  1. I would give the Bandos gear a miss at the moment & get a selection of Barrows Armour, together with the Sara Sword, which will work out alot cheaper, which hopefully, will save you from having to grind to 99 Woodcutting just to raise some cash.

In the meantime, I would get your Slayer up to 83 which is where you really start seeing a return on your investment (my last task of 167 Spiritual Mages earned me 8 pairs of D Boots!!!!).

Looking at your stats, from 60 - 83 will take a maximum of 2399372 xp, which on average should equate to 200 tasks from Duradel.

Assuming you can do 75% of these tasks using Sara Sword you will also earn 7.2m Strength XP, in addition you will also get a decent chunk of HP xp.

Tasks will also earn Slayer points which you can convert to Slayer Dart Runes & sell - you can probably retatin about 3k worth of points from 200 Duradel tasks (remember you will have 'spent' some of the points along the way Blocking & cancelling tasks you don't like).

Slaying will also get you a large number of Clue Scrolls - Always do these, 1) they provide a natural break between tasks & 2) you can generate a considerabel sum of GP from rewards.

    Good Luck.

  2. Personally, If the main aim is to get 99 Slayer I would get a Sara GS. The Prayer & Healing benefits when Slaying really do outweigh the fact it may be slightly slower.

Your main offensive Slayer gear should consist of Whip, Sara GS, DFS & Rune Defender & vary these according to task.

I also agree with Pingu - It is cool to hit high

  3. My last 7 Gargoyle tasks (1193 Kills) have earned me 6 Granite Mauls - Average 198 per kill. That being said - I don't often get Gargoyles as a task, only 7 assignments in past 408 tasks.

-I always kill them in Chaos Tunnels.

  4. once you get past the 10 mill xp mark, it's all gravy. and just think of all the money you still have to make with that last 3.3m xp or so ::'

    keep it up! 9.5/10

Thx - its the Hawt Black cape thats driving me at the moment - the money will be nice as well though \'

oh it's definitely a sexy cape, i still prefer to wear it over all others that i own (which is saying something)

i agree with campbell though, use that cashola you're making and raise those lower skills up a bit - it'll be more than easy to do so

I know - the skills are lame, its just I spend all my time slaying at the moment. I can't seem to get a natural balance.

Was going to try & slay my next few tasks using Range or Mage, but it takes so long, so my desire to get to 99 Slayer as fast as I can takes over & I revert to meleeing everything!!

I may just bit the bullet & spend a day camped at Metals maging them - its not as if I haven't got the runes or money to do, the only thing I can't buy is time

  5. I've now managed to accumulate 5826 Slayer Points & was looking for some guidance as what to do with them.

ie. Should I turn them into Slayer Dart runes or continue to let them increase until I finally get 99 Slayer - I'm not going to waste them on XP.

I have 'learnt' how to make all the Leaf Bladed Bolts & Arrows etc.

By my calculations I could buy 160 sets of the Slayer Dart Runes (keeping some points back in case I want to cancel a task), which would equate to:

    40000 Death Runes

    160000 Mind Runes

The mid GE price of 271gp for Deaths & 9gp for Minds would give me 12,280,000gp (on the assumption they sell).

My question is - Do they sell at these prices & in these quantities, as I do not want to be stuck with that many runes.

Another thought is that Jagex may well introduce another upgrade to Slayer (hopefully with a Lvl 95 Monster) that requires a very large number of points to purchase?

Any thoughts you have would be appreciated.

  6. I'd be delighted if they introduced a Level 95 Slayer Monster, which attacked like a Ghast, thus destroying any food you had in you inventory - that would slow down the 'pie-users'!!!

Thus leaving the monster for the true masters of the Slayer Skill (I will get there!!)

As for drops - What about an addition to the existing Dragon Square Shield, maybe a drop that when added to the Shield gives extra bonuses (like the Spirit Shield).

This way Jagex could breath life back into the defunct Dragon Square & make those Left Half drops valuable again (i've now accumulated 8 which just sit in my bank waiting for something to happen)

  7. How Ironic - I'm just reading this thread whilst slaying Abby Demons (again \' ) & lo and behold a nice Level 3 Clue Scroll appears.

I always do any Clue Scrolls - I've got 486 pictures, mostly lvl 3 (I didn't bother capuring the Lvl 1 & 2's from my earlier noob years!!) & yes I get my fair share of complete & utter rubbish. However, I also get my fair share of decent drops - as evidenced by this:-

    21-3-1.jpg[/img]

As a constant Slayer I use them as a 'break' & will continue to do so.

The beauty of this game is everyone can play their own game how they want - if someone chooses to do a clue "good luck to them", if someone chooses to 'alch' the clue "good luck to them".

  8. I solo the KBD when getting Black Dragon Slayer task & wear:-

    Slayer Helm

    Fury

    Veracs Body & Skirt

    Barrows Gloves

    Dragon Boots

    Ring of Wealth

    DFS

    Trimmed Skill cape

    Whip

    DD++

    Inventory

3 4 Dose Anti Fire Pots

    4 4 Dose Pray Pots

    1 Super Strength Pot

    1 Super Attack Pot

    1 Super Anti Pot

Fill Terrorbird or Tortoise with Sharks or Pineapple Pizzas.

Probably not the best set-up, but it works for me.

    I've killed 187 KBD's & have had 2 Head drops/

  9. I'm pleased to say that my 5 Monster Duradel Loop has finally broken after 142 tasks. The loop was Iron Dragons, Steel Dragons, Black Dragons, Abby Demons & Fire Giants !!

I've now been assigned 161 Dagganoths, 199 Dust Devils, 151 Spirual Mages & now 161 Dark Beasts in past 4 tasks

I haven't Slayed for the past week & wondered if this may have helped, or whether Jagex finally realised that Duradel was broken.

Has anyone else's loop unexpectantly broken in past few days?

  10. Train your strength at waterfiends with an ss on crush, then slay with a whip for attack/melee xp?

I can't think of a weapon that has a decent crush attack + att/def option.

You misunderstood. I'm training slayer period. However currently I am training strength via slayer so Waterfiends are cool when I get assigned them. However when I do hit 99 strength and get a Waterfiend task I don't want to "waste" XP by still using a SS and just adding to the 99 strength.

I'd rather be able to train def or attack efficiently but I guess there's no serious option. Will have to do some digging.

    Cat,

I wouldn't worry about being assigned Waterfiends - I slay all the time & I've still never been assigned them (I have completed Barbarian training) !!

If however, you are fortunate not to be stuck in 'The Duradel Loop' & do actually get assigend Waterfiends i'd try to invest in a Zammy Spear (although the price is still rising), as this is the fastest 'Crush' weapon out there.

Use this to speed through task & then revert to Whip / Rune Def combo for Att / Def training.

  11. You only have to go through like ten minutes of MEP2 to unlock them so yeah. You don't even have to finish it to get them as a task.

Hoodie - is this right, I've been 90 slayer for about 3 months now & still haven't got them as a task. I've unlocked the Dark Beasts, but haven't completed MEP2.

I'm still stuck in the Iron Dragon, Steel Dragon, Black Dragon , Abby Demon & Fire Giant Duradel Loop & have been for the past 74 tasks!!!

I was debating taking some time out to finish MEP2, but if you can confirm that you can get task without finishing it I won't bother.

  12. I wouldn't waste your cannonballs on these - the drops are no different to the lesser ones in the Slayer Caves & they are much harder to kill.

You can quickly melee them & still get the herb drops, without the cost of the cannonballs.

In my opinion, the Lvl 138's need to be given a decent drop to make them worth killing.

Quickly kill them in the Slayer caves & move onto a decent task.
