  1. Please point out the: "Swearing, yelling, resisting arrest" part. As for running, only the one kid ran, the others just started to walk away. I would still like to know why they were arrested in the first place. The cop should have told them to "Stop and move on, you can't do that here." When the first kid gets arrest you can hear them swearing, and when the cop has the girl they yell and swear, and the girl clearly started to run but the cop caught her fast enough. And im guessing he did tell them to stop, and that he was maybe fineing them, which is when he gunned it. At the beginning you can hear the cop telling him that he shouldn't have tried running
  2. Right. Swearing, yelling, resisting arrest, and trying to run are polite.
  3. so ur telling me its ok to harass a 13 year old kid, in such a violent manner. whom was just skateboarding... just to to scare the hell out of them not to do it again? that in itself is abuse, and more or less against the law in its own right. No, i don't think its ok to harass a 13 year old. I think it's ok to use force on a 13 year old, or 19 year old (which ever he was) to arrest them when they are resisting arrest and trying to run.
  4. If he was using his other hand to, to me we would be able to see the arm, but with not the best angle i can't be sure. Still, if he gave him a slap on the wrist and told him to move on do you think that he wouldn't do it anymore? This way i think he would be scared straight and hopefully learn not to break the law or run from cops
  5. No, cause that would be "resisting arrest" right? Doubt he would bust him for that, just grabbing his arm and not trying to wrestle while he was lying on the ground
  6. Pry? From what i saw, he only had it there a few seconds, although the shot looked far away to me so i couldn't see crystal clear. And it is a instinct to try to get someone off you when they are holding you, for me atleast. And LP, if you are bending down, you would still be on your knees, by bending i don't mean leaning on the kids neck
  7. I see one hand on the neck or beside it on the pavement and one behind his back, but the pic is kinda dark so i guess thats open for interpretation, also looks more like he's bending down and not putting force on him. Lets face it, if someone that big put his pressure on your thoat, you would be choking and complaining that it hurts, but the kid is up and walking when the cop goes to chase the other one
  8. They're kids, big whoop. You're saying we should treat them differently just because they are younger? Also, not all of them were kids. "two of those arrested as McCormack, 21, and Skylar Nalls, 19, both of Hot Springs. McCormack faces a misdemeanor battery charge after allegedly pushing or striking a 67-year-old city employee during the altercation, Means said. Nalls was cited for skateboarding and faces misdemeanor charges of fleeing and obstructing governmental operations." They broke the law, police shouldn't go any easier on younger people who break the law than middle age people who break the law.
  9. He didn't choke the kid, he held him by the neck. Even when he had the girl in the neckc lock you could hear her yelling, if you were being choked, actually choked and not held by the neck you wouldn't be able to yell. If people are resisting arrest, how are you going to get them to comply? You need to use some force, its not like he went and used the pepper spray. The law is the law.
  10. I bet you didn't try to run from the cop though :anxious:
  11. Big reason i don't like pures (1 def anyway), is because they 1 item. They also complain about you if you pray, "safe", farcast etc, when they are ONE ITEMING
  12. He was arresting them for breaking a (im assuming) local law, which would be why fleeing the police would be illegal Don't assume anything. Skateboarding is not illegal in the state of Arkansas. Here's an un-edited version of the video because the Police claimed that the video had been edited to make the Officers look bad. All that video shows is the cop telling the kid to get on his stomach, which he has to tell him multiple times with his friends yelling at him, and the cop saying that he ran from him, which is also illegal Also, skateboarding there was illegal: "Hot Springs Mayor Mike Bush said Tuesday that investigators have talked with witnesses who saw the officer, Joey Williams, stop the skateboarders on a downtown city sidewalk last Thursday. Skateboarding is banned in the area." http://www.officer.com/online/article.j ... 1&id=36666 I think this person says pretty much how i feel: "The police is not paid to take your [cabbage]. Officer is trying to do his job, and you start talking smack, getting in his way, becoming an obstruction to the performance of his job, you're going to get done for it. No evidence from the clips available that the officer was choking the girl, an adult male is fully capable of restraining a person by their neck without cutting off air. The dude is pissed, yeah, and that's bad, but its not as bad as being made out. We don't know what happened in the lead up, there's reference to the girl running, and to her fighting, if that's the case, I have no problem with the officer laying down the law to her. Being a police officer is a [cabbage] of a job, and [bleep]-off kids like these deliberately flaunting the cities rules just make the officers' jobs that much harder. If the CITY says NO SKATEBOARDING you don't organise some sort of skate-a-thon, and expect not to get in trouble for it. If you're skating at all you have to know it's going to be risky. As a result of their actions, they now face fines and a possible criminal record. Next time, hopefully, they'll let the officer do his job. If they have a complaint, they can take it up after. Remember, police officers do not write the laws, and they have NO authority to pick and choose which ones to enforce."

