this really doesn't have much of an effect...this has as much of a dent as if someone buys a pumpkin or easter egg, or santa...and just decides to keep it. The fact is, its just not in the economy anymore...if someone chooses to purchase another...then its a different story. If people started eating their easter eggs, it would eventually come to light that less of the eggs are in circulation, because people who eat their eggs mistakenly or purposefully are potential sellers. Anything that reduces the supply of a good will make the price rise, when there is demand for it. And demand is there for rares. In this case, it would take longer because it takes a while for the supply curve to shift left. Get it? Price changes cause movements along the curve. Other reasons cause a shift in supply to the left which increases price. Draw it yourself and see. More theoretical than practical, but that is what will happen over time. Same with players who get banned with rares in their account, they are potential sellers.
