion. Five of the good knights, more foolish than the rest, tried to follow, but all fell dismally to the ground before the coal-black blades of the kidnappers. With a cry of fury, Ranous flung himself upon the thinnest part of the dark horde, slashing wildy at all in his path. He hadnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t come this far and endured this much pain, merely to be thwarted at the last moment! The line of Black Knights nearest to the cliff was only four thick, due to the fact that only 250 knights remained. He swung his brilliant green sword violently back and fourth, killing all in his path instantly. The obsidian-colored metal, stronger than steel, shattered before the might of his swing and his adamantine sword. Dashing over the senseless bodies of his enemies, he ducked one of the other nearby Black KnightÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s swings. Another slashed him across the calf, opening a wide but shallow gash and nearly hamstringing him. He sprinted away from the battling armies, ignoring the pain, and could just barely make out Blogshot and his subordinates dragging The Old NiteÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s weakly struggling body around the corner of the cliff. Ranous gnashed his teeth and sped up, vowing to catch them. But they were too far ahead. By the time he raced around the corner of the cliff he had spotted them at, they were nearly out of sight again, clambering up a low point in the cliff in the distance. The leader was brutally bumping The Old NiteÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s body against the protruding stones. Ranous smiled, even as he winced as his friend took the bumps. The cliff would slow them; even with his calf, Ranous was strong and agile enough to scale a cliff as well as the best of them, and the act of carrying his poor friend would severely slow the group. He had no idea how he would overpower the whole group, but he vowed to try as he sprinted all-out to reach the cliff face. By the time he had covered half the distance to the fleeing Black Knights, they had reached the top, and surprisingly turned back towards the fight as they continued their flight. Not stopping to wonder at this odd development, Ranous veered off towards the nearest part of the sheer rock wall, intending to meet them. Noting they had no bows, and knowing that Black Knights rarely, if ever, carried spell runes, he dared to taunt them. ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅHah! Feeble knights,ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  13. ARRG! Didn't mean to double post, sorry. :( Delete, but please don't black mark me.
  14. Table of Contents: First, a boring introduction. Prologue Part One: The Hunt Begins Part Two: Imprisoned Part Three: The Battle of Asgarnia Part Four: Vengeance is Mine, Sayth Saradomin Part Five: A Treasured Friend This is only my second story here, but it's been placed in many other forums, namely Sal's, RuneHQ, the official RuneScape boards, Neoseeker, and my website once Comcast works again. (No offense meant at all. This is my favorite fansite of all, though I could care more about the forum. I only posted it on all those forums because I need as much C&C as I can get. =P~ ) It took me over 50 hours to write, so although there are probably some errors in phrasing, and my mom noticed the occasional left out word, I don't expect it to have nearly enough gaping holes to trigger incomprehension. This is a sequel to The Saga of Sir Ranous, posted a few minutes previous to this story on this forum. Please note that although both of these stories have many of the same characters, and are posted at the same time, they are NOT the same story. They have completely different plots, quality of writing, and themes. Also, this story originally had The Old Nite in it, as the kidnapped person. Especially at the end, the tale is seriously damaged by his mandatory removal. (If I missed replacing his name anywhere, notify me or have a mod change it themselves; please don't delete this. :( ) In fact, this story is, in a way, a tribute to his memory, not a silly "OMG i jst saw [insert famous person's name]" story, which I suspect was the type of thing that prompted the rule. I'm sure it was also designed to protect the player's privacy, but as he's dead (which I actually regret, having read the Tip.It Times article), that hardly applies. If a mod could give me permission to bring him back in, I'd be overjoyed to comply as soon as I get the message. \ As it is, feel free to think "*you know who*" when confronted with the name Azziem if you wish. (I also included a name, "Yeoldgeezer," which is meant to be a parody of the stupidity of most RuneScape characters' names. However, to the best of my knowledge it isn't an actual person.) Feel free to take a break if the story is too long for you to read in one sitting. It probably is, in fact. However, shortening it would only damage the overall quality, and there's no law saying anyone has to read the entirety of any story published here. :) This tale is based on a specific time period in RuneScape history, namely April - June 2001. As very few people know what updates took place at that time, I hope it won't spoil the surprise. I will stress that this is *very* loosely based on RuneScape's updates, and it isn't simply a linear, boring discussion of what happened when various updates were released, supposedly "in" a computer game. This is the real thing. If you don't like it, please read it through anyway, or at least as far as you can bear to. If you don't like it then, politely tell me what is wrong with it and I'll be happy to change it when I write a new story. Whatever you do, don't wantonly flame me. For those who donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t know RuneScape that well, IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve included maps at the end of each section to show RanousÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åtravels.ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  15. This is my first story here, but it's been placed in many other forums, namely Sal's, RuneHQ, the official RuneScape boards, Neoseeker, and my website once Comcast works again. (No offense meant at all. This is my favorite fansite of all, though I could care more about the forum.) I wrote it a while ago, so it's not at all up to the standards of my second story, The Asgarnian Champions. I'm only posting it here for a bit of background on my second story, in fact...if you can only spare the time to read one, then you should definitely read the other one. Please note that although both of these stories have many of the same characters, and are posted at the same time, they are NOT the same story. They have completely different plots, quality of writing, and themes. Also, this story originally had Zezima in it. I changed his name using Control-F, and unlike the other story I wrote, it doesn't remotely damage the telling. Feel free to take a break if the story is too long for you, although that's less of a problem than I first realized. The Saga of Sir Ranous This is my first story, so donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t flame me. I know itÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s kind of long, but READ THE WHOLE THING before posting, or youÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll get the wrong idea from the prologue. Well, here goesÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ=) Prologue Long ago, in the beginning days of RuneScape, in the early Fifth Age, right after the ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅGolden AgeÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
