  1. I block black demons because I can't stand them and Suqahs because they are so annoying to do, Terror Dogs and Kalphites will be on my list once I get them.

How can anyone hate Suqahs? Go to the south of the island in a little area with two spawns, make sure auto-retaliate is on, go make a sandwich and come back when the task is done. If you're really ambitious you can check the piles of bones for clue scrolls every once in a while.

Well maybe not quite that easy, but I'm not really exaggerating very much either.

  2. For the XP weekend you probably want to do whatever will get you the fastest XP, most likely platebodies. Gold with gauntlets may be a good way to train on a normal day, but for this weekend you want to cram as much XP into as short a time as you can.

Keep in mind that you can always get double XP with the Stealing Creation hammers, so smithing XP might not be a priority this weekend.

  3. Personally, I do all of my smelting at the furnace in Neitiznot, and all of my smithing in Yanille.

I kind of like that you have a little more peace and quiet. In Varrock you get constantly bombarded with "Smithing lvl?" and "What you making?" about 300 times an hour. I also think that Neitiznot is a little bit closer to a bank than Edgeville.

The disadvantage is that Neitiznot is a little remote, so you're cut off from the GE, herb runs, effigy assists, and everything else for the whole time that you're up there.

  4. I thought banking at Wilderness volcano and teleing to Clan wars was much faster? and its not very expensive either... But nice guide overall with euipmentsetups, however i could disagree with some of them...

ya but in order to bank at wildy volcano u have to have like 30 games necklaces and each is 1k so i just thought about how i could spend the least gp and make the most. o and ty

You get 8 teleports out of each games necklace, so that's like 150gp per teleport. And in the time that you will spend running, you probably could have killed 2+ extra dragons.

  5. I watched the mining/superheating vid, and I really like it. I don't need any magic XP, but I really want XP in both mining and smithing.

It looks like he's doing it solo (not w84) and he isn't being attacked. Anyone know of any LRC solo mining guides?

  6. I'm a slayer nut, but I don't think that slayer is all that good for elite scrolls. I've probably gotten 30+ level 3s since the update, but not a single elite.

I've heard miths are pretty good for camping, maybe 1/100. Never tried it personally though.

  7. I've heard that if you attempt to collect your resources but your bank is too full to take them, the resources are calculated and locked in at that point even though you don't see what they are.

I suppose that if a clue scroll was one of the resources, it could possibly block you from getting another one.

  8. Most of the people you see while training the skill are 99 slayer, and NONE of them are wearing the cape

Very true. Also 86% training Slayer are multimillionaire Swedish bikini-model rocket-engineers, 78% are trained ninja assassins/NASA test pilots, 107% are silicon based lava rock people, and 142% are quantum evolved anti-matter 12th dimensional energy beings.

They'll all deny it though. They don't want you to think that they're stupid.

  9. Not a big deal, but I've always been curious. Whenever I leave the swamps near Canifs I get a message on my screen that says "The Swamp decay effect is now over."

Does anyone know what that means? I never noticed my stats draining or anything like that. I know that my food turns rotten, but that is because of Ghasts, not because of any swamp decay effect.

  10. Melee works fine, they tend to drop enough to keep me going, but I start the trip with two/three sharks just in case.

Don't use super antis. Put in the effort and get a prayer book. Saves you cash.

What about the poison? You just let them poison you?

The prayer book can cure poison at the cost of prayer points.

I tried it without anti-poison once and just used a unicorn to cure the poison, and it was a pain. Without the immunity you get from an anti you end up constantly curing yourself. It's well worth using an anti to avoid all of the hassle.

  11. I'm sure most have read it, but this is from the faq....

"Does the rarity of the clue depend on how tough the monster is that drops it? I.e. Mole would be extremely rare, Kree'ara would drop uncommonly."

Generally speaking thats true, but not in all cases. Some monsters which have a kill limit like the Skeletal Horror are even more generous.

Not much help, but I'm guessing that Strykewyrms are in the "kill-limited" group.

I've been getting Abyssal Demons just about every other slayer task since the update, and for the first time since I've been playing the game I'm actually disappointed when I see that I got them.

  12. I think that he's attempting to communicate with us. You can tell because he's stringing together patterns of consonants, vowels, blank space and punctuation. They mostly appear to be pretty randomly placed at the moment, but at the end it seems like he's requesting some sort of help.

My best guess is that he bumped his head. The only help that I can recommend is to apply an ice pack, and consult with a doctor if the symptoms persist.

  13. I actually didn't know about the farseer helm bonus until I read this, even though I have one in my bank. When I didn't want to use my Ahrim I usually just used a mystic hat, which is worse. I guess you never know when information in a thread might be useful to someone.

Sorry if this is offending the sensibilities of Mr. Discussion Value.

  14. I've got mine in Taverly because it it the only place that I really can't get to quickly any other way.

From there I can get to the Hero's Guild, a Summoning obelisk, the train carts, the Goblin Village, and even get back my Enchanted Excalibur when I die. I also use it a lot for treasure trails and penguin hunting.

