Tip.It Times Presents: Quests: the FIVE Different Types?
Caisadi replied to Kiara_Kat's topic in General Discussion
Oh, piss off everyone, you all stink. Kiara, if you hadn't been such an idiot and waited ten weeks, damage wouldn't have been done. Yes, I am blaming you, yes I do think you're a lousy Admin. I thought you'd forgotten about my article, so I didn't bother telling you I didn't want it published. And what chance did I have to ask you to change my stats? You'd already published it! Now, two orders (NOT requests, ORDERS - if you can't do what I say quite reasonably here, then i'll get copyright involved): 1 - I want you to put the text in both the news post, the archives and the article as "Anonymous", NOT "Caisadi", just put it as "Anonymous". 2 - I want you to ban my account from these forums. Make the ban permanent. I don't want anything to do with this stupid community. -
Tip.It Times Presents: Quests: the FIVE Different Types?
Caisadi replied to Kiara_Kat's topic in General Discussion
I read this article as I usually do each week since the start of the Tip.It times, even though it was my own. I also thought it was a huge let-down... I mean, I did abysmally writing it ten weeks ago, I agree, and I missed several types of quest. Indeed, it's short, too short, it looked a lot bigger in MS Word, I must say. Yes, it stinks, yes, it's pointless, but I was bored at the time and, with all due respects, I didn't think Kiara_Kat would really publish it. And i'm also slightly annoyed at the Tip.It Times team because of another reason; 61 combat?! Rubbish! I'm 73 combat with 1025 total! I thought they might at least update it with my current statistics... Ugh, if Kiara Kat wanted to make me happy, she should have published it nearer the 12th September when I wrote it! I mean, ten weeks is too much... I'd be happier if you replaced it rather than posting it now for goodness sake... Ugh... I'm ashamed with myself, i'm ashamed with Kiara Kat, i'm ashamed with The Editor, i'm ashamed with Tip.It, and I think i'm pretty much done with this community. Might as well not read it, it's not at all a good article. Thanks, Kiara... =; -
Zezima let him get rank one before he quit. I assume Zezima will be back in action again soon though. =P~ Anyway, congratties Mr. Lyfe on number one! :D

I took nothing from Morrowind except for the name of the soul gem. I personally have never used the magic skill on Morrowind, all I know about it is that I like to steal Soul Gems from the magic guild every so often so I can sell them to the traders. :P

Ah well, that's not good news :-k Sorry.

