Im just throwing this out here as well. I had the same issue with my HTC desire. Went to my cell phone provider and they told me an app to download call "advance Task Killer" My phone runs apps that are not needed sometimes, they just start up when I use the internet or twitter; this lets me kill apps that are not functional for the phone to work. For example, if I was to go on facebook for five mins and browse that app would of course work. Once I would close out the app, you would this it would shut down, but it doesn't. It keeps running even though you are not using it or can see it on the screen. Add like 15 or 20 other apps and really does kill you phone battery. Try this app out and see if it works for you,