It doesn't matter as much anymore with the tabs, but I still find it the best spot.

  15. I think you guys seriously underestimate jagex'es ability to fix something that isn't broken to make it much worse. I think the intelligent approach that we have now is completely fine and good enough to satisfy 99% of people- if you want to be lazy and lend for a timeframe that you aren't actually prepared to lend then it's your choice, this could have easily been a nonproplem if you were more knowledgeable and your brother could have estimated how long he needed the item(as i doubt he planned a full day of mining), and if your ignorance coupled with your/your brothers misconception of ability has put you to limbo, atleast you have learned a valuable lesson of how to do things the right way.

Just because something "works" doesn't mean that it's right. If you want to pick your nose you can probably use the big toe on your left foot to do it, but that doesn't mean that it's the optimal solution

If you lent out something, and the other person is done with it, you should get it back. That's just obvious. Sure, you can construct an argument whereby it isn't absolutely necessary that it works that way, but it's just silly to put down someone who actually wants the system to work properly.

  16. Thanks. I'll have to plan ahead again for next week.

I was kicking myself this morning because I tried to partially complete the TT before the update, and it gave me the reward at clue five.

I would save it. My plan is: Do the level 3 in my bank, kill Bork for an Elite, do it if I get one, kill Skeletal Horror for Elite, do it if I get one. I'll probably do other monsters like the Phoenix for clues as well.

Just out of curiosity, did Jagex say somewhere that Bork and the Skeletal Horror would drop elite clues, or are you just guessing?

  17. I got a clue scroll just a few minutes ago, and I'm wondering if I should save it for the TT update that I'm assuming will come tomorrow.

Does anyone remember if the last time they did a TT update the old clues still got the new items?

  18. Royal Crowns crashed as well, so now's the time to get one.

Uh... in two weeks when they're 500k is the time to get them if you actually think they look good. They will never have a street price again.

Gl getting one for that price. :P

Merchants will never let it drop that low.

Unless kingly imps cost as much as d imps, you will never see crowns at 500k.

I remember the last time that new TT items were added and Top Hats went up to 4.5M. When they finally crashed they never went back up.

Crowns aren't all that rare to begin with, and every single day they get less rare.

  19. It didn't take me 35 times, but I had a lot of problems too. Just for the heck of it, try this. It's what finally pushed me over the edge.

    - Don't range at all. When you're frozen just use the time to heal and collect your thoughts.

    - When you're frozen, swap out your glory and put on a Phoenix necklace. When he hits you with his special attack it will kick in and automatically heal you out of the danger zone. I know that it won't heal as much as a sara brew, but try it anyway. Bring 3 or 4.

    - Get rid of the sara brews/restores and only use rocktail and prayer pots. If you're anything like me, you're spending too much time healing and fighting with reduced stats.

Everyone jumps all over me when I suggest this because the phoenix necklaces and rocktail don't heal as much as the sara brews, but if you're at the end of your rope give it a shot anyway. I personally think that it both works better, and is also less expensive. It also makes for a much more relaxing battle, so you aren't constantly clicking on things like a maniac.

How many p pots should i use? bring range pot? rest rocktail? should i bring bgs for spec or borrow claws

I did the quest a while ago so I don't remember exactly, but you won't need many prayer pots, maybe three or four.

Try and keep it as simple as possible. Don't even bother with ranging. You can do a BGS or Claws spec if you want to, but don't get hung up on it. I used a BGS, but I doubt that was what made the difference in the end.

It really sounds like your major problem is that you're simply not hitting enough. Give it a shot with just a couple of prayer pots and an inventory of rocktail and see how well it works out. It'll be a cheap test to see if you're on the right track.

So melee with bgs over using range? What setup would i use for this? prosy or just use general melee armor? pray mage still? Using your setup + ranging im getting him to zerker fairly easy im just running out of food in the end

It's been a while, but I think that I just used a whip (I might have tried the leaf bladed sword, but I can't remember if that's what won it for me. For some reason I thought that he was weak to stab. Not sure if that is true.). The BGS was just for the first spec, then I never used it again. I still used black d-hide, but I can't remember what I prayed.

I didn't use karils because it degrades 100% whenever I die, and that got expensive.

If you're running out of food maybe you can try bringing a few sara brews and using them only when your frozen or behind a pillar.

  22. Yeah, I'm resetting when I get to the end before I start to run through the floors again.

The med dungeons take about twice as long for me to complete, but don't give quite twice as much XP, so I've been sticking to small.

    Yikes, this is painful.

  23. I'm 65 Dungeoneering with 33 prestige, and I've been maxing out at about 15K xp per hour (and I mean maxing out! My average is lower). This seems really, really low to me, but like to see if that is what everyone else is getting. I kind of want to figure out if it's really that slow, or if I'm just doing something horribly wrong.

I know that I could probably do better with a group, but that's not possible for me at the moment. I've got a lot of interruptions and I'd probably make a horrible partner.
