I agree, i didn't explain it clearly. Programs such as scar identify colors and binary, which i did state in my explanation, but they also follow a task log. When you break it down to its simplest form it still follows a chain of commands, it mines rock, checks to see if there's a full inventory, checks for randoms, clicks another rock, when the inventory is full it selects the color of the ladder in the mini map, climbs the ladder, finds the color of the bank symbol, selects the bank symbol, runs to the bank and deposits, then it starts the whole thing over. I "reacts" but it can't do anything beyond what the writer of a script tells it, if the writer is smart enough to put something in that detects shapes then yes that doesn't work. The key that Jagex must search for is something that a master script writer cant even compensate for. You both were very correct (and rather redundant if i might add). Anyway, i believe that atleast the first one would work, or atleast stop the rookie macroers. For Jagex to "catch up" on this problem they need to start at the supply line aka tut island.

This is the rant of EVERY person that legally plays runescape; Which us to where I ask you a question: Do you have ideas for FASTER and BETTER macro tracking and bot stopping? I personally will be adding as many as possible, these will by listed below along with suggestions from other people. =-=-=-= Suggestion for slowing the creation of macro accounts To first understand this suggestion you must understand what exactly a macro is. A macro is nothing more then a set of comands. A macro can't think, it does exactly what it has been commanded; so if a macro command is to cut wood, then bank it the macro will right click on a tree and select "cut" then when it recieves the "your inventory is to full to hold logs" it walks to the bank. Now, it will carry out the commands regardless if there's a tree or bank around, it will right click on nothing and click where the "cut" option would be. So it has to do each step without skipping any. Now the suggestion, tutorial island should not been the same every time, and what i mean by this is you should be required to do the tasks in different order. This would require slight modification to tutorial island BUT would hugely reduce macro account creation because no one person wants to go through tutorial island 100 times to create macro accounts. The random to end all randoms Ok, another idea I had was a random event that freezes your account until you answer a question. The question has to be a similar to the mystery box that says "what shape has a '3' in it." The reason for suggesting this is because in most if not all instances a macro has his chat turned off so that when a random talks its the ONLY yellow text seen. When the macro sees the yellow text it simply clicks it, gets a reward and drops what it was given. If a random where the player cant do anything but answer the question, and the question is something that the macro can't do without human assistance, then you can stop a ton of macro's dead in their tracks. ~I got a few more but I got to run~

New Players (NOOBS) Getting A Bad Rap? - Post here!!!
Vindetta replied to chunky_monkey5's topic in Rants
Definition of a noob: an idiot that drives me nuts. A person with no meaning and no purpose in the game... they are, in essence, just taking up space on a server... if your begging from me then your a noob, if your reporting me for not giving you my whip or dragon junk then your a noob, if your following me your a noob... thats the way i role. People that are like "under my godly persona, theres a kind, goodlooking and rich god... i'm thinking about writing a book about how godly i am and dedicating it to me," THAT drives me insane... :D -
Combat requirement for quests: good idea?
Vindetta replied to Hi9im8Here7's topic in General Discussion
The combat is often times more of a warning of sorts. Lets face it, if combats to high we complain, but if there's no combat requirment and we die we complain that the quest is to hard... i posted in another thread that maybe we should stop trying to take over jagex's job... seriously, we are paying $5 and asking them to make a perfect game... not going to happen. Maybe some of the stuff is hard or hard to reach, but they are in a way reserving it for thier more "loyal" and longer played members. Not having to work to get everything you want is really bad for a person, making requirments keeps you intereseted and looking forward to the game. Someone above mentioned having to play a certain amount of time b4 doing a quest, but this is the point of requirements, plus this would just bring about tons of auto'ing... -
I agree, would you rather they stop making updates? Because if they did that then we wouldn't have to be worried about the next super over powerful weapon coming out would we. I mean come on, for the $5 you pay a month your demanding they make a perfect gaming world, one without death, without scammers and without problems? We are completely lucky they listen to our dumb demands, if a weapons to powerful then buy it, don't complain about it! Alot of noobs complain that the f2p doesn't get updates, they whine and whine... my only response is do you want them to completely close the game to free players?

The good thing about updates is that they affect every aspect of the game. There come many pro's and cons with an update, and something as simple as this, or as complex as the new dark bow cause large effects on the RS economy. Really, you got to look at it from all sides. Removing the "string all" function means that hard core lvl'ers are going to get less from alching their unstrung bows. That means less money entering into RS. As kraz stated, wood cutter's goods went up significantly because there's new suply and demand created by need for XP. The raise in prices of wood mean that hard core lvl'ers need more cash to get where they want to be, which significantly slows down fletching. So though the removing of string all may not directly impact fletching, it indirectly does. As a response to the posts above, whats wrong with having 99 fletching even if it took less time then others? Really it comes out as a sign of jealously, why do you care? If you got 99 in anything i would say your doing better then 98% of runescape, and congratulate you. If you can give me one good reason why they should be slowed down from thier goals, i'll agree with you.

chinchomas pretty much stink, they hit low and are slow. Salamanders are even worse for xp/speed.

Here's my outlook on everything. 1. Only bow worth using is mage short or crystal. Crystal is one of the most expensive weapons in the game, considering you need 900k to charge the first time, and you must keep charging. Also the only designated training area for rang is that lame lathes place where you can shoot ogres. Where as you can go to the mage arena and receive free runes, and good xp, or the warriors guild and also get "free" xp, and aditional armor/wep (whatever you want to cosider the defender). 2. Ever thought about how low the max hit of rang is IF you were to acomplish 99 rang? Not high (I beleive its possible to hit 38) where as mages can hit 30's on 16 enimies with one cast... not only that it but the openant is now stuck for 20 seconds. And acording to tipit's calculator it is possible under the correct circumstances (with str ammy and rune def and right armor) to hit a 79, at lvl 99 strength. 3. Weaponry is sssssad. sad. Rang has 4 bows with a special. And these specails don't really efect much. Compaired to the dds's 2 hit attack that drains only 20% of special i think we should be asking if its to powerful. 4. Well, i'm not going to rant about this one, guild just stinks. My conclusion is Rang is outdated and left behind. Magic can now teleport you places, a friend can heal you or restore your energy with magic. You can freeze, lower stats, and poisen others with it. Melee, constantly getting new weapons with greater power, new things to give it bonuses and reciving the best guilds/training areas. Being equiped with the fastest weapon, or the most punishing axes is making it easy for someone with a dds to run up and kill you. Rang? Whens the last time it got a quest? Or an update or new armor or a weapon worth talking about.

I'm a big merchanter, i find that buying a "huge rang" of items helps. If i buy 200 unid's for 500 ea, a few drag weps, full rune and some other items then turn around and sell them its easier to do then just one item. You can either look for ppl buying your items OR have a bank sale. I don't do bank sale, its like a garage sale.. you sell things for less then they are worth. BUT if you run into someone yelling "Buying d2h" and i just so happen to be selling i just let them wait a little while, then trade and get MORE then what its worth because they are tired of trying to buy. And if i don't the price i want for it i don't accept and walk away because theres always someone else or the dude will realize you don't care if he has the item or not and will buy for you price.. this is simple rules of suply and demand, you have it, they want it, you can make the price and if they don't want to pay then they don't need it, simple as that. Also be sure to pick popular items, such as dlongs, or whips not random ones like dmace or guth skirt.
