  1. Have to agree with Miracle to be honest, if you don't mind RC then that's a nice advantage for you, get it out of the way, secure a rank and use effigy stages on summoning, because getting 200m purely via slayer (charms) seems doubtful and I'm pretty sure your rcing speed is similar to that of agility or mining which don't seem bad options for dragonkin lamp.
  2. Hunt/herb, con/thief and fm/cook effigy stages would all be wasted like that, so maybe you could leave either hunter and/or some of the buyables till later but yeah, the general idea seems ok. If you need to raise funds, that can be done whilst slaying anyway as it should break even in theory. Woodcutting/fishing can just be trained in bits when you find the need to multitask. The practical reason to do fast skills first seems to be the fact you won't have to play around with money once they're out of the way, unless you're happy just banking every skill and not actually doing them. Merchanting also gets worse over time (it looks pretty bad currently!) and skills tend to get more expensive. Personally, I'm not in any rush with dungeoneering at all because I haven't really started thinking of it as a skill yet, just going to wait until the traditional skills don't interest me that much to get into the mood with dungeoneering at some point.
  3. I just changed the name back right now, was an inside joke with some friends. Uh, it started when TSG declared a slayer war on SS on Zybez and half of their clan flamed the hell out of us before we were even notified about the topic. Not really a big deal anymore.
  4. Quite sure jdelacroix is a guy, from what I saw at Runefest anyway. :P Pretty cool dude too
  5. I have all quests and diaries done, never been much of a fan of minigames though. Think I only have one minigame on the hiscores too, I'd do them if I was no longer interested in training skills. There's quite a lot to do for anybody to "complete" anything these days anyway, seeing as dungeon goes up to level 120. :P Edit: The objectives part used to say "You've completed the game, now go outside" when you reached all 99s and did all quests, not sure with dungeoneering now. And yeah I was going to but he didn't seem to, lol.
  6. I would indeed be happy if someone stopped spreading cancer all over this place. Even though it tends to be funny to read, but not as much when someone who demands people to make way for him comes along and decides to call others arrogant.
  7. Drumgun, you're a perfect example of why some people are only alive because it is illegal to shoot them. No one cares about your playing 19 hours a day disabled in real life bs, you're the disgrace who makes all high ranked players seem like mentally disturbed people and you might want to consider not acting like everyone else should make way for your special needs if you really want to call anyone else arrogant. And because I didn't play for several years after discovering Runescape in 2001 and getting up to like 1000 total level doesn't really mean I'm not consistent, it's nearly 5 years since I started playing again, not 15 hours a day either (and yet I'm still on top?) and it's been getting lower and lower over the past year or so as I don't care that much anymore, except for not screwing up my stats because "I don't like NPCs telling me what to do" or w/e bs.
  8. So being high on game hiscores automatically means you're obese with no social skills? No, I don't play 18 hours a day myself, I've just happened to be consistent over many years, but I laugh at the people who make that kind of stereotypes because I can guarantee you I'm in better shape and physical form than 95% of them. And out of my clan meetup at Runefest, NONE of about 20 people were even fat although they'd all be classified as "no lifes" by the standards of an average RS player. Have you also considered that not everyone wishes to be a puppet of the society by having a 8am-4pm office job every day, followed by getting stressed out by social duties every evening, when they seem to have different options available to live a slightly more careless life? Many of the top players have also already finished their education and aren't bound to 8 hours of daily school work. And I know plenty of very high ranked people who seem to be more "normal" than the average person, just happen to fill their free time hanging out on the internet rather than the streets.
  9. I use mine after task, not banking them. FM = Cook - No difference for me, wasting xp either way (Wait, wats xp waste? Dats new) Mining >= Smithing - Not entirely sure, was doing smith because I figured I'd only train it via mining-superheating and 200m mining would leave me about 10m smith xp short, but I might use on mining instead to leave some room for barraging rock lobsters for summoning too Fish > Farm - no rush to get farming done at all and fishing is practically the slowest skill there is WC > Fletch RC > Summon Thief > Con Agility > Crafting Herb > Hunter
  10. First she would have to overview her methods and start being sensible about it, rather than going around yelling at other slayers not to use a cannon because she doesn't like it and it "disrupts other people". Otherwise anyone could start a brand new account right now and still beat her to 200m, if she kept doing what she has been doing so far. Before you say; no there isn't anything "impressive" about getting 200m slayer without cannoning either, it's just plain stupidity to waste hundreds of millions experience by having to go past 200m in HP/melees, while getting no ranged xp. Or worse case, start exclusively ranging it in the end and be even slower. How do you "waste" xp? I know how to waste gp. Use a cannon. I know how to waste time. Monkey with crap on the grand exchange to make money to buy the cannonballs. Waste xp? Thats a new one. A little bit of insight into this: If you slay with a cannon, it is possible to max out attack, defence, strength, hitpoints, ranged and slayer at around the same time, without having to go past 200m in certain skills hence "wasting xp", which is exactly what happens when you don't cannon. You'd have to get at least 266M hitpoints xp and however much extra to the melees unless you wanted to waste ridiculous amounts of time ranging slayer. We're talking about 200m xp skills here, which means you can no longer get more xp in them. And slayer is supposed to break even in the first place, if you are looking to do it in a profitable way (not cannoning) then 200m xp is obviously not something for you. Plus, merchanting is hardly a time waste when you know how to do it properly and can make 10mil for 5 minutes spent on GE.
