Circus Points Submission Thread
Thanks frigginacky for that. Good to see we're getting some regular support. :D @acenator: I thought you/we could possibly see how doing the same emote twice in a row affects the points. We know that if you do 2 different emotes in a row, there's no bonuses/negativities, but there could be for doing the same one? Just thought I'd mention it. P.S Sadly no normal circus go-ers responses yet. We can only hope...

Some Circus Info
And welcome to the team, Pokemama! I was almost afraid it would end up being just me and Mattie and, sometimes, Frigginacky (as I'm sure Mattie was afraid he might end up doing everything alone before I joined in). Oh and at your last comment: Too right... -.- but I'm glad it didn't come to that.

Some Circus Info
Well thanks for your offer there! I'll take it up. I think we concentrate most people on finding preferred emotes/tricks as it requires most work, so you could do this for each event: Start the event Do these ten emotes: (I did just change these!)Clap, Salute, Goblin Bow, Goblin Salute, Glass Box, Climb Rope, Lean, Glass Wall, Idea, Stomp, (they're one after each other on the emote panel) Finish the event When you're done, submit the info on the submission thread. (viewtopic.php?f=200&t=786355). Thanks for your offerings again. :) What I think you can do SportsGuy, is keep doing what you usually do (getting exp), just record the description of what you did, and the points you got. This way, you can help narrow down the possible preferred emotes/tricks while still getting exp. As we know the basic outline to the point system, we should be able to decipher how you got the points reasonably well. We're trying to get more people involved in this, so by letting people do what they usually do, but record it, we hopefully should get more help. By the way, I keep saying "we" because acenator has been a great help lately, and has done some big contributions, especially working out the points for the events. He deserves some credit too. ;)

Circus Points Submission Thread
Have updated main thread now about it. Hopefully it'll get us some more help... anything I should add to it? Also, I have had some Crew response to this, and pokemama will probably be helping us. \

Circus Points Submission Thread
OK, sounds good what you plan to do. I'm just checking that I understand what you mean. Are you suggesting we ask anyone who does the circus to submit their points and a description of it, and then we can go through, matching the points with the description, and then see if we have points left over that could be preferred/other bonuses? (Hopefully you understand my gist there.)

Circus Points Submission Thread
Well here's my report for this week. Pretty boring as I didn't find anything preferred... Username: Mattie9999 Location of Circus: Al Kharid Wearing full circus gear?: No Agility Event Description: 10x Emotes (1x Yes, 1x No, 1x Bow, 1x Angry, 1x Think, 1x Wave, 1x Shrug, 1x Cheer, 1x Beckon, 1x Laugh) Agility Event Points: 30 Mage Event Description: 10x Emotes (1x Yes, 1x No, 1x Bow, 1x Angry, 1x Think, 1x Wave, 1x Shrug, 1x Cheer, 1x Beckon, 1x Laugh) Mage Event Points: 30 Ranged Event Description: 10x Emotes (1x Yes, 1x No, 1x Bow, 1x Angry, 1x Think, 1x Wave, 1x Shrug, 1x Cheer, 1x Beckon, 1x Laugh) Ranged Event Points: 30 Nice progress made there acenator. Maybe next you should be looking into doing two tricks of a different level in a row, and see if there's any extra points there? And then theres going back to doing the same twice in a row. How much does this decrease by? I realise I maybe should have investigated this... should we tell frigginacky to do this?

Some Circus Info
Thanks Pokemama for finally giving me a Tip It Crew response. :) To be honest, I'd forgotten a bit about this thread, so some of the data was a bit out of date. (None of what you added though). Have updated that now. (E.g we now think that .5xp may not be given anymore) Should I be continuing to update this thread here? Or are you fine just looking at my main thread in the General Discussion forum, and updating the guide when you feel the information there is complete enough? (viewtopic.php?f=30&t=785980)

Circus Points Submission Thread
Meh, if you say so. I'm not the greatest at understanding that sort of thing. I have updated thread without the .5xp, so that 20 and 60 are rounded up, and 40 and 80 are rounded down. I hope that is correct by your reckoning?
-
Circus Points Submission Thread
Hmm interesting... but do you think they're all rounded down? Because the original 20 trick that I did, gave 28 points, which was rounded up. If it was rounded by the source code, it seems irregular, rounding up and down... unless it takes turns to round... idk, still seems a bit unclear to me.

Thanks frigginacky for that. Me and acenator have replied to you in the submission thread. Have updated thread with your info.

Circus Points Submission Thread
Lol, just as I was about to post this, acenator beat me to it ;) Woot! Thank you so much frigginacky! \ Good to see you're still willing to help. :D Can I leave you on the list of people who are helping me? (I.e will you keep coming back to help?) Either way, it's good to know a preferred trick now, and it's interesting that's it is just the 75 point difference from original, not 85 like acenator had found by doing 2 tricks in a row. Keep up the good work! P.S I'm keeping track in an Excel spreadsheet all the emotes that have been tryed at the circus.

