  1. People have covered it really.

If you are rich then cannon using Kent's vid's method. This is more XP and is pretty fast. Downside is you need to pay attention and have some semi decent stats (mage and defense being the key) I believe it was actually found to be the fastest slayer XP in the game. Issue is you don't many per task so Dagannoths seem more.

If you are poor or want an easy ride of it then use the ones from Missing My Mummy. Very bad XP though.

The other alternative is to fight the harder one in the swamps. I never saw much point to this method.

  2.

And the potions part is especially good, you know why? We now have a stackable secondary, fletching potion uses wimpy bird feathers as secondary. They are annoying to get, but 27 pots/inv=win. The pots won't sell probably tho  .

I hate to break it to you, but we've had a stackable secondary for quite a while now

Anyone who doesn't use there Harras for Harra Tar is silly.

  3. The update has made agility less of a reason to train.

The only reason I'm 77 is because I wanted to use shortcuts and so my run could recharge faster. Now there is little point in raising agilty past 50 for the run, as there are plenty of ways to restore energy and you can get from A-B without a full drain anyway.

Shortcut wise they are next to usless from 75, yes there is a good one at 80 but you can pie it from 75 which is a lot less hassle than 75-80 with 40k XP an hour.

There are 2 reasons I train a skill:

    1. Usefulness: Runecrafting make cash, hunter gets you more chins per hour etc.

    2. Speed/Levels: 99 firemaking is easily achievable with a bit of patience, pointless but it's total levels and XP.

Now with agilty it's usefulness is pretty much non-existant past 75. As for it's speed, it's 40k an hour and thats with solid concentration. Unless of course you PvP and get the brawlers but this isn't viable for most players.

Jagex could have added some new shortcuts:

Mid-High Level Wildnerness escape routes (85,90,95)

    Trollheim to GWD Zipline (85)

Or they could make it so agilty reduces the liklihood of being affected by ice spells/ZGS spec. The spell freezes your muscles so it makes sense high agilty could counteract this.

Of course all this is by the by if Jagex are planning a future update based around agility. The current crystal gear requires 50 agilty and Priffindas isn't open yet. Who knows what lurks inside...

  4. I got a bit of info on the new herb....

You can get it from the Brimhaven Agility Arena, as well as from monsters and Winkin's Farm.

The Fletching potion made from it gives a +3 boost to Fletching per dose.

No other info right now, I'll try and get more to let you guys know!

Is there anything more pointless than a fletching potion?

And why the need for a new herb? Seriously harralander and a cadantine would have worked fine. Why waste another 2 bank spaces for no real reason (seed and herb).

Yes herblore needs a boost but here's two suggestions:

    1. Make summoning pots take you over your max by 2 levels.

    2. Make a super prayer potion from Torstol and Snape Grass.

That's off the bat without really thinking about it.

  5. On the bright side, people are flocking to TIF now to see pictures and opiniopns of the glitches,

    11.png

Well most people steer clear of the RSOF as it's full of kids and liars. I mean why lie about losing a lent item? Those idiots should be banned for wasting Jagex's time when there were proper bugs to fix.

As for the guy who will commit suicide if he doesn't get his fake AGS back from a fake bug, world is probably better off without him anyway.

Anyway I'm staying off Runescape tonight. Hopefully tomorrow all these bugs will be sorted and at least I'm not going to have the worry of a system update.

  6. I don't like to criticise Jagex, but I don't think they handled the situation well at all. They could have easily shut the game down whils they fixed it. What is the worst that could've happened in that time? Someone fails the Fight Caves and some people have to teleport from GWD. Now we have people with GE offers wiped and lent items lost, that totals up to a lot more damage. Just when I thought Jagex was becoming a more user friendly company they screw up in a crisis... I hope they change their mind and do a rollback.

They can't rollback now. too much time has passed and people have gotten items legitimately.

I agree with you though, shut the game down. 37 minutes of downtime would have been far better than this mess.

  7. It was impossible for anyone to get any high value items legitimately during those 37 mins. The only thing I can think of is a 3a from a clue, however with most teleports being down also I doubt anyone did a clue scroll, let alone get a piece of 3a.

Other than that you are looking at 37mins worth of magic/yew logs, rune ore, chinchompas, etc. and maybe a few 100k XP on the easier to train skills. Compared with people losing lent phats, god swords and the like that XP and produce is minimal to say the least.

I will say it again. Jagex should have shut down Runescape until it was fixed. Would have saved a lot of the complaints.

  8. "We reset everyones levels back to 1, unfortunately we dont give a crap."

That's about the gist of it. I just can't believe their attitudes... A friend of a friend I know had all his offers in the GE wiped, which included a DFS and AGS. Gone. Apparently lent items were deleted. But Jagex doesn't give a damn.

Luckily my Zammy Spear I'd leant out was there, otherwise I would have cancelled my subscription and gone to WoW.

I thought Jagex were meant to care about there players.

  9. Plus Jagex are poor at punishing people abusing bugs and glitches so people will abuse this and will make millions and the rest of us law abiding players will get screwed again.

