lol. I can see your point. At least they were nice enough to warn everyone what will happen if they continue cheating, or have a thought about trying it. It's just a deterent. It's a game, and even in the game there are rules that need to be followed. As far as breaking American and British laws... a big ROFL. This is their game. Period. They are technically allowed to do anything they want, you agree to the terms and agreements. Unless they are breaking laws concerning your privacy or getting into your computer... good fight. :) But they're based in Britain. Furthermore, there are such things as international laws. They can ban you and delete your account without any warning, and there is nothing you can do, that's just part of the terms and conditions. I don't blame them for it. Runescape was not meant to be played out in the courtroom. It doesn't matter about international laws in this case, it's based in Britain, and the terms and conditions simply state, that they ultimately own the account and can do whatever they want with it, that's what you agreed to. Simple.

Yea, they banned people I'm sure, but 900 is a pretty small number of botters I reckon. Even if they banned 10,000. I think that number alone would indicate how many there are actually out there. Jagex has a pretty good programming base, but they aren't the only ones with programming skills and ingenious ways.

It's funny, I've been around on RS since 2002 or so, and I'm sure there are plenty of others here too. I recall many, many, many times over the years that I've seen situations like this. They tell us thousands will be banned, even gave us a ban list once titled "cheating scum", they talk at length about improved detection systems. What happens? There happens to be even more that come in more ingenious ways to bot, then a year or two later, there's suddenly another "update". This is a cat and mouse game, full of scare tactics, and propaganda like someone here said. And half of you are clapping "omgwtflolz0rdz jagex got rid of botters for me, clap clap", yes, there's probably 10,000 more still roaming around undetected. It's not like they're going to say "we've caught a 1000, but we're sure there's another 5000 botting that our systems haven't detected" Botting won't disappear, it's been there since the start, it will continue to be there.

Nooooooo, I've not been played in a while since not renewing membership. Came to do this year's event and found out I need inventory space, and guess what I have valuable stuff in my inventory and can't bank deposit (even with the automatic deposit at the easter bunny) since my bank is full, so I decided to renew membership. But paypal will take supposedly until the 20th to clear the payment, I didn't want to risk it. I don't want to have to drop the member stuff :shock:

I walked into it with swordfish and no skill boosts, I was level 100 at the time. I got done pretty badly, I was meleeing him, he wasn't that hard really but it was more the other minions around him that kept damaging me. Luckily I didn't die. So I came back with sharks and no skill boosts, and for some weird reason, I ate like 3 or 4 and he wasn't doing as much damage to me as before, it was really weird. All in all, you shouldn't have much of a problem fighting him, the other two following the first are really easy, the last one is pretty annoying as it keeps disappearing here and there.

They can't ban because IP's are different, what if you logged in at a friend's house? Perhaps if they were changing day in and day out from DIFFERENT countries then someone can get suspicious, however, there are such things as routers and sometimes I get routed to a different place when connecting to the internet. Various times, when I was in Dubai, I would get an IP starting with 210.XXX.XXX.XXX and other times 83.XXX.XXX.XXX. I was rather confused when I found out, the 83 had to do with a German ISP, I called up my ISP and I discovered that there was some link or some kind of heavy usage policy where they redirected some users to another ISP line during peak hours. This kind of thing is not impossible and does happen. So Jagex will not be banning over different IP's like this, contrary to popular belief.

Thanks for that guys, did seem a bit odd I must admit. And is it possible to fix it myself? I have heard several people saying you need lvl 90 construction to fix it and some saying you need some "high smithing level" What's the case with this.

My friend told me that if I didn't use my barrows weapon, whatever it is, my barrows armour will not degrade? Is this true? I haven't used barrows armour yet, and would like to know what the case is and any additional info if possible. Thanks

If you need to update your drivers check your brand name updates manager. Supposed you have HP, then check the HP update manager. Similarly for other brands like Compaq and such. If you custom installed or some other reason, right click your my computer, then go to properties and locate device manager, find your intel driver and try to update, for this you may need to actually download the update file from the website.