  14. Just like people in this thread judge the cop without knowing what provoked him to get so angry. Whenever people see a cop getting rough with people they shout bloody murder. If you're going to break the law then don't expect to be treated nicely, especially if you are going to try and run. And i don't think its right to list his name either, he's just doing his job. As for the girl, he clearly said you are in violation of city rules and are under arrest too. Then she turn and tried to make a break for it, and judging by how her friend ran, i think she was dealt with fairly. If you're going to try to run expect to be roughed up, just stand there and let him put the cuffs on instead of being a moron And you can hear the kids yelling WHAT THE F*** DUDE!! They were being arrested for skateboarding. Skateboarding does not warrant an arrest. It warrants a ticket, but could have easily been let off with a warning. We don't shout bloody murder when a cop gets rough, we shout bloody murder when a cop uses excessive force, which is exactly what this was. Yes, they can list his name. I'm sure you'd have no problem if they listed his name for his honorable police work, just because it's listed in a bad light doesn't mean it's wrong, don't be biased. The girl was not dealt with fairly, she was afraid and wasn't going to run, she was walking. If she was trying to leave the scene, she would have ran, not walked. And then the cop flips out and throws her into a headlock. She's a 110 pound girl, he's a 250 pound man, she was causing no threat to anyone, the headlock was unarguably excessive. Then the kid, upset at what is happening walks over and tries to reason with the cop, and gets put into a headlock(do I need to state how this was excessive too?) and gets thrown to the ground. Looks like she more ran to me, but as it was on national skateboard day or what ever you can tell it is a trouble for the city, imagine skateboarders everywhere. If the city rules are arrest for skateboarding, then thats what he does. Break a law, suffer the consequences. And again, we don't know what the people did to make him so angry since we only saw from the part where he was holding the kid by the throat, pretty one sided in my opinion Also, about listing the name, im pretty sure the website can get in trouble if he didn't want his personal info to be released but i honestly have no clue. And no, i wouldn't have a problem if it was for an award or something, because he would have consented to it, and they put it all up there for people to likely pester him and egg his house and what not =;

Also, this video reminded me of these ones  http://www.break.com/index/security_gua ... kater.html http://www.break.com/index/skatervsguard.html (warning, some swearing in this one but funny as heck) ^ They deserved what they got there too imo
  16. They were harassing him and being mouthy and struggling with him. They broke the law and got what they deserved, their parents probably never spanked them so this should be a good wake up call. I'm sure if this was the exact actions except a thief or adult no one would complain, but since it was a mouthy kid everyone makes a big deal about it :wall:
  17. cops are supposed to take that stuff, ever seen the COPS show? people yelling straight at there face ect.. they are supposed to stay calm and try to manage the situation without it getting over-physical, as soon as he put those two kids in a head lock he was violating that, i didn't even hear him yell at the kid to stop. You mean when he put them in a headlock AFTER they ran and resisted arrest? :-k
  18. We can't really say the didn't provoke him because we only saw from the part where he caught them, and i think they deserved it. Broke the law, harassed the cop, ran, resisted, they could do with a night in the slammer.
  19. If you're resisting arrest and not letting you put the cuffs on you sorta have to force it
  20. I don't think it's against the law, and we don't know what they did to get arrested in the first place, but i think its just if your skateboarding in a private property like a school, because t hey usually do stuff like wax the stairs to do their grinds and what not which makes the stairs slippery. Or going down the sidewalk on them which causes a risk to people walking, either way if it is against the law don't do it :anxious: Edit to person above me: I don't think that just because they are kids they should be treated any differently than anyone else breaking the law. And if i'm correct, the go skateboarding day was a day made by skateboarders so they still don't have legal permission to do it
  21. I think the cop was in the right. In my experience, most skateboarders are disrespectful and what not. The guy tried running which is against the law, he arrested him. The others tried resisting so he had to get them under control, it's against the law and they gotta treat it like any other law breaking activity. On a lighter note, im surprised that cop was able to catch them :-w
  22. It all comes down to what is socially acceptable. Girls are allowed to pierced ears, but in some places guys aren't. The one thing that does bother me is the implications in sports teams. If a girl wants to play football and there is no girls football team she has to be allowed onto the guys team (assuming she is good enough that she doesn't get cut), but if a guy wants to play volleyball and there is no guys volleyball team he is not allowed on the girls team. I understand there are differences in strength, height, etc, but there is definitely a double standard in not only our schools, but society in general. Funny story, two sisters in our city made a fuss about getting permission to try out for the guys hockey team because they wanted a bigger challenge and what not, so after a long battle they were finally able to try out for the guys team. So they did, and weren't good enough. So, they went for the girl team and weren't good enough  On topic: My school had a day where girls would dress like guys and guys would dress like girls, good fun. I don't think your situation is a big deal, it's school, who cares? He was likely doing it to be the class clown anyway
  23. Probably hung himself once he realised what he had done and thought he can't live with himself knowing he killed his wife and child
  24. I had a friend who was my best friend for 10 years+, then we just stopped talking...I regret not doing stuff when we stopped talking, he was a great friend and it took losing him to remind me :( Funny thing is we live across the street from one another, i've tried to do stuff with him but he doesn't want to...falling out with friends sucks
  25. By real I meant his death is real unlike mcmahons :wall:
