RuneScape Information

  1. All my comments are on the first article. This discribed me exactly. No reason to become a member until I mastered ftp. I even had set goals I wanted to do as soon as I became a member which I found difficult to achive as stated in the article. ( I never intended to stay a member) However, my number one draw to the game was exploring. As a ftp player I talked to every single npc and walked very square inch of the free world. I loved meeting new charaters and it only made sense the more I explored the more quest I could start. Becoming a member reminded me why I liked the game. I had to explore to discover new things and abilities. Fast forward to today. I completed all the quest, explored most of the world that I could and now am focused only on power training. I am no longer doing what I loved about the game and therefore am becoming discontent. Most clans/players are about training/making money or killing each other. Noone is interested in exploring making friends unless they are making mad xp or money. While I disagree with the changes, this article has sparked my intrest to go back to the reason why I started playing.
  2. Happy birthday :D

  3. Happy Birthday!

  4. omg it was so much easier to kill the first boss with range setup. Here is what I had. My Combat level is 93 with 71 hp Armor: Black dbody Black dlegs Black dvambraces Rune Boot Rune Kite shield Legends Cape Helm of Neitiznot << free from other quest Wepaon: Rune Cross bow Runite bolts Potion: Super Defense Food: Sharks Other: Ammy of Glory I used half my food inventory. It wasn't to difficult at all. Just make sure you have about 100 arrows so you don't need to pick them up.
  5. I failed! Couldn't get past the first boss. (I even had a whip)I watch the videos and those safe spots don't help with the first one. I also see that everyone was ranging. I was told by somone else that ranging them all was easy (Less difficult) at level 70. I think I am going to give it a try. It just seems like if I had dhide on letting him mage me instead of malee would be better. perhaps not.
  6. I would suggest an obby cape instead of a god cape, or legends if you don't have one, since as far as I recall it only uses magic if you're not in melee distance. My levels and setup were worse than yours when I did this quest and I barely made it through, so you should be able to do it. I did use tuna potatoes instead of sharks, though. OMG I have been using a zamorak cape forever now because somewhere I got in my head it was better than legends. Well that will help. I think I will give it a try.
  7. That doesn't make me feel much better. Yes I will barrow a whip. I will aslo have sharks as food. Its what I have. It sounds like ranging is out. :( Super sets are ready. Only thing in my inventory will be tinderbox and food. I will also be using an amulet of glory with god cape. Its the best I have. On second thought I think i will work on my defense.
  8. I am going to try an reuse this topic instead of making a new one. Stats: 92 combat Attack,Strength,Mage,Range are all 70. I have 67 defense. My best Malee armor is full rune. I also have Full black d'hide. My best weapons are: Dragon long, The Big anchor from the one quest and rune crossbow with rune bolts. Do I stand a chance at defeating these bosses? Will a one click teleport get me out of there? Does the ring of life work? I was going to use range but the guides say use malee. What is my best chance. If I only have a slim chance of surviving what do I need to increase my odds? Get 70 defense? Spend more than I have on armor? I have super sets if I go the malee course.
  9. I am very new to this hunting thing so I could be completely wrong on this. You get 250xp using a net trap to catch penguins. Chinchompa you get less than 200xp. Why is catching Chinchompa faster xp? I did both and I couldn't seem to get a break from constantly catching penguins. On the other hand, box traps were a pain to setup. They kept going off and catching nothing. The net traps require no bait or torching! Ofcourse I have no idea what to do with the penguins once I catch them but who cares? I am going for xp. Am I missing something?
  10. I had 65 Agility and I was able to complete it. I fell soooo many times and almost gave up thinking it was impossible. Summer pies may help but I failed everytime even with about 5 pies. Make sure you have food and keep trying. If I recall correctly the second time I had to cross it, I had an easier time. (You do have to cross it twice right? I can't recall) I think I was just really unlucky the first time. I think you get 2 tries with a summer pie before your stats start to reduce.
  11. Thank You, that was very useful information to know. Has anyone done better?
  12. I totally disagree. Yes you can be a very powerful mage or ranger at that level however, different bosses require unique ways to kill them. Look at the different skills needed for Recipe For Disaster. Actually forget that statement. Just by doing the quest themselves will force you to go beyond 85 from the rewards and skills you acquire doing the quest. Careful planning or not you still need a wide range of combat related skills. As far as what bosses were hard? The Barrelchest (170) was one hard guy to beat. (Not the hardest but unique) Prayer is useless here. Even at level 70 mage was useless. I use all sharks as food, all super sets and still it was tough to beat at CL 89. I failed several times at level 85. Perhaps if someone was there giving an endless supply of food but even then there are too many quest that require you to do it alone. 90 may be makeable. I haven't seen anyone below combat level 96 with a quest cape since they added all the new quests. I am not saying there isn't, I just haven't seen any. Just about everyone is above 100.
  13. Its a good read but still really doesn't answer my question. I don't think anyone can get the quest cape with those min figures.
  14. I am currently attempting to get my quest cape. When I started this journey, my goal was to get it by the time I hit 90 combat level. Well I am a level 90 and I only have 270 of 291 quest points. With the addition of summoning and the added new quests I no longer believe this is realistic. Although there is only one quest that requires a minimum combat level of 85, base off the other requirements your combat level will have to be higher than this.75 Rang, 75 Mag and I already have the min. attack, strength, defense levels, prayer, summoning levels, are all needed for the quest cape. This alone will force me to be a higher combat level. So my question is what is the minimum combat level I have to be in order to complete all the quests? Not to mention I am having trouble beating the bosses on this higher level quests. Even with super sets I feel as if I need higher combat skill to kill them. With that in mind what would my minimum combat level have to be? Or what would be respectable? With the current list of quests, what is the lowest level person with a quest cape? I am not going for a record but would like to get it as low as I can. My combat stats HitPoints: 69 Attack:66 Strength:70 Defense:66 Range: 63 Magic: 70 Prayer: 56 Summoning: 43
  15. I think I kept every key I came across. Here are the ones yet to be commented on. If you need any more information or clarification let me know. I hope this helps. Keys with added Quest name: Jail key – Key to cell. (Heroes’ Quest) A key to a chest - This probably opens a chest in Golrie’s caves. (Path of Glophire.) Key – A large rusty key. (Olaf’s Quest) Strongroom key – This opens the door into Golrie’s strongroom. (Path of Glophrie.) Bronze key brown - A bronze key with a brown painted eyelet. (Shades of Mort’ton) Key not found in database: Grip’s key – The key I got from Grip. (Heroes’ Quest) This may be called “Grips’ keyring” in the database. Keys with no changes: Loop half of a key – The loop end of the mysterious crystal key. Can you find the other half? Strange Implement – It’s pretty, but you wish you knew what it was. Zealot’s key – I stole this from a Saradominist I met South of Mort’ton. [Crew edit: Thanks for this information! You have received credit for the keys. ]