  11. Thanks. :) OT: Doing fast skills first and hence maintaining a lead in xp doesn't really have anything to do with getting 200m in all skills either (since I figured that was the topic name), but I really do believe SUOMI is underestimating the significance of money, and how long it will take him to make enough without merchanting. It would at least take him a fair bit of additional time to make the money, instead of doing it as you go and spending 5 minutes a day doing GE offers.

  13. Yeah, I don't see a particular reason to train thieving now. I would have been perfectly able to finish thief on front page or even top 10 but simply didn't like it enough and have barely gotten any more xp in a few years. I'll probably just consider making it into the top 100 to max. It's nice to have good ranks locked though, would have liked three rank 6's but couldn't compete with medi doing dragonstones for crafting, so now I have #6 str, #6 con and #7 craft :P The effigy business is a tad annoying with 200m skills, although I couldn't really give a damn about wasting cook/fm xp as they're fast/easy/cheap. The whole thing sort of puts pressure on you to finish slayer before doing skills though, which is what I don't really like, even if I enjoy slayer as such. So if I really happen to want to get some skill done at a point, then I'll probably just go for it. I've already "wasted" a load of xp by getting half of my slayer done before effigies anyway and 5-10m more xp lost is really nothing in the long run, especially on a fast skill. I doubt I'm in any danger to max any of the skills which effigies really help with before doing slayer.
  14. This ^ I wouldn't woodcut if it wasn't for the possibility to afk multitask ivy while doing coursework, watching tv, etc. I believe it's well more efficient to do that instead of logging out while doing those things, I'm also generally a fan of enjoyable gaming rather than maximum effort for a small xp boost.
  15. I too find parts of the discussion on this topic hilarious, i.e. "It's a massive disappointment to see top players not doing herblore on the bonus xp weekend" and stuff like that. Even though we have obviously been dedicated players over a long time, you should remember that most people still probably wouldn't be playing if it wasn't for fun. Personally I'd say nobody is going to max all skills for a while, the people who have unlimited time don't seem to be able to merchant properly, or think that flip-merchanting is somehow against the spirit of the game (while in reality it helps balancing the economy) and would rather waste 3 years on making the money in other ways instead; and other players with very high xp have only just done all buyables, meaning they will be slowing down a lot. And it really isn't something you can plan on within a schedule, most people will eventually grow out of it or find something else to keep themselves occupied with over the years to come.
  16. *requests his post count to be changed to minus nine thousand* This thread's a good read actually, surprised there haven't been any macroing/sharing allegations or general flaming.
  17. I do know most of the names mentioned apart from Jdel whom I've never really spoken to, actually much prefer talking to "regular" people myself though because the conversations tend to be much more laid back. I have actually talked about meeting up with Suomi though, but it hasn't gone ahead yet. Also it's a 3 year old sig for my clan website.
  18. Drumgun really does seem to have a cash problem now, though, and he doesn't merchant either. I gained my chunk of slayer exp when I decided to go for 200m strength which was my second 200m after fletching, not specifically for the slayer. And I enjoy doing fast skills when I can afford them but I don't see a reason to chin because slayer will still be the next choice after buyables, it's pretty good exp together with charms and effigies and would keep you high on the score sheet for a long time.
  19. It's actually not hard at all to get 1:1 range to slay xp when cannoning enough, my gains for the past year or so even have more xp in ranged than slayer consistently, all from cannon and steel titan on tasks. If I end up ever going for 200m slayer I would probably just about max ranged and HP, and be a little short in one of the melee stats, which works out nicely with the bit of extra xp to be gained from dungeoneering though. Summoning would be a little short especially for me as I already had 17 million slayer before summoning even came out, and I'm far too lazy to do waterfiend tasks these days, although bonus xp weekends could improve the slay:summon ratio a lot. It's trickier for people who have wasted a lot of exp camping and might have to go far past 200m in a combat skill if they wish to get 200m in slayer. Personally, I'm mainly training construction for now along with some other skills occasionally; to someone who said a few pages back that I should train thieving - after I have 200m construction it would be unwise to get 200m thieving as well due to con/thief being paired in effigies, it's fine by me though as slayer (especially with effigies now) is even faster overall than thieving, same goes for buyables which I can still train for a long time unlike a few of the players who have been closing in on my xp recently. I'm not sure if Jdelacroix is still going to chin range and def to 200m, would be especially stupid now considering all the effigies he would miss out on not being able to do slayer, without wasting a lot of combat experience. Magic is best done mining/superheating, although some could be barraged in case you end up being short of 200m summoning after being done with slayer. I don't exactly intend to, or think I will manage 200m in all skills although it's good to choose training methods which serve a purpose of that goal, and no doubt it will become even easier and more realistic over the years to come, we already have effigies, and daily effigy assists which could end up giving you free 100m xp in runecrafting by the time you are done with other skills.