    I was right then.

Annoys me no end that Jagex did nothing to prevent this. It was obviously a massive bug which caused a good number of people not to be able to do what they were doing. From this point they should have given a 3 minute warning and shut down Runescape whilst they fixed it.

Why let it still run? Now people have more of a reason to moan as people have solo'd high level monsters and got decent drops unfairly. This is bug abuse, pure and simple, and the people should be banned. What kind of example is this setting for future bugs? Basically if there a bug, exploit it as much as you can as you have only a 30% chance of being banned. It's ludicrous.

Also why not rollback? Very few people could train efficiently and in the course of 37 minutes would not have gotten that much XP. Anyone who moaned they got a valuable drop and now don't have, would be admitting guilt of bug abuse.

Also this is far worse than the Fally Massacre. That only affected a few players on one World and in a reasonably small area. This affected all players in all Worlds.

Anyway it's not worth losing sleep over but it's just annoying how Jagex are keen to ban SwiftKit and other things which have a positive impact on the game, yet turn a blind eye when people abuse a bug which is totally against the spirit of the game.

  10. Getting a new PC and have narrowed it down to 3. All are similar in most specs but I need to know what is the best out of 3 lists:

    1. CPU

    Intel Core 2 Duo E7300

    Intel Pentium E2220 Dual Core

    AMD Sempron 2300 Dual Core

I currently have an AMD and it is brilliant so I would swerve towards that. It's all model numbers, no speeds so I am lost.

    2. Graphics

    NVIDIA Geforce 7050

    Intel GMA 3100

    NVIDIA Geforce 7100

I currently have a Geforce card, dunno which as I'm not at home but it is unlikely to be better as it is a year old. Again all models, no speeds.

    3. Manufacturers

    ACER (Aspire M1641 / E7300)

    Compaq (Presario CQ501 1UK)

    HP (Pavillion P6004UK)

Currently I have a system I built myself so am not really up on manufacturers. However sinceI built it it is more economical to buy a base unit so hence the reason I need advice.

    Any ones advice is appreciated.

  11. God people like to moan.

All the updates are OK, nothing ground breaking but all useful.

    HP Bar is better.

Splats are splats. As long as they say how much I hit, or were hit I'm cool.

Dungeon maps are awesome if you need to know where things are. Lets not forget we are not all experienced players. I got lost and died in a dungeon when I was a noob as I couldn't find the exit. This would have saved me.

Spam filter is the big one for me. You have cut a teak log, You have a cut a teak log. Grr shut up already. Big thumbs up for that.

  12. Agility needs to have a complete makeover. It should be a skill that helps in combat as well somehow.

Should be made a requirement for some new high-end weapons. Maybe when they release the eastern lands they can add katana's up to dragon requiring agility levels to wield, just to spice things up a bit. :)

You know, I kinda like that idea ::' And maybe the chance of a critical hit or special effect depending on your Agility level? Like Guthan's but less random.

Well crystal requires 50 agilty. Would be nice if they released a lot more crystal gear.

You can then have pure crystal items which require 70 agility.

I still think the next skill will be crystal singing.

  13. Also someone said it's second in the Mysteries of the Majharrat quest line. It isn't you are getting confused.

If you had read the post I posted 11 hours and 10 minutes before you, you would know I didnt mean the sequal.

He was trying to quote me I think but smegged up the quote tags.

  14. I want a real update.

    Pvp update last time

    Questing update this time

That's pretty much 90% of the population catered for.

We have no reason to moan really.

Fine for the 90%, but what about us 10% who don't care about PvP or quests that don't unlock useful content?

Plus Jagex still owes us a dragon pick and I'd like to collect on that before I finish 99 mining >_<

I think the Dragon Pick picture was actually the Inferno Adze...

  15. Pvp update last time

    Questing update this time

That's pretty much 90% of the population catered for.

We have no reason to moan really.

Sorry, but low level quests with no difficulty, challenge and horrible rewards don't cater to me or any serious gamer.

Nice job lumping all 90% of non pker into one group.

You misunderstood. PVP'rs are about 30%, Questers about 30%, 20% are new users who already have content to play. !0% are hybrid and happy with whatever and 10% only want high level updates.

This quest has plenty of story and a decent enough reward to make it worthwhile to do at high levels for the time it takes to do.

Look at my stats. They are high. WGS was the best quest yet due to it's high challenge and high reward. However I know full well that only a very small percentage of people would have been able to do it from the off. Jagex cannot cater for everyone all the time so they cater to the masses mainly. Why moan about it? Enjoy the content you get.

I know PvP isn't to everyone's liking but it's an update. Likewise not everyone likes quests, but guess what? It's an update, it's new content. You cannot moan just because every update isn't a new high level dungeon, or a new 95 slayer monster or a 12 hour, multi part WGS/RFD style hybrid masterpiece. If you are not enjoying the updates then cancel your membership and play the free version. Just don't whine like a girl when an update doesn't cater for your minority.