Circus Points Submission Thread
That's a good idea. I think we should continue with what we did this week, meaning that I work on the preferred emotes, and you work on the two tricks at once points. Would it work for you?

Circus Points Submission Thread
^ My failed adding skills -.-, but yes, a 10 point bonus could be likely. Maybe we should be looking into doing more than one thing at a time now? Have updated main thread.

The Circus Point System (Guide Now Up!)
Desperately need help while Circus is still at Draynor! Just need to find out whether the preferred mage trick is alchemy dumbells, or teleport dumbells.
-
Circus Points Submission Thread
Well, that is very interesting there acenator! You have probably found a preferred trick there, as there is a 75 point difference between what it should have been, and what you got, which is the same 75 bonus as emotes. Only problem is, we don't know which of the two 80's it is. If only we could get some people to find out. There's a few people who have said they'll help, but nothing of yet... :wall:. I'll try and ask some people on my friends list... do you have any that might help?

Circus Points Submission Thread
Well! I discovered today that the audience no longer tells you what you should do. I waited along time for them to say something, but all they said is "Come On. Do SOMETHING!" I guess Jagex has removed this, as it proved controversial. I eventually went onto finding preferred emotes: Username: Mattie9999 Location of Circus: Draynor Wearing full circus gear?: No Agility Event Description: 10x Emotes (1x Yes, 1x No, 1x Bow, 1x Angry, 1x Think, 1x Wave, 1x Shrug, 1x Cheer, 1x Beckon, 1x Laugh) Agility Event Points: 30 Mage Event Description: 10x Emotes (1x Yes, 1x No, 1x Bow, 1x Angry, 1x Think, 1x Wave, 1x Shrug, 1x Cheer, 1x Beckon, 1x Laugh) Mage Event Points: 105 - We now know the preferred draynor mage emote is one of those 10! Ranged Event Description: 10x Emotes (1x Yes, 1x No, 1x Bow, 1x Angry, 1x Think, 1x Wave, 1x Shrug, 1x Cheer, 1x Beckon, 1x Laugh) Ranged Event Points: 30 So at least I did achieve something this week, having not been able to do what I planned.

Something to Ponder On
As you say the very first day of Runescape my guess would be selling things to the general store, probably from things dropped by monsters. Some of the ideas mentioned I don't think would have been the case. Skilling as we know it today wouldn't have been an option, as for example, no-one had 75 woodcutting for mage trees, and besides, there would be no demand as no-one would have the skills to do anything with the logs. Alching would come into effect maybe a few months later, but as it was the first day, no-one had 55 mage, and no-one had natures. So, as I said, my guess would be combat drops being sold to the general store. E.g selling the bronze squares that goblins drop for 16gp or whatever it is they're worth. Although, I guess some form of skilling would be things like mining and smithing, selling those products again to the general store. ~Mattie~ P.S The talk of essence is irrelevant as essence was brought out with the runecrafting skill, which was only releases at the start of RS2.

Some Circus Info
Hmm OK interesting... will check that out then. Was there anything in your iventory that could possibly have anything to do with it? I couldn't possibly guess. I always have coins in my inventory...amulet of glory and ring of wealth, boots of lightness and spotted cape (not spottier). Maybe it's more about levels than inventory anyway. If your other numbers all make sense and that's the only one, I don't know what to say. It was definitely 29. Maybe it was the emote I chose. Other than that, don't want to speculate. Mm OK. I think we'll just leave it.

Circus Points Submission Thread
Thanks for posting in advance there acentor. Sounds good what you plan to do there. (Could have slight problems if you fail some of the 80 events, but that could happen to anyone.) I've also added what each person plans to do at the bottom of the thread. (I made it green so people can see it easier - I got the feeling people would miss it)

The Circus Point System (Guide Now Up!)
I hope you're not right about the audience and emotes. If they don't have a reaction specifically for the 'preferred' emote, it's likely to take at least 5-6 people to figure each one out. You can only figure out how many points you have by ending the event. You can find more information on what exactly you can do on this thread. @ Mattie: Alright. I'll be sure to do that. Thanks Sheep for offering to help. I will add you in game. I have noticed that the audience doesn't say anything usually when doing an emote, but what I'm hoping is that they might say something if you do a preferred emote. But as you probably didn't do a preferred emote when you were watching, you didn't see anyone saying anything. On how to figure out how many points: Lol, I realise I actually deleted my instructions on the submission thread. I have fixed that up. Basically, you are doing your one trick, and then ending early. This is why it is so long and hard for just one person to figure out things. Oh and acentor, I'd appreciate it if you posted what you were planning to do next circus on my submission thread, so we can get a roster type thing of what people were doing. The list of what we want to find out is under things to find out, but I'll give you the freedom to choose how to find/check that something gives certain points. (Hopefully you got my drift there.)