(Total level is hover-over, the same as EXP points on skills.) =============== Contents =============== 1. Contents 2. Introduction 3. Soul Quest 4. Equipment 5. Levelling 6. Monsters 7. Essences 8. Other =============== Introduction =============== In RuneScape, every skill has a purpose. For player killers and those who enjoy duelling, this, like slayer, would be a very useful skill. The Summoning skill could be either a combat-based skill or a non-combat-based skill. If it was combat based, note that the maximum combat level would have to be increased to 143 instead of 126 (I worked this out by using the Tip.It combat calculator and making the attack level 1 and all other skills 99, then adding on the difference between the resulting combat level and 126 to 126). Anyway, back to the skill nutshell: in Summoning, you would be able to summon a veriety of different monsters to your aid in battle. You can also summon essences, to another player or yourself. And you can summon other things, such as typing in a player's name and that player gets a message saying, "Caisadi sends his summons," with text saying what city you are in, whether you are in the wilderness, etc, and then giving the target player the option to accept or decline the teleportation offer (note the player must have trade set to "On" for this to work, and they must be in the same world as the caster). To summon a monster, you have to kill that monster and suck it's soul into a soul gem (you will be asked if you want to when you kill the monster, only if you have the right soul gem in your inventory). After that, you may use the gem and summon the monster up to 4 times. After that, the gem smashes and the soul inside dies. If the monster is killed in combat, the gem will shatter and the monster will die. There are all sorts of things to do in Summoning! Read this guide to discover them. =============== Soul Quest =============== To be able to use the Summoning skill, you must have completed the "Soul Quest". I will write this part of the topic in a quest-guide format. The quest is easy and short, and has only three requirements: 10 Runecrafting, 15 Magic, and you must be able to kill four level 60 Mogres with only one inventory of food (the food, however, is supplied for you. Before you fight the Mogres, your inventory will be cleared and you will be given 20 pieces of "Ogre Meat", which heals 7 and gives you a bonus against giants). To start the quest, speak to Yazulk in the new Soultrap Tower, which is Southwest of the Tree Gnome Stronghold. He will tell you that he needs the Mogre souls for his experiment, but he needs someone to collect their souls for him. Accept his quest, and he will need you to prove you are worthy of this great responsibility. He will tell you to bring him the souls of a Giant Rat, a Goblin, a Giant Spider and a Bat. He gives you four "Basic Soul Gems". To catch souls, kill one of the above monsters and you will get a message saying, "You have the appropriate soul gem in your inventory to catch the soul of this monster for Summoning. Do you wish to catch the soul?" Select "Yes," and you the soul gem's name will turn from "Basic Soul Gem" to "Soul Gem (Bear)", according to the monster you catch. When you examine it, it will say "This gem holds the soul of a level 19 bear." When you have the souls, return to Yazulk and he will let you keep the soul gems you have. He then gives you four "Medium Soul Gems" and empties your inventory, giving you 20 pieces of "Ogre Meat": although they only heal 7, they give you a fantastic bonus against all Giants when you eat them, making it seem like the Mogres are only level 40. Enter the pit and kill the Mogres. Take their souls and exit the pit. The souls will be taken from you and you will be rewarded with the ability to use the Summoning skill, plus 650 Summoning EXP, allowing you level 7, the level at which you can summon all the monsters you collected here. He'll also take all the food from you again and give you 12 Basic Soul Gems, 4 Medium Soul Gems and 1 Greater Soul Gem. =============== Equipment =============== Once you complete the Soul Quest, you will be able to trade Yazulk. Here is what he trades: Basic Soul Gem :: 350gp Captures basic monsters, mainly those under the level of 30. Medium Soul Gem :: 1,000gp Captures monsters of moderate strength, mainly level 30-60. Greater Soul Gem :: 10,000gp Captures monsters of great strength, mainly level 60-90. Mystic Soul Gem :: 40,000gp Captures monsters of awesome strength, mainly level 90-120. Legendary Soul Gem :: 100K Captures monsters of legendary strength, mainly level 120-246. Basic Summoning Septor :: 5M Can be wielded, captures up to five monsters from level 20-70. Requires 30 Summoning to hold and use. Advanced Summoning Septor :: 10M Can be wielded, captures up to ten monsters from level 70-246. Requires 60 Summoning to hold and use. Soul Gem (Moss Giant) :: 10,000gp Soul Gem (Cyclops) :: 30,000gp Soul Gem (Mogre) :: 50,000gp Soul Gem (Baby Red Dragon) :: 60,000gp Soul Gem (Mountain Troll) :: 70,000gp Soul Gem (Baby Black Dragon) :: 100,000gp Soul Gem (Scarab) :: 150,000gp Soul Gem (Giant Frog) :: 200,000gp Soul Gem (Blue Dragon) :: 300,000gp Soul Gem (Hellhound) :: 500,000gp Soul Gem (Bronze Dragon) :: 1,000K Soul Gem (Kalphite Guardian) :: 2,000K Soul Gem (Red Dragon) :: 5,000K Soul Gem (Monkey Guard) :: 10M Soul Gem (Black Demon) :: 15M Soul Gem (Iron Dragon) :: 20M Soul Gem (Black Dragon) :: 25M Soul Gem (Steel Dragon) :: 40M =============== Levelling =============== Some ways to level: [*:2iwcf0fg]Every time you summon a monster, double the monster's HP will be added as EXP. For example, you get 440 EXP every time you summon a steel dragon, and 10 EXP every time you summon a goblin. [*:2iwcf0fg]Whenever another player accepts your summons, you gain ten times the player's level in EXP. So if you summoned a level 3 to you, you would gain 30 EXP. If you summoned a level 126 to you, you would gain 1260 EXP. [*:2iwcf0fg]If you summon an essence to yourself, your monster or another player, you gain three times the level of the player/monster you are summoning the essence to in EXP, and you gain four times the Summoning level it takes to summon the particular essence in EXP as well. [*:2iwcf0fg]When a monster kills somebody/something, it automatically returns to the gem and the owner of the monster gains 100 Summoning EXP, plus five times the level of the killed opponent in EXP. =============== Monsters =============== Level :: Creature 2 :: Goblin 3 :: Giant Rat 4 :: Snake 5 :: Giant Spider 6 :: Minotaur 7 :: Bat 8 :: Icefiend 9 :: Scorpion 10 :: Unicorn 12 :: Bear Cub 13 :: Bear 14 :: Jackal 15 :: Black Unicorn Foal 16 :: Cave Crawler 17 :: Desert Lizard 18 :: Big Frog 19 :: White Wolf 20 :: Desert Wolf 21 :: Black Unicorn 22 :: Terrorbird 23 :: Pit Scorpion 24 :: Kalphite Worker 25 :: Hill Giant 26 :: Ghast 27 :: King Scorpion 28 :: Grizzly Bear Cub 29 :: Deadly Red Spider 30 :: Shadow Spider 31 :: Flesh Crawler 32 :: Abyssal Leech 33 :: Ugthanki 34 :: Moss Giant 35 :: Hobgoblin 36 :: Grizzly Bear 37 :: Ghoul 38 :: Zogre 39 :: Skogre 40 :: Jungle Spider 41 :: Guard Dog 42 :: Angry Unicorn 43 :: Angry Goblin 44 :: Angry Giant Rat 45 :: Angry Bear 46 :: Chaos Dwarf 47 :: Baby Blue Dragon 48 :: Experiment 49 :: Leech 50 :: Bloodworm 51 :: Ogre 52 :: Jogre 53 :: Ice Giant 54 :: Cyclops 55 :: Mogre 56 :: Ice Spider 57 :: Basilisk 58 :: Crocodile 59 :: Wolf 60 :: Poison Spider 61 :: Baby Red Dragon 62 :: Mountain Troll 63 :: Big Wolf 64 :: Giant Crypt Rat 65 :: Tortoise 66 :: Green Dragon 67 :: Giant Crypt Spider 68 :: Swamp Snake 69 :: Giant Snail 70 :: Abyssal Walker 71 :: Lesser Demon 72 :: Baby Black Dragon 73 :: Mummy 74 :: Kalphite Soldier 75 :: Fire Giant 76 :: Archer Monkey 77 :: Wolfman 78 :: Wolfwoman 79 :: Dire Wolf 80 :: Scarab 81 :: Greater Demon 82 :: Dagannoth 83 :: Dust Devil 84 :: Ice wolf 85 :: Giant Frog 86 :: Blue Dragon 87 :: Hellhound 88 :: Ice Troll 89 :: Abyssal Demon 90 :: Rock Lobster 91 :: Bronze Dragon 92 :: Giant Rock Crab 93 :: Kalphite Guardian 94 :: Red Dragon 95 :: Monkey Guard 96 :: Black Demon 97 :: Iron Dragon 98 :: Black Dragon 99 :: Steel Dragon =============== Essences =============== At some levels, you can assume the shape of something you're not. Or you can make your monster look like something it's not. Or you can make another player look like something they're not (with their permission). When you cast an Essence spell on yourself or something else, you (or it) turns into a different shape and assumes a different name according to what Essence you summon. When you select "Attack", however, you assume your normal form. If you want to transform another player, they are asked if they want this transformation to continue. A player killing advantage with this feature is that your opponent doesn't know what level you are until you attack him or he attacks you. The requirement is one Medium Soul Gem, 4 Law Runes and 10 Air Runes per spell. Level :: Shape 10 :: Goblin (Lvl 2) 15 :: Bear (Lvl 19) 20 :: White Wolf (Lvl 25) 25 :: Moss Giant (Lvl 42) 30 :: Leech (Lvl 52) 35 :: Mogre (Lvl 60) 40 :: Ankou (Lvl 75) 45 :: Fire Giant (Lvl 86) 50 :: Greater Demon (Lvl 92) 55 :: Blue Dragon (Lvl 111) 60 :: Ice Troll (Lvl 124) 65 :: Abyssal Demon (Lvl 124) 70 :: Bronze Dragon (Lvl 131) 75 :: Kalphite Guardian (Lvl 141) 80 :: Black Demon (Lvl 172) 85 :: Iron Dragon (Lvl 189) 90 :: Black Dragon (Lvl 227) 95 :: Steel Dragon (Lvl 246) =============== Other =============== There's not much more I can say. Feel free to contribute ideas. I hope you all like it :) Don't flame me... :anxious:

N0va, if you need a unit of EXP in any skill, then cut a single branch from the swaying tree in the Fremennik Province. That gets you a single unit of woodcutting EXP.

Phat! Yay! Nice one.

I think it's okay. But I think, if Jagex were going to do ANYTHING to the Highscores, I think they should decrease the amount of people. Go back to around 500,000 people per hiscore. Why? I think, if they did this, they should bring up EXP requirements, for example, 100mil EXP in a skill to get it to 99. This is because getting a skill to 30 is EASY! That's why it's called "highscores" and not "scores". Also, a requirement of level 50 to get a highscore. And if Jagex did increase it, they'd need to make it major, like up to 4 million people per hiscore.

Hmm. I don't usually post in topics like this, but you really caught my eye here. Great idea, a whole new city about the size of Varrock would be good - there could be about 10 new quests, about 20 new monsters and maybe a new skill for it, it'd be the perfect expansion to RuneScape!
